1 Peter 4
1 Christ, then, having suffered for us in the flesh, you also arm yourselves with the same mind, because he who suffered in the flesh has finished [with] sin,
Visto que Cristo sofreu na carne, armai-vos também com o mesmo modo de pensar, pois quem sofreu na carne terminou com o pecado;
2 no longer in the desires of men, but in the will of God, to live the rest of the time in the flesh;
para que, no resto do tempo na carne, não viva mais segundo os maus desejos humanos, mas sim segundo a vontade de Deus.
3 for the time has sufficiently passed to have carried out the will of the nations, having walked in licentiousness, lusts, excesses of wines, revelings, drinking-bouts, and unlawful idolatries,
Pois já basta, no tempo passado, termos feito a vontade dos pagãos, e andado em promiscuidades, desejos maliciosos, bebedeiras, orgias, festas de embriaguez, e abomináveis idolatrias.
4 in which they think it strange—your not running with them to the same excess of wastefulness, slandering [you]—
Como eles estranham vós não agirdes como eles, que correm em busca da extrema devassidão, por isso falam mal de vós.
5 who will give an account to Him who is ready to judge [the] living and [the] dead,
Eles terão de prestar contas ao que está pronto para julgar os vivos e os mortos.
6 for this also was good news proclaimed to dead men, that they may be judged, indeed, according to men in the flesh, but may live according to God in the Spirit.
Pois por isso o evangelho também foi pregado aos mortos, para que, mesmo que tenham sido julgados na carne segundo os critérios humanos, vivam em espírito segundo os critérios de Deus.
7 Now the end of all things has come near; be sober-minded, then, and be sober in [your] prayers.
O fim de todas as coisas está próximo; portanto sede sóbrios, e vigiai em orações.
8 Before all things, having earnest love among yourselves, because love covers a multitude of sins;
Acima de tudo, tende fervoroso amor uns para com os outros; porque o amor cobre uma multidão de pecados.
9 [be] hospitable to one another, without murmuring;
Proporcionai hospitalidade uns aos outros, sem murmurações.
10 each [one], according as he received a gift, ministering it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God;
Cada um sirva aos outros segundo o dom que recebeu, como bons administradores da variada graça de Deus.
11 if anyone speaks, [speak] as oracles of God; if anyone ministers, [minister] as of the strength which God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory and the power through the ages of the ages. Amen. (aiōn g165)
Se alguém fala, que seja como as palavras de Deus; se alguém serve, [que sirva] segundo a força que Deus dá; a fim de que em tudo Deus seja glorificado por meio de Jesus Cristo. E a ele pertencem a glória e o poder para todo o sempre, Amém! (aiōn g165)
12 Beloved, do not think it strange at the fiery suffering among you that is coming to try you, as if a strange thing were happening to you,
Amados, não estranheis o fogo ardente que vem sobre vós para vos provar, como se algo estranho estivesse vos acontecendo.
13 but according as you have fellowship with the sufferings of the Christ, rejoice, that you may also rejoice in the revelation of His glory—exulting;
Em vez disso, alegrai-vos em serdes participantes das aflições de Cristo; para que, também na revelação de sua glória vos alegreis com júbilo.
14 if you are reproached in the Name of Christ—[you are] blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you; in regard, indeed, to them, is evil spoken of Him, and in regard to you, He is glorified;
Se vós sois insultados por causa do nome de Cristo, benditos sois; porque o Espírito da glória e de Deus repousa sobre vós.
15 for let none of you suffer as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or as a meddler into other men’s matters;
Porém nenhum de vós sofra como homicida, ladrão, malfeitor, ou como alguém que se intromete em assuntos alheios;
16 and if as a Christian, do not let him be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this respect;
Mas se [sofre] como cristão, não se envergonhe; ao contrário, glorifique a Deuscom esse nome;
17 because it is the time of the judgment to have begun from the house of God, and if first from us, what [is] the end of those disobedient to the good news of God?
Pois já é tempo do julgamento começar pela casa de Deus; e se é primeiro conosco, qual será o fim daqueles que são desobedientes ao Evangelho de Deus?
18 And if the righteous man is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and sinner appear?
E se o justo se salva com dificuldade, em que situação aparecerá o ímpio e pecador?
19 So that those also suffering according to the will of God, as to a steadfast Creator, let them commit their own souls in doing good.
Portanto, os que sofrem segundo a vontade de Deus, confiem suas almas ao fiel Criador, fazendo o bem.
