1 Samuel 22
1 And David goes from there, and escapes to the cave of Adullam, and his brothers hear, and all the house of his father, and they go down to him there;
David, pues, salió de allí y se escapó a la cueva de Adulam. Cuando lo oyeron sus hermanos y toda la casa de su padre, bajaron allí hacia él.
2 and every man in distress gathers themselves to him, and every man who has an exactor, and every man bitter in soul, and he is for head over them, and there are about four hundred men with him.
Todos los que estaban en apuros, todos los que estaban endeudados y todos los que estaban descontentos se reunieron con él, y él se convirtió en capitán de ellos. Había con él unos cuatrocientos hombres.
3 And David goes from there to Mizpeh of Moab and says to the king of Moab, “Please let my father and my mother come out with you, until I know what God does for me”;
David fue de allí a Mizpa de Moab, y le dijo al rey de Moab: “Te ruego que dejes salir a mi padre y a mi madre, hasta que sepa lo que Dios hará por mí.”
4 and he leads them before the king of Moab, and they dwell with him all the days of David’s being in the fortress.
Los llevó ante el rey de Moab, y vivieron con él todo el tiempo que David estuvo en la fortaleza.
5 And the prophet Gad says to David, “You do not abide in a fortress, go, and you have entered the land of Judah for yourself”; and David goes and enters the forest of Hareth.
El profeta Gad le dijo a David: “No te quedes en la fortaleza. Vete y entra en la tierra de Judá”. Entonces David partió y llegó al bosque de Heret.
6 And Saul hears that David has become known, and the men who [are] with him, and Saul is abiding in Gibeah, under the grove in Ramah, and his spear [is] in his hand, and all his servants [are] standing by him.
Saúl oyó que David había sido descubierto, con los hombres que lo acompañaban. Saúl estaba sentado en Guibeá, bajo el tamarisco de Ramá, con su lanza en la mano, y todos sus siervos estaban a su alrededor.
7 And Saul says to his servants who are standing by him, “Now hear, sons of Benjamin; does the son of Jesse also give fields and vineyards to all of you? Does he appoint all of you [to be] heads of thousands and heads of hundreds?
Saúl dijo a sus siervos que estaban a su alrededor: “¡Oigan ahora, benjamitas! ¿Acaso el hijo de Isaí les dará a todos ustedes campos y viñas? ¿Os hará a todos capitanes de millares y de centenas?
8 For all of you have conspired against me, and there is none uncovering my ear about my son’s cutting [a covenant] with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you grieving for me, and uncovering my ear, that my son has raised up my servant against me, to lie in wait as [at] this day.”
¿Es por eso que todos ustedes han conspirado contra mí, y no hay nadie que me revele cuando mi hijo hace un tratado con el hijo de Isaí, y no hay ninguno de ustedes que se apene por mí, o que me revele que mi hijo ha incitado a mi siervo contra mí, para acechar, como sucede hoy?”
9 And Doeg the Edomite answers, who is set over the servants of Saul, and says, “I have seen the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech son of Ahitub,
Entonces Doeg el edomita, que estaba junto a los servidores de Saúl, respondió y dijo: “He visto al hijo de Isaí llegar a Nob, a Ajimelec, hijo de Ajitub.
10 and he inquires of YHWH for him, and has given provision to him, and has given the sword of Goliath the Philistine to him.”
Él consultó a Yahvé por él, le dio comida y le entregó la espada de Goliat el filisteo”.
11 And the king sends to call Ahimelech son of Ahitub, the priest, and all the house of his father, the priests, who [are] in Nob, and all of them come to the king;
Entonces el rey envió a llamar al sacerdote Ajimelec, hijo de Ajitub, y a toda la casa de su padre, los sacerdotes que estaban en Nob; y todos ellos vinieron al rey.
12 and Saul says, “Now hear, son of Ahitub”; and he says, “Here I [am], my lord.”
Saúl dijo: “Escucha ahora, hijo de Ajitub”. Él respondió: “Aquí estoy, mi señor”.
13 And Saul says to him, “Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, by your giving bread and a sword to him, and to inquire of God for him, to rise against me, to lie in wait, as [at] this day?”
Saúl le dijo: “¿Por qué has conspirado contra mí, tú y el hijo de Isaí, en que le has dado pan y espada, y has consultado a Dios por él, para que se levante contra mí, para acechar, como hoy?”
14 And Ahimelech answers the king and says, “And who among all your servants [is] as David—faithful, and son-in-law of the king, and has turned aside to your council, and is honored in your house?
Entonces Ahimelec respondió al rey y dijo: “¿Quién de todos tus siervos es tan fiel como David, que es yerno del rey, capitán de tu guardia y honrado en tu casa?
15 Today have I begun to inquire of God for him? Far be it from me! Do not let the king lay anything against his servant, against any of the house of my father, for your servant has known nothing of all this, little or much.”
¿Acaso he comenzado hoy a preguntar a Dios por él? ¡Lejos de mí! Que el rey no impute nada a su siervo, ni a toda la casa de mi padre; porque tu siervo no sabía nada de todo esto, ni menos ni más.”
16 And the king says, “You surely die, Ahimelech, you and all the house of your father.”
El rey dijo: “Sin duda morirás, Ajimelec, tú y toda la casa de tu padre”.
17 And the king says to the runners, those standing by him, “Turn around, and put the priests of YHWH to death, because their hand [is] also with David, and because they have known that he is fleeing, and have not uncovered my ear”; and the servants of the king have not been willing to put forth their hand to come against the priests of YHWH.
El rey dijo a la guardia que lo rodeaba: “Vuélvanse y maten a los sacerdotes de Yahvé, porque también su mano está con David, y porque sabían que había huido y no me lo revelaron.” Pero los servidores del rey no quisieron extender su mano para caer sobre los sacerdotes de Yahvé.
18 And the king says to Doeg, “Turn around, and come against the priests”; and Doeg the Edomite turns around, and comes against the priests himself, and in that day puts to death eighty-five men bearing a linen ephod,
El rey le dijo a Doeg: “¡Vuelve y ataca a los sacerdotes!” Doeg el edomita se volvió y atacó a los sacerdotes, y ese día mató a ochenta y cinco personas que llevaban un efod de lino.
19 and Nob, the city of the priests, he has struck by the mouth of the sword, from man and to woman, from infant and to suckling, and ox, and donkey, and sheep, by the mouth of the sword.
Hirió a Nob, la ciudad de los sacerdotes, a filo de espada, tanto a hombres como a mujeres, niños y lactantes, y ganado, asnos y ovejas, a filo de espada.
20 And one son of Ahimelech, son of Ahitub, escapes, and his name [is] Abiathar, and he flees after David,
Uno de los hijos de Ajimelec, hijo de Ajitub, llamado Abiatar, escapó y huyó tras David.
21 and Abiathar declares to David that Saul has slain the priests of YHWH.
Abiatar le dijo a David que Saúl había matado a los sacerdotes de Yahvé.
22 And David says to Abiathar, “I have known on that day when Doeg the Edomite [is] there, that he certainly declares [it] to Saul; I have brought [it] around to every person of the house of your father;
David le dijo a Abiatar: “Yo sabía que ese día, cuando Doeg el edomita estaba allí, seguramente se lo diría a Saúl. Soy responsable de la muerte de todas las personas de la casa de tu padre.
23 dwell with me; do not fear; for he who seeks my life seeks your life; for you [are my] charge with me.”
Quédate conmigo. No tengas miedo, porque el que busca mi vida busca la tuya. Estarás a salvo conmigo”.
