1 Kings 22
1 And they sit still three years; there is no war between Aram and Israel.
Und [2. Chron. 18] sie blieben drei Jahre ruhig; es war kein Krieg zwischen Syrien und Israel.
2 And it comes to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat king of Judah comes down to the king of Israel,
Und es geschah im dritten Jahre, da kam Josaphat, der König von Juda, zu dem König von Israel herab.
3 and the king of Israel says to his servants, “Have you not known that Ramoth-Gilead [is] ours? And we are keeping silent from taking it out of the hand of the king of Aram!”
Und der König von Israel sprach zu seinen Knechten: Wisset ihr nicht, daß Ramoth-Gilead unser ist? Und wir bleiben still und nehmen es nicht aus der Hand des Königs von Syrien?
4 And he says to Jehoshaphat, “Do you go with me to battle [against] Ramoth-Gilead?” And Jehoshaphat says to the king of Israel, “As I am, so [are] you; as my people, so your people; as my horses, so your horses.”
Und er sprach zu Josaphat: Willst du mit mir nach Ramoth-Gilead in den Streit ziehen? Und Josaphat sprach zu dem König von Israel: Ich will sein wie du, mein Volk wie dein Volk, meine Rosse wie deine Rosse!
5 And Jehoshaphat says to the king of Israel, “Please seek the word of YHWH today”;
Und Josaphat sprach zu dem König von Israel: Befrage doch heute [O. vorerst] das Wort Jehovas.
6 and the king of Israel gathers the prophets, about four hundred men, and says to them, “Do I go to battle against Ramoth-Gilead, or do I refrain?” And they say, “Go up, and the Lord gives [it] into the hand of the king.”
Da versammelte der König von Israel die Propheten, bei vierhundert Mann, und er sprach zu ihnen: Soll ich wider Ramoth-Gilead in den Streit ziehen, oder soll ich davon abstehen? Und sie sprachen: Ziehe hinauf, und der Herr wird es in die Hand des Königs geben.
7 And Jehoshaphat says, “[Is there] not a prophet of YHWH still here that we may seek from him?”
Aber Josaphat sprach: Ist hier kein Prophet Jehovas mehr, daß wir durch ihn fragen?
8 And the king of Israel says to Jehoshaphat, “Yet one man [remains] to seek YHWH from him, and I have hated him, for he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil—Micaiah son of Imlah”; and Jehoshaphat says, “Do not let the king say so.”
Und der König von Israel sprach zu Josaphat: Es ist noch ein Mann da, um durch ihn Jehova zu befragen; aber ich hasse ihn, denn er weissagt nichts Gutes über mich, sondern nur Böses: Micha, der Sohn Jimlas. Und Josaphat sprach: Der König spreche nicht also!
9 And the king of Israel calls to a certain eunuch and says, “Hurry along Micaiah son of Imlah.”
Da rief der König von Israel einen Kämmerer und sprach: Bringe Micha, den Sohn Jimlas, eilends her!
10 And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah are sitting, each on his throne, clothed with garments, in a threshing-floor, at the opening of the Gate of Samaria, and all the prophets are prophesying before them.
Und der König von Israel und Josaphat, der König von Juda, saßen ein jeder auf seinem Throne, angetan mit königlichen Kleidern, auf einem freien Platze am Eingang des Tores von Samaria; und alle Propheten weissagten vor ihnen.
11 And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah makes horns of iron for himself and says, “Thus said YHWH: By these you push the Arameans until they are consumed”;
Und Zedekia, [H. Zidkija] der Sohn Kenaanas, machte sich eiserne Hörner und sprach: So spricht Jehova: Mit diesen wirst du die Syrer stoßen, bis du sie vernichtet hast.
12 and all the prophets are prophesying so, saying, “Go up to Ramoth-Gilead, and prosper, and YHWH has given [it] into the hand of the king.”
Und alle Propheten weissagten ebenso und sprachen: Ziehe hinauf nach Ramoth-Gilead, und es wird dir gelingen; denn Jehova wird es in die Hand des Königs geben.
13 And the messenger who has gone to call Micaiah has spoken to him, saying, “Now behold, the words of the prophets, with one mouth, [are] good toward the king; please let your word be as the word of one of them—and you have spoken good.”
Und der Bote, der hingegangen war, Micha zu rufen, redete zu ihm und sprach: Siehe doch, die Worte der Propheten verkündigen einstimmig dem König Gutes; laß doch dein Wort sein wie das Wort eines von ihnen und rede Gutes.
14 And Micaiah says, “YHWH lives; surely that which YHWH says to me—it I speak.”
Aber Micha sprach: So wahr Jehova lebt, was Jehova mir sagen wird, das werde ich reden!
15 And he comes to the king, and the king says to him, “Micaiah, do we go to Ramoth-Gilead, to battle, or do we refrain?” And he says to him, “Go up, and prosper, and YHWH has given [it] into the hand of the king.”
Und als er zu dem König kam, sprach der König zu ihm: Micha, sollen wir nach Ramoth-Gilead in den Streit ziehen, oder sollen wir davon abstehen? Und er sprach zu ihm: Ziehe hinauf, und es wird dir gelingen; denn Jehova wird es in die Hand des Königs geben.
16 And the king says to him, “How many times am I adjuring you that you speak nothing to me but truth in the Name of YHWH?”
Und der König sprach zu ihm: Wie viele Male muß ich dich beschwören, daß du nichts zu mir reden sollst als nur Wahrheit im Namen Jehovas?
17 And he says, “I have seen all Israel scattered on the hills as sheep that have no shepherd, and YHWH says, These have no master; let them return—each to his house in peace.”
Da sprach er: Ich sah ganz Israel auf den Bergen zerstreut, wie Schafe, die keinen Hirten haben. Und Jehova sprach: Diese haben keinen Herrn; sie sollen ein jeder nach seinem Hause zurückkehren in Frieden.
18 And the king of Israel says to Jehoshaphat, “Have I not said to you, He does not prophesy of me good, but evil?”
Und der König von Israel sprach zu Josaphat: Habe ich dir nicht gesagt: Er weissagt nichts Gutes über mich, sondern nur Böses?
19 And he says, “Therefore, hear a word of YHWH! I have seen YHWH sitting on His throne, and all the host of the heavens standing by Him, on His right and on His left;
Und er sprach: Darum höre das Wort Jehovas! Ich sah Jehova auf seinem Throne sitzen, und alles Heer des Himmels bei ihm stehen, zu seiner Rechten und zu seiner Linken.
20 and YHWH says, Who entices Ahab, and he goes up and falls in Ramoth-Gilead? And this one says thus, and that one is saying thus.
Und Jehova sprach: Wer will Ahab bereden, daß er hinaufziehe und zu Ramoth-Gilead falle? Und der eine sprach so, und der andere sprach so.
21 And the spirit goes out and stands before YHWH, and says, I entice him; and YHWH says to him, By what?
Da trat ein [Eig. der] Geist hervor und stellte sich vor Jehova und sprach: Ich will ihn bereden. Und Jehova sprach zu ihm: Wodurch?
22 And he says, I go out, and have been a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all his prophets; and He says, You entice, and also you are able; go out and do so.
Und er sprach: Ich will ausgehen und will ein Lügengeist sein in dem Munde aller seiner Propheten. Und er sprach: Du wirst [O. sollst] ihn bereden und wirst es auch ausrichten; gehe aus und tue also!
23 And now, behold, YHWH has put a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all these prophets of yours, and YHWH has spoken calamity concerning you.”
Und nun, siehe, Jehova hat einen Lügengeist in den Mund all dieser deiner Propheten gelegt, und Jehova hat Böses über dich geredet.
24 And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah draws near and strikes Micaiah on the cheek, and says, “Where [is] this [that] the spirit [from] YHWH has passed over from me to speak with you?”
Da trat Zedekia, der Sohn Kenaanas, herzu und schlug Micha auf den Backen und sprach: Wo [d. h. auf welchem Wege] wäre der Geist Jehovas von mir gewichen, um mit dir zu reden?
25 And Micaiah says, “Behold, you are seeing on that day when you go into the innermost chamber to be hidden.”
Und Micha sprach: Siehe, du wirst es sehen an jenem Tage, wenn du ins innerste Gemach [O. von Gemach zu Gemach] gehen wirst, um dich zu verstecken.
26 And the king of Israel says, “Take Micaiah, and turn him back to Amon head of the city, and to Joash son of the king,
Und der König von Israel sprach: Nimm Micha und führe ihn zurück zu Amon, dem Obersten der Stadt, und zu Joas, dem Sohne des Königs,
27 and you have said, Thus said the king: Place this one in the house of restraint, and cause him to eat bread of oppression, and water of oppression, until my coming in peace.”
und sage: So spricht der König: Setzet diesen ins Gefängnis und speiset ihn mit Brot der Trübsal und mit Wasser der Trübsal, bis ich in Frieden heimkomme.
28 And Micaiah says, “If you return in peace at all, YHWH has not spoken by me”; and he says, “Hear, O peoples, all of them.”
Und Micha sprach: Wenn du je in Frieden zurückkehrst, so hat Jehova nicht durch mich geredet! Und er sprach: Höret es, ihr Völker alle!
29 And the king of Israel goes up—and Jehoshaphat king of Judah—to Ramoth-Gilead.
Und der König von Israel und Josaphat, der König von Juda, zogen hinauf nach Ramoth-Gilead.
30 And the king of Israel says to Jehoshaphat to disguise himself, and to go into battle, “And you, put on your garments.” And the king of Israel disguises himself, and goes into battle.
Und der König von Israel sprach zu Josaphat: Ich will mich verkleiden und in den Streit ziehen, du aber lege deine Kleider an. Und der König von Israel verkleidete sich und zog in den Streit.
31 And the king of Aram commanded the thirty-two heads of the charioteers whom he has, saying, “You do not fight with small or with great, but with the king of Israel by himself.”
Der König von Syrien hatte aber seinen 32 Obersten der Wagen geboten und gesagt: Ihr sollt weder wider einen Geringen streiten, noch wider einen Großen, sondern wider den König von Israel allein.
32 And it comes to pass, at the heads of the charioteers seeing Jehoshaphat, that they said, “He [is] surely the king of Israel!” And they turn aside to him to fight, and Jehoshaphat cries out,
Und es geschah, als die Obersten der Wagen Josaphat sahen, -denn sie sprachen: Das ist gewiß der König von Israel! -da lenkten sie auf ihn zu, um zu streiten; und Josaphat schrie.
33 and it comes to pass, at the heads of the charioteers seeing that he [is] not the king of Israel, that they turn back from after him.
Und es geschah, als die Obersten der Wagen sahen, daß er nicht der König von Israel war, da wandten sie sich von ihm ab.
34 And a man has drawn with a bow in his simplicity, and strikes the king of Israel between the joinings and the coat of mail, and he says to his charioteer, “Turn your hand, and take me out from the camp, for I have become sick.”
Und ein Mann spannte den Bogen aufs Geratewohl [W. in seiner Einfalt] und traf den König von Israel zwischen den Panzeranhang und den Panzer. Da sprach er zu seinem Wagenlenker: Wende um [Eig. wende deine Hände] und führe mich aus dem Heere hinaus, denn ich bin verwundet.
35 And the battle increases on that day, and the king has been caused to stand in the chariot, in front of Aram, and he dies in the evening, and the blood of the wound runs out to the midst of the chariot,
Und der Streit nahm überhand an selbigem Tage, und der König wurde aufrecht erhalten in dem Wagen, den Syrern gegenüber; und er starb am Abend; und das Blut der Wunde floß in den Boden des Wagens.
36 and he causes the cry to pass over through the camp, at the going in of the sun, saying, “Each to his city, and each to his land!”
Da erging der laute Ruf durch das Lager beim Untergang der Sonne, indem man sprach: Ein jeder in seine Stadt, und ein jeder in sein Land!
37 And the king dies, and comes into Samaria, and they bury the king in Samaria;
Und so starb der König und kam nach Samaria; und man begrub den König zu Samaria.
38 and [one] rinses the chariot by the pool of Samaria, and the dogs lick his blood when they had washed the armor, according to the word of YHWH that He spoke.
Und als man den Wagen am Teiche von Samaria abspülte, da leckten die Hunde sein Blut [da wo [O. während] die Huren badeten], nach dem Worte Jehovas, das er geredet hatte.
39 And the rest of the matters of Ahab, and all that he did, and the house of ivory that he built, and all the cities that he built, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
Und das Übrige der Geschichte Ahabs und alles, was er getan und das elfenbeinerne Haus, das er gebaut, und alle Städte, die er gebaut hat, ist das nicht geschrieben in dem Buche der Chronika der Könige von Israel?
40 And Ahab lies with his fathers, and his son Ahaziah reigns in his stead.
Und Ahab legte sich zu seinen Vätern. Und Ahasja, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.
41 And Jehoshaphat son of Asa has reigned over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel,
Und [2. Chron. 20,31] Josaphat, der Sohn Asas, wurde König über Juda im vierten Jahre Ahabs, des Königs von Israel.
42 Jehoshaphat [is] a son of thirty-five years in his reigning, and he has reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Azubah daughter of Shilhi.
Josaphat war 35 Jahre alt, als er König wurde, und er regierte 25 Jahre zu Jerusalem; und er Name seiner Mutter war Asuba, die Tochter Schilchis.
43 And he walks in all the way of his father Asa, he has not turned aside from it, to do that which [is] right in the eyes of YHWH; only, the high places have not been removed—the people are still sacrificing and making incense in high places.
Und er wandelte auf allen Wegen [W. allem Wege] seines Vaters Asa; er wich nicht davon, indem er tat, was recht war in den Augen Jehovas.
44 And Jehoshaphat makes peace with the king of Israel;
Nur die Höhen wichen nicht: das Volk opferte und räucherte noch auf den Höhen.
45 and the rest of the matters of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he exercised, and with which he fought, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
Und Josaphat hatte Frieden mit dem König von Israel.
46 And the remnant of the whoremongers who were left in the days of his father Asa he took away out of the land;
Und das Übrige der Geschichte Josaphats, und seine Macht, die er ausgeübt, und wie er gestritten hat, ist das nicht geschrieben in dem Buche der Chronika der Könige von Juda?
47 and there is no king in Edom; he set up a king.
Auch den Rest der Buhler, der in den Tagen seines Vaters Asa übriggeblieben war, schaffte er aus dem Lande hinweg.
48 Jehoshaphat made ships of Tarshish to go to Ophir for gold, and they did not go, for the ships were broken in Ezion-Geber.
Und es war damals kein König in Edom; ein Statthalter war König.
49 Then Ahaziah son of Ahab said to Jehoshaphat, “Let my servants go with your servants in the ships”; and Jehoshaphat was not willing.
Josaphat baute Tarsisschiffe, um nach Ophir zu fahren und Gold zu holen; [W. wegen Gold] aber man fuhr nicht, denn die Schiffe wurden bei Ezjon-Geber zertrümmert.
50 And Jehoshaphat lies with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the city of his father David, and his son Jehoram reigns in his stead.
Damals sprach Ahasja, der Sohn Ahabs, zu Josaphat: Laß meine Knechte mit deinen Knechten auf den Schiffen fahren; aber Josaphat wollte nicht.
51 Ahaziah son of Ahab has reigned over Israel in Samaria in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigns over Israel two years,
Und Josaphat legte sich zu seinen Vätern, und er wurde bei seinen Vätern begraben in der Stadt seines Vaters David. Und Joram, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt. [2. Kön. 8,16]
52 and does evil in the eyes of YHWH, and walks in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam son of Nebat who caused Israel to sin,
Ahasja, der Sohn Ahabs, wurde König über Israel zu Samaria, im 17. Jahre Josaphats, des Königs von Juda; und er regierte zwei Jahre über Israel.
53 and serves the Ba‘al, and bows himself to it, and provokes YHWH, God of Israel, according to all that his father had done.
Und er tat, was böse war in den Augen Jehovas, und er wandelte auf dem Wege seines Vaters und auf dem Wege seiner Mutter und auf dem Wege Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, der Israel sündigen gemacht hatte. Und er diente dem Baal und beugte sich vor ihm nieder; und er reizte Jehova, den Gott Israels, nach allem, was sein Vater getan hatte.
