< 1 Samuel 11 >
1 And Nahash the Ammonite comes up, and encamps against Jabesh-Gilead, and all the men of Jabesh say to Nahash, “Make a covenant with us, and we serve you.”
Kalpasanna, napan rinaut ni Nahas a taga-Amon ti Jabes Galaad. Kinuna dagiti amin a lallaki iti Jabes kenni Nahas, “Makitulagka kadakami, ket agserbikaminto kenka.”
2 And Nahash the Ammonite says to them, “For this I cut [a covenant] with you, in picking out every right eye of yours—and I have set it [for] a reproach on all Israel.”
Simmungbat ni Nahas a taga-Amon, “Makitulagak kadakayo ngem iti maysa a kondision, a suatek amin dagiti akin-kannawan a matmatayo, ket babaen iti kastoy a wagas, maibabainanto ti entero nga Israel.”
3 And [the] elderly of Jabesh say to him, “Leave us alone [for] seven days, and we send messengers into all the border of Israel: and if there is none saving us—then we have come out to you.”
Ket simmungbat kenkuana dagiti panglakayen ti Jabes, “Panawannakami nga agmaymaysa iti las-ud ti pito nga aldaw, tapno makaibaonkami kadagiti mensahero iti amin a masakupan ti Israel. Kalpasanna, no awan ti mangisalakan kadakami, sumukokaminto kenka.”
4 And the messengers come to Gibeah of Saul, and speak the words in the ears of the people, and all the people lift up their voice and weep;
Dimteng dagiti mensahero idiay Gabaa, a pagnanaedan ni Saul, ket imbagada kadagiti tattao ti napasamak. Nagsangit amin dagiti tattao iti napigsa.
5 and behold, Saul has come out of the field after the herd, and Saul says, “What [is that] to the people, that they weep?” And they recount the words of the men of Jabesh to him.
Ita, sarsarunnoen ni Saul dagiti bulog a baka iti ayan ti talon. Kinuna ni Saul, “Ania ti mapaspasamak kadagiti tattao ta agsangsangitda?” Imbagada kenni Saul ti imbaga dagiti lallaki iti Jabes.
6 And the Spirit of God prospers over Saul, in his hearing these words, and his anger burns greatly,
Idi nangngeg ni Saul ti imbagada, immay ti Espiritu ti Dios kenkuana, ket nakaunget unay isuna.
7 and he takes a couple of oxen, and cuts them in pieces, and sends [them] through all the border of Israel, by the hand of the messengers, saying, “He who is not coming out after Saul and after Samuel—thus it is done to his oxen”; and the fear of YHWH falls on the people, and they come out as one man.
Nangala isuna iti dua a baka, tinadtatadtadna dagitoy, ken impaiwarasna dagitoy kadagiti mensahero iti entero a masakupan ti Israel. Kinunana, “Siasinoman a saan a rummuar a sumurot kada Saul ken Samuel, daytoy ti maaramidto kadagiti bakana.” Ket immay kadagiti tattao ti panagbuteng kenni Yahweh, ket nagsangsangkamaysada a rimmuar.
8 And he inspects them in Bezek, and the sons of Israel are three hundred thousand, and the men of Judah thirty thousand.
Idi naummongna ida idiay Besek, tallo gasut a ribu dagiti tattao ti Israel, ket dagiti lallaki ti Juda ket tallopulo a ribu.
9 And they say to the messengers who are coming, “Thus you say to the men of Jabesh-Gilead: Tomorrow you have safety—by the heat of the sun”; and the messengers come and declare [it] to the men of Jabesh, and they rejoice;
Kinunada kadagiti dimteng a mensahero, “Ibagayonto kadagiti lallaki iti Jabes Galaad, 'Maispalkayonto sakbay a dumteng ti tengnga ti aldaw inton bigat.'” Napan ngarud imbaga daytoy dagiti mensahero kadagiti tattao ti Jabes, ket naragsakanda.
10 and the men of Jabesh say [to the Ammonites], “Tomorrow we come out to you, and you have done to us according to all that [is] good in your eyes.”
Ket kinuna dagiti tattao ti Jabes kenni Nahas, “Inton bigat sumukokaminto kadakayo, ket aramidenyonto kadakami ti aniaman nga ammoyo a nasayaat kadakayo.”
11 And it comes to pass, on the next day, that Saul puts the people in three detachments, and they come into the midst of the camp in the morning-watch, and strike Ammon until the heat of the day; and it comes to pass that those left are scattered, and there have not been left two of them together.
Kabigatanna, binunggoy ni Saul dagiti tattao iti tallo. Dimtengda iti tengnga ti kampo iti parbangon, ket dinarup ken pinarmekda dagiti Amonita agingga iti umaldawen. Nagwawara dagiti nakalasat, isu nga awan ti dua a nagkadua a nagkuyog.
12 And the people say to Samuel, “Who is he that says, Saul reigns over us? Give up the men, and we put them to death.”
Ket kinuna dagiti tattao kenni Samuel, “Siasino dagiti nangibaga a kunada, 'Iturayannatayonto kadi ni Saul?' Iyegyo dagiti lallaki, tapno papatayentayo ida.
13 And Saul says, “There is no man put to death on this day, for today YHWH has worked salvation in Israel.”
Ngem kinuna ni Saul, “Awan koma ti masapul a matay ita nga aldaw, gapu ta inispal ni Yahweh ti Israel ita nga aldaw.”
14 And Samuel says to the people, “Come and we go to Gilgal, and renew the kingdom there”;
Ket kinuna ni Samuel kadagiti tattao, “Umaykayo, intayo idiay Gilgal ket sadiay, pasingkedantayo ti panagbalin ni Saul nga ari.”
15 and all the people go to Gilgal, and cause Saul to reign there before YHWH in Gilgal, and sacrifice sacrifices of peace-offerings there before YHWH, and Saul rejoices there—and all the men of Israel—very greatly.
Isu a napan amin dagiti tattao iti Gilgal ket pinagbalinda nga ari ni Saul iti sangoanan ni Yahweh idiay Gilgal. Nangidatonda sadiay kadagiti daton a pakikappia iti sangoanan ni Yahweh, ket nagragsak iti kasta unay ni Saul ken dagiti amin a tattao ti Israel.
