1 Kings 9
1 And it comes to pass, at Solomon’s finishing to build the house of YHWH, and the house of the king, and all the desire of Solomon that he delighted to do,
Lè wa Salomon fin bati Tanp Seyè a, palè wa a ak tout lòt bagay li te gen lide fè yo,
2 that YHWH appears to Solomon a second time, as He appeared to him in Gibeon,
Seyè a te fè Salomon wè l' ankò, menm jan li te fè l' wè l' lavil Gabawon an.
3 and YHWH says to him, “I have heard your prayer and your supplication with which you have made supplication before Me; I have hallowed this house that you have built to put My Name there for all time, and My eyes and My heart have been there [for] all the days.
Seyè a di l' konsa: -Mwen tande lapriyè ou la. Mwen mete tanp ou bati a apa pou sèvis mwen. Se la pou moun adore m' tout tan. M'ap voye je sou li, m'ap toujou pwoteje l'.
4 And you—if you walk before Me as your father David walked, in simplicity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded you, [and] you keep My statutes and My judgments,
Si ou mache devan m' tankou David, papa ou, ak tout kè ou jan ou dwe fè l' la, si ou fè tout sa mwen mande ou fè, si ou koute lòd ak bon prensip mwen yo, m'a fè gouvènman ou lan kanpe fèm nan peyi Izrayèl la pou tout tan,
5 then I have established the throne of your kingdom over Israel for all time, as I spoke to your father David, saying, A man of yours is never cut off from [being] on the throne of Israel.
m'a kenbe pwomès mwen te fè David, papa ou la, lè m' te di l' ap toujou gen yon moun nan fanmi li ki pou gouvènen pèp Izrayèl la.
6 If you at all turn back—you and your sons—from after Me, and do not keep My commands [and] My statutes that I have set before you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them,
Men, si ou menm osinon yonn nan pitit ou yo vire do ban mwen, si nou pa fè sa m' mande nou fè, si nou pa koute lòd mwen ban nou, si n' al sèvi lòt bondye, si n' al adore lòt bondye,
7 then I have cut off Israel from the face of the ground that I have given to them, and the house that I have hallowed for My Name I send away from My presence, and Israel has been for an allegory and for a byword among all the peoples;
lè sa a, m'ap wete pèp Izrayèl la nan peyi mwen ba yo a. M'ap vire do bay tanp mwen te mete apa tankou kote pou yo fè sèvis pou mwen an. Moun toupatou va pase pèp Izrayèl la nan betiz, y'a fè chante sou li.
8 as for this house [that] is high, everyone passing by it is astonished, and has hissed, and they have said, Why has YHWH done this to this land and to this house?
Tanp sa a va tounen yon vye mazi. Tout moun ki va pase bò la va sezi, y'a met men nan bouch. y'a mande poukisa Seyè a fè peyi a ak tanp lan sa.
9 And they have said, Because that they have forsaken their God YHWH, who brought out their fathers from the land of Egypt, and they lay hold on other gods, and bow themselves to them and serve them; therefore YHWH has brought all this calamity on them.”
y'a reponn yo: Se paske yo te vire do bay Seyè a, Bondye yo a, ki te fè zansèt yo soti kite peyi Lejip. Yo kouri al jwenn lòt bondye, yo fè sèvis pou yo, yo adore yo. Se poutèt sa Seyè a te voye malè sa a sou yo.
10 And it comes to pass, at the end of twenty years, that Solomon has built the two houses, the house of YHWH, and the house of the king.
Wa Salomon te pran ventan pou l' bati tanp Seyè a ak palè wa a.
11 Hiram king of Tyre has assisted Solomon with cedar-trees, and with fir-trees, and with gold, according to all his desire; then King Solomon gives to Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.
Iram, wa peyi Tir, te ba li tout bwa sèd ak bwa pichpen ansanm ak tout lò li te bezwen pou l' fè travay la. Lè travay la fini, wa Salomon bay Iram ven lavil nan zòn Galile a.
12 And Hiram comes out from Tyre to see the cities that Solomon has given to him, and they have not been right in his eyes,
Iram kite peyi l', Tir, li desann al wè lavil Salomon te ba li yo. Men, li pa t' renmen yo.
13 and he says, “What [are] these cities that you have given to me, my brother?” And one calls them the land of Cabul to this day.
Li di Salomon konsa: -Se lavil sa yo ou wè pou ou ban mwen, frè mwen! Yo pa vo anyen. Se poutèt sa, depi lè sa a rive jòdi a, yo rele zòn sa a Nan Kaboul.
14 And Hiram sends one hundred and twenty talents of gold to the king.
Iram te voye senk tòn lò an total bay Salomon.
15 And this [is] the matter of the tribute that King Solomon has lifted up, to build the house of YHWH, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer
Wa Salomon te fè moun fè kòve pou bati tanp Seyè a ak palè pa l' la, pou mete ranblè plen bò solèy leve lavil la ak pou bati gwo miray lavil la. Li sèvi ak moun kòve yo tou pou l' rebati lavil Azò, lavil Megido ak lavil Gezè.
16 (Pharaoh king of Egypt has gone up and captures Gezer, and burns it with fire, and he has slain the Canaanite who is dwelling in the city, and gives it [as] presents to his daughter, wife of Solomon).
Lontan anvan sa, farawon an, wa peyi Lejip la, te moute atake lavil Gezè. Li pran l', li touye tout moun Kanaran ki te rete la, lèfini li mete dife ladan l'. Apre sa, li fè pitit fi l' la kado l' lè li te marye ak wa Salomon.
17 And Solomon builds Gezer, and the lower Beth-Horon,
Salomon rebati lavil Gezè, li rebati lavil Bètowon ki nan fon an,
18 and Ba‘alath, and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land,
lavil Balat ak lavil Tama nan dezè Jida a.
19 and all the cities of stores that King Solomon has, and the cities of the chariots, and the cities of the horsemen, and the desire of Solomon that he desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.
Li rebati tout lavil kote yo te fè depo pwovizyon Salomon yo, lavil pou chwal li yo ak pou cha lagè li yo, ak tou sa li te vle bati ni lavil Jerizalèm, ni nan peyi Liban, ni nan tout lòt peyi ki te sou lòd li yo.
20 The whole of the people that is left of the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, who [are] not of the sons of Israel—
Te gen moun Amori yo, moun Et yo, moun Ferezi yo, moun Evi yo ak moun Jebis yo.
21 their sons who are left behind them in the land, whom the sons of Israel have not been able to devote—he has even lifted up a tribute of service [on] them to this day.
Lè moun Izrayèl yo te fin pran peyi Kanaran an pou yo, gen anpil nan moun ansyen mèt peyi a yo pa t' touye pou Bondye. Yo te kite yo rete nan peyi a. Se pitit moun sa yo Salomon te pran sèvi esklav pou fè kòve. Se sa k'ap fèt jouk jounen jòdi a.
22 And Solomon has not appointed a servant out of the sons of Israel, for they [are] the men of war, and his servants, and his heads, and his captains, and the heads of his chariots, and his horsemen.
Salomon pa t' fè ankenn moun nan pèp Izrayèl la sèvi esklav. Li te fè yo sèvi sòlda, ofisye, chèf, kaptenn ak kòmandan cha lagè yo ak kavalye yo.
23 These [are] the five hundred and fifty heads of the officers who [are] over the work of Solomon, those ruling among the people who are laboring in the work.
Te gen senksansenkant (550) fòmann gouvènè yo te nonmen reskonsab travay li yo. Se yo ki t'ap dirije moun ki t'ap travay yo.
24 Only, the daughter of Pharaoh went up out of the City of David to her house that [Solomon] built for her; then he built Millo.
Pitit fi farawon an kite Lavil David la, l' al rete nan palè Salomon te bati pou li a. Se apre sa Salomon fè ranbleye pòsyon ki bay sou solèy leve a.
25 And Solomon caused burnt-offerings and peace-offerings to ascend three times in a year on the altar that he built for YHWH, and he burned it as incense with that which [is] before YHWH, and finished the house.
Twa fwa chak lanne, Salomon te ofri bèt pou yo boule nèt pou Bondye ak ofrann pou di Bondye mèsi sou lotèl li te bati pou Seyè a, epi li fè boule lansan sou lotèl ki devan Seyè a. Se konsa, li te fè Tanp lan sèvi pou sa yo te bati l' la.
26 And King Solomon has made a navy in Ezion-Geber, that is beside Eloth, on the edge of the Sea of Suph, in the land of Edom.
Wa Salomon te bati yon bann gwo batiman lavil Ezyongebè ki te toupre Elat, bò lanmè Wouj la, nan pòsyon tè ki pou Edon an.
27 And Hiram sends his servants in the navy, shipmen knowing the sea, with servants of Solomon,
wa Iram te voye kèk moun peyi l' ki te bon maren pou sèvi ansanm ak moun Salomon yo sou batiman yo.
28 and they come to Ophir, and take four hundred and twenty talents of gold from there, and bring [it] to King Solomon.
Yo vwayaje rive peyi Ofi kote y' al chache sèz tòn lò pote bay Salomon.
