1 Kings 6
1 And it comes to pass, in the four hundred and eightieth year of the going out of the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, in the fourth year—in the month of Ziv, it [is] the second month—of the reigning of Solomon over Israel, that he builds the house for YHWH.
El año cuatrocientos ochenta después de la salida de los hijos de Israel de la tierra de Egipto, el cuarto año del reinado de Salomón sobre Israel, en el mes de Zif, que es el mes segundo (Salomón) comenzó a edificar la Casa de Yahvé.
2 As for the house that King Solomon has built for YHWH, its length [is] sixty cubits, and its breadth twenty, and its height thirty cubits.
La Casa que el rey Salomón edificó para Yahvé tenía sesenta codos de largo, veinte codos de ancho y treinta codos de alto.
3 As for the porch on the front of the temple of the house, its length [is] twenty cubits on the front of the breadth of the house; its breadth [is] ten by the cubit on the front of the house;
Delante de la Casa había un pórtico de veinte codos de largo, correspondiente al ancho de la Casa, y de diez codos de fondo por delante de la Casa.
4 and he makes frames of narrowing windows for the house.
Hizo en la Casa también ventanas, que dejaban entrar un poco de luz,
5 And he builds a couch against the wall of the house all around, [even] the walls of the house all around, of the temple and of the oracle, and makes sides all around.
y todo en derredor de las paredes de la Casa construyó pisos laterales, adosados a las paredes de la Casa, así del Templo como del Santísimo; y en ellos hizo cámaras laterales en todo su derredor.
6 The lowest couch, its breadth [is] five by the cubit; and the middle, its breadth [is] six by the cubit; and the third, its breadth [is] seven by the cubit, for he has put withdrawings of the house all around outside—not to lay hold on the walls of the house.
El piso de abajo tenía cinco codos de ancho; el de en medio, seis codos de ancho, y el tercero, siete codos de ancho; porque se hicieron encogimientos en el muro exterior, todo alrededor de la Casa, para que (las vigas) no entrasen en las paredes mismas de la Casa.
7 And the house, in its being built, has been built of perfect stone [that was] brought; and hammer and the axe—any instrument of iron—was not heard in the house in its being built.
En la construcción de la Casa se usaban solamente piedras, labradas ya en las canteras, de manera que durante la construcción no se dejó oír en la Casa ni martillo, ni punzón, ni ningún instrumento de hierro.
8 The opening of the middle side [is] at the right shoulder of the house, and with windings they go up on the middle one, and from the middle one to the third.
La entrada a las cámaras del piso inferior estaba en la parte derecha de la Casa; por una escalera de caracol se subía al piso de en medio, y de este al tercero.
9 And he builds the house, and completes it, and covers the house [with] beams and rows of cedars.
Así edificó (Salomón) la Casa, y cuando la hubo terminado, la cubrió con vigas y tablas de cedro.
10 And he builds the couch against all the house, its breadth [is] five cubits, and it takes hold of the house by cedar-wood.
A los pisos laterales que edificó junto a (la pared) de la Casa, les dio una altura de cinco codos y los trabó con la Casa por medio de maderas de cedro.
11 And the word of YHWH is to Solomon, saying,
Después de lo cual llegó esta palabra de Yahvé a Salomón:
12 “This house that you are building—if you walk in My statutes, and do My judgments, indeed, have done all My commands, to walk in them, then I have established My word with you, which I spoke to your father David,
“(Me agrada) esta Casa que estás edificando; si tú siguieres mis leyes, y cumplieres mis preceptos, y observares todos mis mandamientos, practicándolos, entonces Yo cumpliré contigo mi promesa que he dado a David, tu padre;
13 and have dwelt in the midst of the sons of Israel, and do not forsake My people Israel.”
y habitaré en medio de los hijos de Israel, y no abandonaré a Israel, mi pueblo.”
14 And Solomon builds the house and completes it;
Así, pues, Salomón edificó la Casa y la acabó.
15 and he builds the walls of the house within with beams of cedar, from the floor of the house to the walls of the ceiling; he has overlaid the inside with wood, and covers the floor of the house with ribs of fir.
Después revistió la parte interior de las paredes de la Casa con tablas de cedro, desde el suelo de la Casa hasta la altura del techo; las cubrió por dentro con maderas, y cubrió también el suelo de la casa con maderas de ciprés.
16 And he builds the twenty cubits on the sides of the house with ribs of cedar, from the floor to the walls; and he builds for it within, for the oracle, for the Holy of Holies.
Asimismo revistió los veinte codos del fondo de la Casa con tablas de cedro, desde el suelo hasta el techo, y reservó su espacio interior para el Sancta Sanctorum, o sea, el Santísimo.
17 And [this area of] the house was forty by the cubit; it [is the area of] the temple before My face.
La Casa, es decir, el Templo delante del (Santísimo), tenía cuarenta codos (de largo).
18 And the cedar for the house within [is] carvings of knobs and openings of flowers; the whole [is] cedar, there is not a stone seen.
La madera de cedro, en el interior de la Casa, presentaba entalladuras de coloquíntidas y guirnaldas de flores. Todo era de cedro; no se dejaba ver piedra alguna.
19 And he has prepared the oracle in the midst of the house within, to put the Ark of the Covenant of YHWH there.
El Santísimo lo estableció en el fondo, en la parte más interior de la Casa, para poner allí el Arca de la Alianza de Yahvé.
20 And before the oracle [is] twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and its height [is] twenty cubits; and he overlays it with gold refined, and overlays the altar with cedar.
El interior del Santísimo tenía veinte codos de largo, veinte codos de ancho y veinte codos de alto. Lo revistió de oro fino, pero el altar lo recubrió de cedro.
21 And Solomon overlays the house within with gold refined, and causes [it] to pass over in chains of gold before the oracle, and overlays it with gold.
Así revistió Salomón el interior de la Casa de oro fino, e hizo tender cadenas de oro delante del Santísimo, que también revistió de oro,
22 And he has overlaid the whole of the house with gold, until the completion of all the house; and the whole of the altar that the oracle has, he has overlaid with gold.
de manera que revistió de oro toda la Casa, la casa toda entera. Asimismo cubrió de oro todo el altar que estaba delante del Santísimo.
23 And he makes two cherubim of the oil-tree within the oracle; their height [is] ten cubits;
Hizo en el Santísimo dos querubines de madera de olivo, de diez codos de altura cada uno.
24 and the first wing of the cherub [is] five cubits, and the second wing of the cherub five cubits—ten cubits from the ends of his wings even to the ends of his wings;
Cinco codos tenía la una de las alas de (cada) querubín, y cinco codos tenía la otra ala del querubín. Había, pues, diez codos desde la punta de una ala hasta la punta de la otra.
25 and the second cherub [is] ten by the cubit; one measure and one form [are] of the two cherubim,
Diez codos tenía también el segundo querubín. Una misma medida, y una misma forma tenían los dos querubines.
26 the height of the first cherub [is] ten by the cubit, and so [is] the second cherub;
La altura de un querubín era de diez codos; así era también el otro querubín.
27 and he sets the cherubim in the midst of the inner house, and they spread out the wings of the cherubim, and a wing of the first comes against the wall, and a wing of the second cherub is coming against the second wall, and their wings [stretched] into the midst of the house, coming wing against wing;
Colocó a los querubines en medio de la Casa interior. Los querubines tenían las alas desplegadas, de suerte que el ala del uno tocaba en la pared, y el ala del segundo querubín tocaba en la otra pared, y se tocaban, ala con ala, en el medio de la Casa.
28 and he overlays the cherubim with gold,
Cubrió también de oro a los querubines.
29 and he has carved all around the walls of the house with engravings of carvings, cherubim, and palm trees, and openings of flowers, inside and outside.
En todas las paredes que rodeaban la Casa hizo esculpir figuras entalladas de querubines, de palmas y de guirnaldas de flores, tanto por dentro como por fuera.
30 And he has overlaid the floor of the house with gold, inside and outside;
Cubrió asimismo de oro el pavimento de la Casa, por dentro y por fuera.
31 as for the opening of the oracle, he made doors of the oil-tree; the lintel [and] doorposts [are] a fifth [of the wall].
Las dos hojas de la puerta del Santísimo las hizo de madera de olivo. El jambaje de ellas con los postes ocupaba la quinta parte (de la pared).
32 And the two doors [are] of the oil-tree, and he has carved on them carvings of cherubim, and palm-trees, and openings of flowers, and overlaid with gold, and he causes the gold to go down on the cherubim and on the palm-trees.
Sobre las dos hojas de madera de olivo esculpió entalladuras de querubines, de palmas y de guirnaldas de flores, y las revistió de oro, extendiendo el oro sobre los querubines y sobre las palmas.
33 And so he has made for the opening of the temple, doorposts of the oil-tree, from the fourth [of the wall].
Hizo, además, para la puerta del Templo postes de madera de olivo, que ocupaban la cuarta parte (de la pared)
34 And the two doors [are] of fir-tree, the two sides of the first door are revolving, and the two hangings of the second door are revolving.
y dos hojas de madera de ciprés. La primera hoja se componía de dos tablas giratorias, la segunda hoja tenía también dos tablas giratorias.
35 And he has carved cherubim, and palms, and openings of flowers, and overlaid the carved work with straightened gold.
Esculpió sobre ellas querubines, palmas y guirnaldas de flores, y las revistió de oro, ajustándolo a las entalladuras.
36 And he builds the inner court, three rows of hewn work, and a row of beams of cedar.
Hizo también el atrio interior de tres órdenes de piedras labradas, y un orden de vigas de cedro.
37 In the fourth year the house of YHWH has been founded, in the month of Ziv,
Echáronse los cimientos de la Casa de Yahvé el año cuarto, en el mes de Zif;
38 and in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul (the eighth month), the house has been finished in all its matters, and in all its ordinances, and he builds it [in] seven years.
y el año undécimo, en el mes de Bul, que es el mes octavo, se terminó la Casa en todas sus partes y con arreglo a todo lo dispuesto. La edificó en siete años.
