1 Kings 3
1 And Solomon joins in marriage with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and takes the daughter of Pharaoh, and brings her to the City of David, until he completes to build his own house, and the house of YHWH, and the wall of Jerusalem all around.
Und Salomo verschwägerte sich mit Pharao, dem König in Ägypten und nahm Pharaos Tochter und brachte sie in die Stadt Davids, bis er ausbaute sein Haus und des HERRN Haus und die Mauer um Jerusalem her.
2 Only, the people are sacrificing in high places, for there has not been built a house for the Name of YHWH until those days.
Aber das Volk opferte noch auf den Höhen; denn es war noch kein Haus gebaut dem Namen des HERRN bis auf die Zeit.
3 And Solomon loves YHWH, to walk in the statutes of his father David—only, he is sacrificing and making incense in high places—
Salomo aber hatte den HERRN lieb und wandelte nach den Sitten seines Vaters David, nur daß er auf den Höhen opferte und räucherte.
4 and the king goes to Gibeon, to sacrifice there, for it [is] the great high place; Solomon causes one thousand burnt-offerings to ascend on that altar.
Und der König ging hin gen Gibeon daselbst zu opfern; denn das war die vornehmste Höhe. Und Salomo opferte tausend Brandopfer auf demselben Altar.
5 YHWH has appeared to Solomon in Gibeon, in a dream of the night, and God says, “Ask—what do I give to you?”
Und der HERR erschien Salomo zu Gibeon im Traum des Nachts, und Gott sprach: Bitte, was ich dir geben soll!
6 And Solomon says, “You have done with Your servant, my father David, great kindness, as he walked before You in truth and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You, and You keep this great kindness for him, and give to him a son sitting on his throne, as [at] this day.
Salomo sprach: Du hast an meinem Vater David, deinem Knecht, große Barmherzigkeit getan, wie er denn vor dir gewandelt ist in Wahrheit und Gerechtigkeit und mit richtigem Herzen vor dir, und hast ihm diese große Barmherzigkeit gehalten und ihm einen Sohn gegeben, der auf seinem Stuhl säße, wie es denn jetzt geht.
7 And now, O YHWH my God, You have caused Your servant to reign instead of my father David; and I [am] a little child, I do not know [how] to go out and to come in;
Nun, HERR, mein Gott, du hast deinen Knecht zum König gemacht an meines Vaters David Statt. So bin ich ein junger Knabe, weiß weder meinen Ausgang noch Eingang.
8 and Your servant [is] in the midst of your people, whom You have chosen, a people numerous, that is not numbered nor counted for multitude,
Und dein Knecht ist unter dem Volk, das du erwählt hast, einem Volke, so groß das es niemand zählen noch beschreiben kann vor der Menge.
9 and You have given an understanding heart to Your servant, to judge Your people, to discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”
So wollest du deinem Knecht geben ein gehorsames Herz, daß er dein Volk richten möge und verstehen, was gut und böse ist. Denn wer vermag dies dein mächtiges Volk zu richten?
10 And the thing is good in the eyes of the Lord, that Solomon has asked this thing,
Das gefiel dem Herrn wohl, daß Salomo um ein solches bat.
11 and God says to him, “Because that you have asked for this thing, and have not asked for many days for yourself, nor asked for riches for yourself, nor asked for the life of your enemies, and have asked for discernment for yourself to understand judgment,
Und Gott sprach zu ihm: Weil du solches bittest und bittest nicht um langes Leben noch um Reichtum noch um deiner Feinde Seele, sondern um Verstand, Gericht zu hören,
12 behold, I have done according to your words; behold, I have given a wise and understanding heart to you, that there has not been [one] like you before you, and after you there does not arise [one] like you;
siehe, so habe ich getan nach deinen Worten. Siehe, ich habe dir ein weises und verständiges Herz gegeben, daß deinesgleichen vor dir nicht gewesen ist und nach dir nicht aufkommen wird.
13 and also, that which you have not asked for I have given to you, both riches and honor, that there has not been a man like you among the kings [for] all your days;
Dazu, was du nicht gebeten hast, habe ich dir auch gegeben, sowohl Reichtum als Ehre, daß deinesgleichen keiner unter den Königen ist zu deinen Zeiten.
14 and if you walk in My ways to keep My statutes, and My commands, as your father David walked, then I have prolonged your days.”
Und so du wirst in meinen Wegen wandeln, daß du hältst meine Sitten und Gebote, wie dein Vater David gewandelt hat, so will ich dir geben ein langes Leben.
15 And Solomon awakens, and behold, [it was] a dream; and he comes to Jerusalem, and stands before the Ark of the Covenant of YHWH, and causes burnt-offerings to ascend, and makes peace-offerings, and he makes a banquet for all his servants.
Und da Salomo erwachte, siehe, da war es ein Traum. Und er kam gen Jerusalem und trat vor die Lade des Bundes des HERRN und opferte Brandopfer und Dankopfer und machte ein großes Mahl allen seinen Knechten.
16 Then two women, harlots, come to the king, and they stand before him,
Zu der Zeit kamen zwei Huren zum König und traten vor ihn.
17 and the first woman says, “O my lord, this woman and I are dwelling in one house, and I bring forth with her, in the house;
Und das eine Weib sprach: Ach, mein Herr, ich und dies Weib wohnten in einem Hause, und ich gebar bei ihr im Hause.
18 and it comes to pass on the third day of my bringing forth, that this woman also brings forth, and we [are] together, there is no stranger with us in the house, except the two of us, in the house.
Und über drei Tage, da ich geboren hatte, gebar sie auch. Und wir waren beieinander, daß kein Fremder mit uns war im Hause, nur wir beide.
19 And the son of this woman dies at night, because she has lain on him,
Und dieses Weibes Sohn starb in der Nacht; denn sie hatte ihn im Schlaf erdrückt.
20 and she rises in the middle of the night, and takes my son from beside me—and your handmaid is asleep—and lays him in her bosom, and she has laid her dead son in my bosom;
Und sie stand in der Nacht auf und nahm meinen Sohn von meiner Seite, da deine Magd schlief, und legte ihn an ihren Arm, und ihren toten Sohn legte sie an meinen Arm.
21 and I rise in the morning to suckle my son, and behold, [he is] dead; and I consider in the morning concerning it, and behold, it was not my son whom I bore.”
Und da ich des Morgens aufstand, meinen Sohn zu säugen, siehe, da war er tot. Aber am Morgen sah ich ihn genau an, und siehe, es war nicht mein Sohn, den ich geboren hatte.
22 And the other woman says, “No, but my son [is] the living, and your son the dead”; and this [one] says, “No, but your son [is] the dead, and my son the living.” And they speak before the king.
Das andere Weib sprach: Nicht also; mein Sohn lebt, und dein Sohn ist tot. Jene aber sprach: Nicht also; dein Sohn ist tot, und mein Sohn lebt. Und redeten also vor dem König.
23 And the king says, “This [one] says, This [is] my son, the living, and your son [is] the dead; and that [one] says, No, but your son [is] the dead, and my son the living.”
Und der König sprach: Diese spricht: mein Sohn lebt, und dein Sohn ist tot; jene spricht: Nicht also; dein Sohn ist tot, und mein Sohn lebt.
24 And the king says, “Take a sword for me”; and they bring the sword before the king,
Und der König sprach: Holet mir ein Schwert her! und da das Schwert vor den König gebracht ward,
25 and the king says, “Cut the living child into two, and give half to one, and half to the other.”
sprach der König: Teilt das lebendige Kind in zwei Teile und gebt dieser die Hälfte und jener die Hälfte.
26 And the woman whose son [is] the living one says to the king (for her bowels yearned over her son), indeed, she says, “O my lord, give the living child to her, and do not put him to death at all”; and this [one] says, “Let him be neither mine or yours—cut [him].”
Da sprach das Weib, des Sohn lebte, zum König (denn ihr mütterliches Herz entbrannte über ihren Sohn): Ach, mein Herr, gebt ihr das Kind lebendig und tötet es nicht! Jene aber sprach: Es sei weder mein noch dein; laßt es teilen!
27 And the king answers and says, “Give the living child to her [who wants him], and do not put him to death at all; she [is] his mother.”
Da antwortete der König und sprach: Gebet dieser das Kind lebendig und tötet es nicht; die ist seine Mutter.
28 And all [in] Israel hear of the judgment that the king has judged, and fear because of the king, for they have seen that the wisdom of God [is] in his heart to do judgment.
Und das Urteil, das der König gefällt hatte, erscholl vor dem ganzen Israel, und sie fürchteten sich vor dem König; denn sie sahen, daß die Weisheit Gottes in ihm war, Gericht zu halten.
