1 Samuel 26
1 And the Ziphites come to Saul at Gibeah, saying, “Is David not hiding himself in the height of Hachilah, on the front of the desert?”
Người Xíp lại đến Ghi-bê-a báo với Sau-lơ: “Đa-vít đang trốn trên đồi Ha-chi-la, đối diện Giê-si-môn.”
2 And Saul rises, and goes down to the wilderness of Ziph, and with him [are] three thousand men, chosen ones of Israel, to seek David in the wilderness of Ziph.
Được tin, Sau-lơ lại kéo đoàn quân tinh nhuệ gồm 3.000 người Ít-ra-ên đi xuống hoang mạc Xíp tìm Đa-vít.
3 And Saul encamps in the height of Hachilah, which [is] on the front of the desert, by the way, and David is abiding in the wilderness, and he sees that Saul has come into the wilderness after him;
Sau-lơ cắm trại trên đồi Ha-chi-la, cạnh bên đường, đối diện Giê-si-môn là nơi Đa-vít đang ẩn. Nghe tin Sau-lơ đến,
4 and David sends spies, and knows that Saul has come to Nachon,
Đa-vít cho người đi dò la, và biết Sau-lơ đến thật.
5 and David rises, and comes to the place where Saul has encamped, and David sees the place where Saul has lain, and Abner son of Ner, head of his host, and Saul is lying in the path, and the people are encamping around him.
Đêm xuống Đa-vít đến gần trại quân Sau-lơ để quan sát. Sau-lơ và Áp-ne, con Nê-rơ, tướng chỉ huy quân đội, đang ngủ trong lều, có quân lính đóng trại chung quanh.
6 And David answers and says to Ahimelech the Hittite, and to Abishai son of Zeruiah, brother of Joab, saying, “Who goes down with me to Saul, to the camp?” And Abishai says, “I go down with you.”
Đa-vít quay sang A-hi-mê-léc, người Hê-tít, và A-bi-sai, con Xê-ru-gia, em Giô-áp, hỏi: “Ai muốn vào trại quân Sau-lơ với tôi?” A-bi-sai đáp: “Tôi sẽ đi với ông.”
7 And David comes—and Abishai—by night to the people, and behold, Saul is lying sleeping in the path, and his spear is pressed into the earth by his pillow, and Abner and the people are lying around him.
Đa-vít cùng A-bi-sai lẻn vào trại quân Sau-lơ, thấy vua đang ngủ, có cây giáo cắm dưới đất ngang bên đầu. Họ cũng thấy Áp-ne và quan quân chung quanh Sau-lơ.
8 And Abishai says to David, “God has shut up your enemy into your hand today; and now, please let me strike him with [the] spear, even into the earth, at once—and not repeat [it] to him.”
A-bi-sai nói với Đa-vít: “Đức Chúa Trời giao mạng kẻ thù cho ông đây. Cho tôi lấy giáo phóng, ghim hắn xuống đất, không cần phóng đến lần thứ hai!”
9 And David says to Abishai, “Do not destroy him; for who has put forth his hand against the anointed of YHWH and been acquitted?”
Nhưng Đa-vít đáp: “Không được! Người giết vua phải chịu tội, vì vua được Chúa Hằng Hữu xức dầu.
10 And David says, “YHWH lives; except YHWH strikes him, or his day comes that he has died, or he goes down into battle and has been consumed—
Ngày nào đó, Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ cho Sau-lơ chết, ông sẽ chết già hoặc chết trong chiến trận.
11 far be it from me, by YHWH, from putting forth my hand against the anointed of YHWH; and now, please take the spear which [is] by his pillow, and the jug of water, and we go away.”
Chúa Hằng Hữu cấm tôi giết người được Ngài xức dầu! Bây giờ, ta chỉ lấy cây giáo và bình nước này, rồi đi!”
12 And David takes the spear, and the jug of water by the pillow of Saul, and they go away, and there is none seeing, and there is none knowing, and there is none awaking, for all of them are sleeping, for a deep sleep [from] YHWH has fallen on them.
Nói xong, Đa-vít lấy cây giáo cắm gần đầu Sau-lơ với bình nước, rồi cùng A-bi-sai bỏ đi. Chẳng ai hay biết gì cả, vì Chúa Hằng Hữu làm họ ngủ say.
13 And David passes over to the other side, and stands on the top of the hill far off—great [is] the place between them;
Khi đã qua đến đỉnh đồi bên kia, cách xa trại quân,
14 and David calls to the people, and to Abner son of Ner, saying, “Do you not answer, Abner?” And Abner answers and says, “Who [are] you [who] have called to the king?”
Đa-vít mới quay lại gọi binh lính và Áp-ne, con Nê-rơ: “Hãy thức dậy, Áp-ne!” Áp-ne hỏi: “Ai đó?”
15 And David says to Abner, “Are you not a man? And who [is] like you in Israel? But why have you not watched over your lord the king? For one of the people had come in to destroy the king, your lord.
Đa-vít đáp: “Áp-ne, ông là một vị tướng tài giỏi, phải vậy không? Những người tài giỏi trong Ít-ra-ên đâu hết rồi? Tại sao ông không lo giữ an toàn cho vua khi có người đến ám sát vua?
16 This thing which you have done is not good; YHWH lives, but you [are] sons of death, in that you have not watched over your lord, over the anointed of YHWH; and now, see where the king’s spear [is], and the jug of water which [is] by his pillow.”
Thật quá tệ! Tôi nhân danh Chúa Hằng Hữu mà thề rằng ông và thuộc hạ của ông sẽ bị chết, vì ông đã thất trách trong việc bảo vệ chủ của mình, người đã được Chúa Hằng Hữu xức dầu! Cây giáo và bình nước để cạnh vua bây giờ ở đâu.”
17 And Saul discerns the voice of David and says, “Is this your voice, my son David?” And David says, “My voice, my lord, O king!”
Sau-lơ nhận ra giọng Đa-vít, liền hỏi: “Có phải con đó không, Đa-vít?” Đa-vít đáp: “Dạ phải, thưa chúa tôi.
18 And he says, “Why [is] this—my lord is pursuing after his servant? For what have I done, and what evil [is] in my hand?
Nhưng tại sao vua đuổi bắt con? Con có làm gì nên tội đâu?
19 And now, please let my lord the king hear the words of his servant: if YHWH has moved you against me, let Him accept a present; but if [merely] the sons of men, they [are] cursed before YHWH, for today they have cast me out from being admitted into the inheritance of YHWH, saying, Go, serve other gods.
Xin vua nghe đầy tớ người trình bày. Nếu Chúa Hằng Hữu đã thúc giục vua hại con, Ngài sẽ chấp nhận của lễ. Nhưng nếu do người xúi giục, họ đáng bị Chúa Hằng Hữu nguyền rủa. Vì họ đuổi con ra khỏi đất đai Chúa Hằng Hữu dành cho dân Ngài, họ nói với con: ‘Hãy đi thờ các thần của người ngoại quốc.’
20 And now, do not let my blood fall to the earth before the face of YHWH, for the king of Israel has come out to seek one flea, as [one] pursues the partridge in mountains.”
Tại sao con phải chết một nơi xa cách Chúa Hằng Hữu, đổ máu trên đất lạ quê người? Tại sao vua Ít-ra-ên kéo quân ra để tìm một con bọ chét? Tại sao người ta săn mạng con như săn gà rừng trên núi?”
21 And Saul says, “I have sinned; return, my son David, for I do evil to you no more, because that my soul has been precious in your eyes this day; behold, I have acted foolishly, and err very greatly.”
Sau-lơ thú nhận: “Ta có lỗi! Đa-vít con ơi, trở về với ta, ta sẽ không hại con nữa, vì hôm nay con đã coi trọng mạng ta, còn ta chỉ hành động điên rồ, lỗi lầm quá mức.”
22 And David answers and says, “Behold, the king’s spear; and let one of the young men pass over, and receive it;
Đa-vít nói: “Đây cây giáo của vua, xin cho người sang lấy.
23 and YHWH turns each back to his righteousness and his faithfulness, in that YHWH has given you into [my] hand today, and I have not been willing to put forth my hand against the anointed of YHWH,
Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ thưởng cho người công bằng, trung thành. Hôm nay Chúa Hằng Hữu giao mạng vua cho con nhưng con không ra tay, vì vua được Ngài xức dầu.
24 and behold, as your soul has been great in my eyes this day, so is my soul great in the eyes of YHWH, and He delivers me out of all distress.”
Vì con coi trọng mạng vua, cầu xin Chúa Hằng Hữu bảo vệ mạng con, cứu con khỏi những nguy khốn hiểm nghèo.”
25 And Saul says to David, “Blessed [are] you, my son David, also working you work, and also prevailing you prevail.” And David goes on his way, and Saul has turned back to his place.
Sau-lơ nói: “Đa-vít con ơi! Cầu cho con được phước lành. Con sẽ thành công trong mọi công việc.” Rồi Đa-vít lại ra đi, còn Sau-lơ quay trở về.
