1 Samuel 22
1 And David goes from there, and escapes to the cave of Adullam, and his brothers hear, and all the house of his father, and they go down to him there;
Da ging David von dort hinweg und entrann in die Bergfeste Adullam. Als nun seine Brüder und seine Familie dies erfuhren, kamen sie zu ihm hinab.
2 and every man in distress gathers themselves to him, and every man who has an exactor, and every man bitter in soul, and he is for head over them, and there are about four hundred men with him.
Und es scharten sich um ihn allerlei Bedrängte, sowie jeder, der einem Gläubiger verfallen war, und allerlei mißvergnügte Leute, und er wurde ihr Hauptmann. Bei 400 Mann schlossen sich ihm an.
3 And David goes from there to Mizpeh of Moab and says to the king of Moab, “Please let my father and my mother come out with you, until I know what God does for me”;
Von da ging David nach Mizpe in Moab und bat den König von Moab: Dürften nicht mein Vater und meine Mutter bei euch wohnen, bis ich weiß, was Gott mit mit thut?
4 and he leads them before the king of Moab, and they dwell with him all the days of David’s being in the fortress.
Da ließ er sie in der Umgebung des Königs von Moab, und sie wohnten bei ihm, so lange David auf der Bergfeste war.
5 And the prophet Gad says to David, “You do not abide in a fortress, go, and you have entered the land of Judah for yourself”; and David goes and enters the forest of Hareth.
Aber der Prophet Gad sprach zu David: Du sollst nicht auf der Bergfeste bleiben; mache dich auf den Weg und begieb dich ins Land Juda. Da machte sich David auf den Weg und gelangte nach Jaar Hereth.
6 And Saul hears that David has become known, and the men who [are] with him, and Saul is abiding in Gibeah, under the grove in Ramah, and his spear [is] in his hand, and all his servants [are] standing by him.
Als nun Saul vernahm, daß David und die Leute, die bei ihm waren, entdeckt seien - Saul saß eben in Gibea unter der Tamariske auf der Höhe, den Speer in der Faust, und alle seine Hofbeamten umstanden ihn -,
7 And Saul says to his servants who are standing by him, “Now hear, sons of Benjamin; does the son of Jesse also give fields and vineyards to all of you? Does he appoint all of you [to be] heads of thousands and heads of hundreds?
da sprach Saul zu seinen Hofbeamten, die ihn umstanden: Hört doch, ihr Benjaminiten! Wird wohl der Sohn Isais euch allen auch Felder und Weinberge schenken und euch alle zu Hauptleuten über Tausende und über Hunderte ernennen,
8 For all of you have conspired against me, and there is none uncovering my ear about my son’s cutting [a covenant] with the son of Jesse, and there is none of you grieving for me, and uncovering my ear, that my son has raised up my servant against me, to lie in wait as [at] this day.”
daß ihr euch alle wider mich verschworen habt, und niemand es mir mitgeteilt hat, als sich mein Sohn mit dem Sohne Isais verbündete, und daß niemand von euch Mitgefühl mit mir hatte und mir mitteilte, daß, wie es jetzt der Fall ist, mein Sohn meinen Knecht zum Feinde wider mich aufgestiftet hat?
9 And Doeg the Edomite answers, who is set over the servants of Saul, and says, “I have seen the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech son of Ahitub,
Da ergriff der Edomiter Doeg - er stand neben den Beamten Sauls - das Wort: Ich sah, wie der Sohn Isais zu Abimelech, dem Sohne Ahitubs, nach Nob kam.
10 and he inquires of YHWH for him, and has given provision to him, and has given the sword of Goliath the Philistine to him.”
Der fragte für ihn Jahwe; auch hat er ihm Zehrung gegeben und ihm das Schwert des Philisters Goliath gegeben.
11 And the king sends to call Ahimelech son of Ahitub, the priest, and all the house of his father, the priests, who [are] in Nob, and all of them come to the king;
da ließ der König Ahimelech, den Sohn Ahitubs, den Priester, und sein ganzes Geschlecht, die Priesterschaft von Nob, zu sich entbieten, und sie erschienen vollzählig vor dem Könige.
12 and Saul says, “Now hear, son of Ahitub”; and he says, “Here I [am], my lord.”
Da sprach Saul: Höre einmal, du Sohn Ahitubs! Er antwortete: Ich höre, mein Gebieter!
13 And Saul says to him, “Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, by your giving bread and a sword to him, and to inquire of God for him, to rise against me, to lie in wait, as [at] this day?”
Da fragte ihn Saul: Warum habt ihr euch, du und der Sohn Isais, wider mich verschworen, daß du ihm Brot und ein Schwert gabst und Gott für ihn befragtest, so daß er als Feind wider mich auftreten konnte, wie es jetzt der Fall ist?
14 And Ahimelech answers the king and says, “And who among all your servants [is] as David—faithful, and son-in-law of the king, and has turned aside to your council, and is honored in your house?
Ahimelech entgegnete dem Könige: Aber wer unter allen deinen Dienern ist so bewährt, wie David, dazu des Königs Eidam, Oberster über deine Leibwache und geehrt in deinem Hause?
15 Today have I begun to inquire of God for him? Far be it from me! Do not let the king lay anything against his servant, against any of the house of my father, for your servant has known nothing of all this, little or much.”
Habe ich denn erst jetzt angefangen, Gott für ihn zu befragen? Durchaus nicht! Möge doch der König seinem Sklaven und meinem ganzen Geschlechte nichts unterlegen, denn dein Sklave hat um alles dieses nicht das Geringste gewußt!
16 And the king says, “You surely die, Ahimelech, you and all the house of your father.”
Der König aber rief: Du mußt sterben, Ahimelech, du selbst und dein ganzes Geschlecht!
17 And the king says to the runners, those standing by him, “Turn around, and put the priests of YHWH to death, because their hand [is] also with David, and because they have known that he is fleeing, and have not uncovered my ear”; and the servants of the king have not been willing to put forth their hand to come against the priests of YHWH.
Und der König gebot den Trabanten, die ihm zur Seite standen: Her! und bringt die Jahwepriester um, denn auch sie haben David beigestanden und haben mir, obwohl sie wußten, daß er auf der Flucht sei, keine Mitteilung gemacht! Aber die Diener des Königs weigerten sich, Hand anzulegen, um die Priester Jahwes niederzustoßen.
18 And the king says to Doeg, “Turn around, and come against the priests”; and Doeg the Edomite turns around, and comes against the priests himself, and in that day puts to death eighty-five men bearing a linen ephod,
Da gebot der König dem Doeg: Tritt du hin und stoße die Priester nieder! Da trat der Edomiter Doeg hin und er stieß die Priester nieder und tötete an jenem Tag 85 Männer, die da linnene Schulterkleid trugen.
19 and Nob, the city of the priests, he has struck by the mouth of the sword, from man and to woman, from infant and to suckling, and ox, and donkey, and sheep, by the mouth of the sword.
Und Nob, die Stadt der Priester, strafte er mit der Niedermetzelung sowohl der Männer, als der Weiber, der Knaben wie der Säuglinge, der Rinder, wie der Esel und Schafe; alles metzelte er nieder.
20 And one son of Ahimelech, son of Ahitub, escapes, and his name [is] Abiathar, and he flees after David,
Nur ein Sohn Ahimelechs, des Sohnes Ahitubs, namens Abjathar, entkam und floh zu Davids Gefolge.
21 and Abiathar declares to David that Saul has slain the priests of YHWH.
Und Abjathar meldete David: Saul hat die Priester Jahwes ermordet!
22 And David says to Abiathar, “I have known on that day when Doeg the Edomite [is] there, that he certainly declares [it] to Saul; I have brought [it] around to every person of the house of your father;
David erwiderte Abjathar: Ich wußte es schon damals, weil der Edomiter Doeg dort war, daß er es Saul verraten würde: ich bin schuldig an allen Menschenleben in deinem Geschlechte!
23 dwell with me; do not fear; for he who seeks my life seeks your life; for you [are my] charge with me.”
Bleibe unbesorgt bei mir! Nur wer mir nach dem Leben stehen wollte, könnte dir nach dem Leben stehen: du bist bei mir in guter Hut!
