1 Kings 3
1 And Solomon joins in marriage with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and takes the daughter of Pharaoh, and brings her to the City of David, until he completes to build his own house, and the house of YHWH, and the wall of Jerusalem all around.
Έκαμε δε ο Σολομών επιγαμίαν μετά του Φαραώ, βασιλέως της Αιγύπτου, και έλαβε την θυγατέρα του Φαραώ· και έφερεν αυτήν εις την πόλιν Δαβίδ, εωσού ετελείωσε να οικοδομή τον οίκον αυτού και τον οίκον του Κυρίου και το τείχος της Ιερουσαλήμ κύκλω.
2 Only, the people are sacrificing in high places, for there has not been built a house for the Name of YHWH until those days.
Πλην ο λαός εθυσίαζεν επί τους υψηλούς τόπους, επειδή δεν ήτο ωκοδομημένος οίκος εις το όνομα του Κυρίου, έως των ημερών εκείνων.
3 And Solomon loves YHWH, to walk in the statutes of his father David—only, he is sacrificing and making incense in high places—
Και ηγάπησεν ο Σολομών τον Κύριον, περιπατών εις τα προστάγματα Δαβίδ του πατρός αυτού· μόνον εθυσίαζε και εθυμίαζεν επί τους υψηλούς τόπους.
4 and the king goes to Gibeon, to sacrifice there, for it [is] the great high place; Solomon causes one thousand burnt-offerings to ascend on that altar.
Και υπήγεν ο βασιλεύς εις Γαβαών, διά να θυσιάση εκεί· διότι εκείνος ήτο ο υψηλός τόπος ο μέγας· χίλια ολοκαυτώματα προσέφερεν ο Σολομών επί το θυσιαστήριον εκείνο.
5 YHWH has appeared to Solomon in Gibeon, in a dream of the night, and God says, “Ask—what do I give to you?”
Εφάνη δε ο Κύριος εν Γαβαών εις τον Σολομώντα καθ' ύπνον διά νυκτός· και είπεν ο Θεός, Ζήτησον τι να σοι δώσω.
6 And Solomon says, “You have done with Your servant, my father David, great kindness, as he walked before You in truth and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You, and You keep this great kindness for him, and give to him a son sitting on his throne, as [at] this day.
Ο δε Σολομών είπε, Συ έκαμες μέγα έλεος προς τον δούλον σου Δαβίδ τον πατέρα μου, επειδή περιεπάτησεν ενώπιόν σου εν αληθεία και εν δικαιοσύνη και εν ευθύτητι καρδίας μετά σού· και εφύλαξας εις αυτόν το μέγα τούτο έλεος και έδωκας εις αυτόν υιόν καθήμενον επί του θρόνου αυτού, καθώς την ημέραν ταύτην·
7 And now, O YHWH my God, You have caused Your servant to reign instead of my father David; and I [am] a little child, I do not know [how] to go out and to come in;
και τώρα, Κύριε Θεέ μου, συ έκαμες τον δούλον σου βασιλέα αντί Δαβίδ του πατρός μου· και εγώ είμαι παιδάριον μικρόν· δεν εξεύρω πως να εξέρχωμαι και να εισέρχωμαι·
8 and Your servant [is] in the midst of your people, whom You have chosen, a people numerous, that is not numbered nor counted for multitude,
και ο δούλός σου είναι εν μέσω του λαού σου, τον οποίον εξέλεξας, λαού μεγάλου, όστις εκ του πλήθους δεν δύναται να αριθμηθή ουδέ να λογαριασθή·
9 and You have given an understanding heart to Your servant, to judge Your people, to discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”
δος λοιπόν εις τον δούλον σου καρδίαν νοήμονα εις το να κρίνη τον λαόν σου, διά να διακρίνω μεταξύ καλού και κακού· διότι τις δύναται να κρίνη τον λαόν σου τούτον τον μέγαν;
10 And the thing is good in the eyes of the Lord, that Solomon has asked this thing,
Και ήρεσεν ο λόγος εις τον Κύριον, ότι ο Σολομών εζήτησε το πράγμα τούτο.
11 and God says to him, “Because that you have asked for this thing, and have not asked for many days for yourself, nor asked for riches for yourself, nor asked for the life of your enemies, and have asked for discernment for yourself to understand judgment,
Και είπεν ο Θεός προς αυτόν, Επειδή εζήτησας το πράγμα τούτο, και δεν εζήτησας εις σεαυτόν πολυζωΐαν, και δεν εζήτησας εις σεαυτόν πλούτη, και δεν εζήτησας την ζωήν των εχθρών σου, αλλ' εζήτησας εις σεαυτόν σύνεσιν διά να εννοής κρίσιν,
12 behold, I have done according to your words; behold, I have given a wise and understanding heart to you, that there has not been [one] like you before you, and after you there does not arise [one] like you;
ιδού, έκαμα κατά τους λόγους σου· ιδού, έδωκα εις σε καρδίαν σοφήν και συνετήν, ώστε δεν εστάθη πρότερόν σου όμοιός σου, ουδέ μετά σε θέλει αναστηθή όμοιός σου·
13 and also, that which you have not asked for I have given to you, both riches and honor, that there has not been a man like you among the kings [for] all your days;
έτι δε έδωκα εις σε και ό, τι δεν εζήτησας, και πλούτον και δόξαν, ώστε μεταξύ των βασιλέων δεν θέλει είσθαι ουδείς όμοιός σου καθ' όλας τας ημέρας σου·
14 and if you walk in My ways to keep My statutes, and My commands, as your father David walked, then I have prolonged your days.”
και εάν περιπατής εις τας οδούς μου, φυλάττων τα διατάγματά μου και τας εντολάς μου, καθώς περιεπάτησε Δαβίδ ο πατήρ σου, τότε θέλω μακρύνει τας ημέρας σου.
15 And Solomon awakens, and behold, [it was] a dream; and he comes to Jerusalem, and stands before the Ark of the Covenant of YHWH, and causes burnt-offerings to ascend, and makes peace-offerings, and he makes a banquet for all his servants.
Και εξύπνησεν ο Σολομών· και ιδού, ήτο ενύπνιον. Και ήλθεν εις Ιερουσαλήμ και εστάθη ενώπιον της κιβωτού της διαθήκης του Κυρίου, και προσέφερεν ολοκαυτώματα και έκαμεν ειρηνικάς προσφοράς και έκαμε συμπόσιον εις πάντας τους δούλους αυτού.
16 Then two women, harlots, come to the king, and they stand before him,
Τότε ήλθον δύο γυναίκες πόρναι προς τον βασιλέα και εστάθησαν έμπροσθεν αυτού.
17 and the first woman says, “O my lord, this woman and I are dwelling in one house, and I bring forth with her, in the house;
Και είπεν η μία γυνή, Ω, κύριέ μου εγώ και η γυνή αύτη κατοικούμεν εν τη αυτή οικία, και εγέννησα συγκατοικούσα μετ' αυτής·
18 and it comes to pass on the third day of my bringing forth, that this woman also brings forth, and we [are] together, there is no stranger with us in the house, except the two of us, in the house.
την δε τρίτην ημέραν αφού εγώ εγέννησα, εγέννησε και η γυνή αύτη· και ήμεθα ομού· δεν ήτο ξένος μεθ' ημών εν τη οικία· μόνον ημείς αι δύο ήμεθα εν τη οικία·
19 And the son of this woman dies at night, because she has lain on him,
και την νύκτα απέθανεν ο υιός της γυναικός ταύτης, επειδή εκοιμήθη επ' αυτόν·
20 and she rises in the middle of the night, and takes my son from beside me—and your handmaid is asleep—and lays him in her bosom, and she has laid her dead son in my bosom;
και αυτή σηκωθείσα το μεσονύκτιον, έλαβε τον υιόν μου εκ του πλαγίου μου, ενώ η δούλη σου εκοιμάτο, και έβαλεν αυτόν εις τον κόλπον αυτής· τον δε υιόν αυτής τον νεκρόν έβαλεν εις τον κόλπον μου·
21 and I rise in the morning to suckle my son, and behold, [he is] dead; and I consider in the morning concerning it, and behold, it was not my son whom I bore.”
και ότε εσηκώθην το πρωΐ, διά να θηλάσω τον υιόν μου, ιδού, ήτο νεκρός· πλην αφού το πρωΐ παρετήρησα αυτό, ιδού, δεν ήτο ο υιός μου τον οποίον εγέννησα.
22 And the other woman says, “No, but my son [is] the living, and your son the dead”; and this [one] says, “No, but your son [is] the dead, and my son the living.” And they speak before the king.
Η δε άλλη γυνή είπεν, Ουχί, αλλ' ο ζων είναι ο υιός μου, ο δε νεκρός είναι ο υιός σου. Η δε είπεν, Ουχί, αλλ' ο νεκρός είναι ο υιός σου, ο δε ζων είναι ο υιός μου. Ούτως ελάλησαν ενώπιον του βασιλέως.
23 And the king says, “This [one] says, This [is] my son, the living, and your son [is] the dead; and that [one] says, No, but your son [is] the dead, and my son the living.”
Και είπεν ο βασιλεύς, Η μεν λέγει, Ούτος ο ζων είναι ο υιός μου, ο δε νεκρός είναι ο υιός σου· η δε λέγει, Ουχί, αλλ' ο νεκρός είναι ο υιός σου, ο δε ζων είναι ο υιός μου.
24 And the king says, “Take a sword for me”; and they bring the sword before the king,
Και είπεν ο βασιλεύς, φέρετέ μοι μάχαιραν. Και έφεραν την μάχαιραν έμπροσθεν του βασιλέως.
25 and the king says, “Cut the living child into two, and give half to one, and half to the other.”
Και είπεν ο βασιλεύς, Διαιρέσατε εις δύο το παιδίον το ζων, και δότε το ήμισυ εις την μίαν και το ήμισυ εις την άλλην.
26 And the woman whose son [is] the living one says to the king (for her bowels yearned over her son), indeed, she says, “O my lord, give the living child to her, and do not put him to death at all”; and this [one] says, “Let him be neither mine or yours—cut [him].”
Τότε η γυνή, της οποίας ήτο ο υιός ο ζων, ελάλησε προς τον βασιλέα, διότι τα σπλάγχνα αυτής επόνεσαν διά τον υιόν αυτής, και είπεν, Ω, κύριέ μου, δος εις αυτήν το παιδίον το ζων, και κατ' ουδένα τρόπον μη θανατώσης αυτό. Η δε άλλη είπε, Μήτε ιδικόν μου ας ήναι, μήτε ιδικόν σου· διαιρέσατε αυτό.
27 And the king answers and says, “Give the living child to her [who wants him], and do not put him to death at all; she [is] his mother.”
Τότε αποκριθείς ο βασιλεύς, είπε, Δότε εις αυτήν το παιδίον το ζων, και κατ' ουδένα τρόπον μη θανατώσητε αυτό· αύτη είναι μήτηρ αυτού.
28 And all [in] Israel hear of the judgment that the king has judged, and fear because of the king, for they have seen that the wisdom of God [is] in his heart to do judgment.
Και ήκουσε πας ο Ισραήλ περί της κρίσεως, την οποίαν ο βασιλεύς έκρινε, και εφοβήθησαν τον βασιλέα· διότι είδον ότι σοφία Θεού ήτο εν αυτώ διά να κάμνη κρίσιν·
