1 Kings 18
1 And the days are many, and the word of YHWH has been to Elijah in the third year, saying, “Go, appear to Ahab, and I give rain on the face of the ground”;
ಅನೇಕ ದಿವಸಗಳಾದ ತರುವಾಯ, ಮೂರನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಎಲೀಯನಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿತು, “ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ಅಹಾಬನಿಗೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿಕೋ. ಆಗ ನಾನು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಳೆಯನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುವೆನು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
2 and Elijah goes to appear to Ahab. And the famine is severe in Samaria,
ಎಲೀಯನು ಅಹಾಬನಿಗೆ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಹೋದನು. ಆದರೆ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರವು ಘೋರವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
3 and Ahab calls to Obadiah, who [is] over the house—and Obadiah has been fearing YHWH greatly,
ಅಹಾಬನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಉಗ್ರಾಣಿಕನಾದ ಓಬದ್ಯನನ್ನು ಕರೆದನು. ಓಬದ್ಯನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿವುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
4 and it comes to pass, in Jezebel’s cutting off the prophets of YHWH, that Obadiah takes one hundred prophets, and hides them, fifty men in a cave, and has sustained them with bread and water—
ಈಜೆಬೆಲಳು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ, ಓಬದ್ಯನು ನೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯಾಗಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಗವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟು, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನೂ, ನೀರನ್ನೂ ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದನು.
5 and Ahab says to Obadiah, “Go through the land, to all fountains of waters, and to all the brooks, perhaps we find hay, and keep alive horse and mule, and do not cut off any of the livestock.”
ಅಹಾಬನು ಓಬದ್ಯನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನೀರಿನ ಬುಗ್ಗೆಗಳ ಬಳಿಗೂ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹಳ್ಳಗಳ ಬಳಿಗೂ ಹೋಗು. ನಾವು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪಶುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳದ ಹಾಗೆ ಕುದುರೆಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಹೇಸರಗತ್ತೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಜೀವದಿಂದ ಇರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಮಗೆ ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಹುಲ್ಲು ದೊರಕಬಹುದು. ಆಗ ನಾವು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದನು.
6 And they apportion the land to themselves, to pass over into it; Ahab has gone in one way by himself, and Obadiah has gone in another way by himself;
ಅವರು ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಹಾದು ಹೋಗಲು, ಅದನ್ನು ವಿಭಾಗ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಅಹಾಬನು ಒಂದು ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಓಬದ್ಯನು ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕವಾಗಿ ಹೋದರು.
7 and Obadiah [is] in the way, and behold, Elijah [is there] to meet him; and he discerns him, and falls on his face and says, “Are you he—my lord Elijah?”
ಓಬದ್ಯನು ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ಎಲೀಯನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸಂಧಿಸಿದನು. ಓಬದ್ಯನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಸಾಷ್ಟಾಂಗ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರಮಾಡಿ, “ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನಾದ ಎಲೀಯನಲ್ಲವೋ?” ಎಂದನು.
8 And he says to him, “I [am]; go, say to your lord, Behold, Elijah.”
ಎಲೀಯನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಾನೇ, ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ, ‘ಎಲೀಯನು ಇಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ’ ಎಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳು,” ಎಂದನು.
9 And he says, “What have I sinned, that you are giving your servant into the hand of Ahab—to put me to death?
ಅದಕ್ಕವನು, “ಅಹಾಬನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನನ್ನು ಅವನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡಲು ನಾನೇನು ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿದೆನು?
10 Your God YHWH lives, if there is a nation and kingdom to where my lord has not sent to seek [for] you; and they said, He is not, then he caused the kingdom and the nation to swear, that it does not find you;
ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಲು ಕಳುಹಿಸದ ಜನಾಂಗವೂ, ರಾಜ್ಯವೂ ಒಂದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು, ‘ಎಲೀಯನು ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲ,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದಾಗ, ಅಹಾಬನು ಆ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೂ, ಜನಾಂಗಕ್ಕೂ ಆಣೆ ಇಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.
11 and now, you are saying, Go, say to your lord, Behold, Elijah;
ಈಗ ನೀನು, ‘ಇಗೋ, ಎಲೀಯನು ಇಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸು,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀ.
12 and it has been, I go from you, and the Spirit of YHWH lifts you up to where I do not know, and I have come to declare to Ahab, and he does not find you, and he has slain me; and your servant is fearing YHWH from my youth.
ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗುವಾಗ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆತ್ಮರು ನಾನರಿಯದ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಒಯ್ಯುವರು. ನಾನು ಬಂದು ಅಹಾಬನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದಾಗ, ಅವನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಣದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕುವನು. ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಚಿಕ್ಕಂದಿನಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
13 Has it not been declared to my lord that which I have done in Jezebel’s slaying the prophets of YHWH, that I hide one hundred men of the prophets of YHWH, fifty by fifty in a cave, and sustained them with bread and water?
ಈಜೆಬೆಲಳು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೂರು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು, ಐವತ್ತು ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯಾಗಿ ಗವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟು, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನೂ, ನೀರನ್ನೂ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದ್ದು ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನಾದ ನೀನು ಕೇಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲವೇ?
14 And now you are saying, Go, say to my lord, Behold, Elijah—and he has slain me!”
ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕುವ ಹಾಗೆ, ‘ಎಲೀಯನು ಇದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂದು ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳು,’ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ನೀನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀ,” ಎಂದನು.
15 And Elijah says, “YHWH of Hosts lives, before whom I have stood, surely I appear to him today.”
ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಲೀಯನು, “ನಾನು ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಾಣೆ, ಇಂದು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆನು,” ಎಂದನು.
16 Obadiah goes to meet Ahab, and declares [it] to him, and Ahab goes to meet Elijah.
ಹೀಗೆ ಓಬದ್ಯನು ಅಹಾಬನೆದುರಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅಹಾಬನು ಎಲೀಯನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಹೋದನು.
17 [And it] comes to pass at Ahab’s seeing Elijah that Ahab says to him, “Are you he—the troubler of Israel?”
ಅಹಾಬನು ಎಲೀಯನನ್ನು ಕಂಡಾಗ ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನ್ನು ಕಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಪಡಿಸುವವನು ನೀನಲ್ಲವೋ?” ಎಂದನು.
18 And he says, “I have not troubled Israel, but you and the house of your father, in your forsaking the commands of YHWH, and you go after the Ba‘alim;
ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು, “ನಾನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನ್ನು ಕಳವಳಪಡಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ನೀನೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರೂ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ತೊರೆದುಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಬಾಳನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುವ ನೀವೇ ಕಳವಳಪಡಿಸುವವರು.
19 and now, send, gather all Israel to me, to the Mount of Carmel, and the four hundred and fifty prophets of Ba‘al, and the four hundred prophets of Asherah who are eating at the table of Jezebel.”
ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ಕರ್ಮೆಲು ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನ್ನೂ, ಬಾಳನ ನಾನೂರ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಈಜೆಬೆಲಳ ಮೇಜಿನ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಭೋಜನಮಾಡುವ ಅಶೇರನ ನಾನೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕೂಡಿಸು,” ಎಂದನು.
20 And Ahab sends among all the sons of Israel, and gathers the prophets to the Mount of Carmel;
ಹೀಗೆ ಅಹಾಬನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಕರೆಯಿಸಿ, ಕರ್ಮೆಲು ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿದನು.
21 and Elijah comes near to all the people and says, “Until when are you leaping on the two branches? If YHWH [is] God, go after Him; and if Ba‘al, go after him”; and the people have not answered him a word.
ಆಗ ಎಲೀಯನು ಸಕಲ ಜನರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, “ನೀವು ಎರಡು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಷ್ಟರವರೆಗೂ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡಿರುವಿರಿ? ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ದೇವರಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅವರನ್ನೇ ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿರಿ; ಬಾಳನು ದೇವರಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅವನನ್ನೇ ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು. ಜನರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಮಾತಾದರೂ ಹೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.
22 And Elijah says to the people, “I have been left, by myself, a prophet of YHWH; and the prophets of Ba‘al [are] four hundred and fifty men;
ಆಗ ಎಲೀಯನು ಜನರಿಗೆ, “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಉಳಿದಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಆದರೆ ಬಾಳನ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ನಾನೂರ ಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
23 and let them give two bullocks to us, and they choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and place [it] on the wood, and place no fire; and I prepare the other bullock, and have put [it] on the wood, and I do not place fire—
ಈಗ ಎರಡು ಹೋರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರು ನಮಗೆ ಕೊಡಲಿ. ಒಂದು ಹೋರಿಯನ್ನು ಅವರು ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡು, ಅದನ್ನು ತುಂಡುತುಂಡಾಗಿ ಕಡಿದು, ಬೆಂಕಿ ಹಾಕದೆ, ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಡಲಿ. ನಾನು ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಹೋರಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಿ, ಬೆಂಕಿ ಹಾಕದೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಡುವೆನು.
24 and you have called in the name of your god, and I call in the Name of YHWH, and it has been, the god who answers by fire—He [is] the God.” And all the people answer and say, “The word [is] good.”
ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಹೆಸರು ಹೇಳಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿರಿ; ಅನಂತರ ನಾನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಹೆಸರು ಹೇಳಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುವೆನು. ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರು ಆಲಿಸಿ, ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುವರೋ, ಅವರೇ ದೇವರೆಂದು ನಿಶ್ಚಯಿಸೋಣ,” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ಈ ಮಾತು ಸರಿ,” ಎಂದರು.
25 And Elijah says to the prophets of Ba‘al, “Choose one bullock for yourselves, and prepare [it] first, for you [are] the multitude, and call in the name of your god, and place no fire.”
ಆಗ ಎಲೀಯನು ಬಾಳನ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಅನೇಕರಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಹೋರಿಯನ್ನು ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡು, ಅದನ್ನು ಮೊದಲು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರುಗಳ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿರಿ. ಆದರೆ ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತಿಸಬೇಡಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
26 And they take the bullock that [one] gave to them, and prepare [it], and call in the name of Ba‘al from the morning even until the noon, saying, “O Ba‘al, answer us!” And there is no voice, and there is none answering; and they leap on the altar that one had made.
ಅವರು ತಮಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಹೋರಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿದರು. “ಬಾಳನೇ, ನಮಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡು,” ಎಂದು ಉದಯದಿಂದ ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದವರೆಗೂ ಬಾಳನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಒಂದು ಶಬ್ದವಾಗಲಿ, ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡುವವನಾಗಲಿ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ಮಾಡಿದ ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಕುಣಿದಾಡಿದರು.
27 And it comes to pass, at noon, that Elijah mocks at them and says, “Call with a loud voice, for he [is] a god, for he is meditating, or pursuing, or on a journey; it may be he is asleep, and awakes.”
ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲೀಯನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಗೇಲಿಮಾಡಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ದೊಡ್ಡ ಶಬ್ದದಿಂದ ಕೂಗಿರಿ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಒಬ್ಬ ದೇವರಲ್ಲವೇ? ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಅವನು ಧ್ಯಾನದಲ್ಲಿರಬಹುದು; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಯಾವುದೋ ಕೆಲಸದಲ್ಲಿರಬಹುದು; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅವನು ನಿದ್ದೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಈಗ ಅವನು ಎಚ್ಚರವಾಗಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದನು.
28 And they call with a loud voice, and cut themselves, according to their ordinance, with swords and with spears, until a flowing of blood [is] on them;
ಅವರು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಶಬ್ದದಿಂದ ಕೂಗಿ, ತಮ್ಮ ಕ್ರಮದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ರಕ್ತವು ತಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಸೋರುವ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೂ ಖಡ್ಗಗಳಿಂದಲೂ, ಚೂರಿಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡರು.
29 and it comes to pass, at the passing by of the noon, that they feign themselves prophets until the going up of the present, and there is no voice, and there is none answering, and there is none attending.
ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನವಾದ ತರುವಾಯ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ಬಲಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವ ವೇಳೆಯವರೆಗೂ ಪರವಶರಾಗಿ ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಶಬ್ದವಾದರೂ, ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಡುವವನಾದರೂ, ಲಕ್ಷಿಸುವವನಾದರೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
30 And Elijah says to all the people, “Come near to me”; and all the people come near to him, and he repairs the altar of YHWH that is broken down;
ಆಗ ಎಲೀಯನು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜನರಿಗೂ, “ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬನ್ನಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು. ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ಕಿತ್ತು ಹಾಕಿದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಬಲಿಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಅವನು ದುರಸ್ತಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
31 and Elijah takes twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the word of YHWH was, saying, “Israel is your name”;
“ನಿನಗೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನೆಂಬ ಹೆಸರುಂಟಾಗಿರುವುದು,” ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಬಂದ ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳ ಲೆಕ್ಕದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಎಲೀಯನು ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು,
32 and he builds an altar with the stones, in the Name of YHWH, and makes a trench, as about the space of two measures of seed, around the altar.
ಆ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಹೆಸರಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿ, ಆ ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಸೇರು ಬೀಜವರೀ ನೆಲವನ್ನು ಅಗೆಸಿ, ಒಂದು ಕಾಲುವೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು.
33 And he arranges the wood, and cuts the bullock in pieces, and places [it] on the wood, and says, “Fill four pitchers of water, and pour [them] on the burnt-offering, and on the wood”;
ತರುವಾಯ ಅವನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪೀಠದ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಟ್ಟು, ಹೋರಿಯನ್ನು ತುಂಡುತುಂಡಾಗಿ ಕಡಿದು, ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಟ್ಟು, “ನೀವು ನಾಲ್ಕು ಕೊಡ ನೀರು ತುಂಬಿಕೊಂಡು ದಹನಬಲಿಯ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಹೊಯ್ಯಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
34 and he says, “Do [it] a second time”; and they do [it] a second time; and he says, “Do [it] a third time”; and they do [it] a third time;
ಅವರು ಅವನು ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಆಗ ಎಲೀಯನು, “ಎರಡನೆಯ ಸಾರಿ ಹೊಯ್ಯಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು. ಅವರು ಎರಡನೆಯ ಸಾರಿಯೂ ಹೊಯ್ದರು. ಮೂರನೆಯ ಸಾರಿ, “ಹೊಯ್ಯಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು. ಮೂರನೆಯ ಸಾರಿಯೂ ಹೊಯ್ದರು.
35 and the water goes around the altar, and he has also filled the trench with water.
ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನೀರು ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಹರಿಯಿತು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಕಾಲುವೆಯನ್ನು ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿಸಿದನು.
36 And it comes to pass, at the going up of the [evening] present, that Elijah the prophet comes near and says, “YHWH, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known today that You [are] God in Israel, and that I, Your servant, have done the whole of these things by Your word;
ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ಬಲಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವ ವೇಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಎಲೀಯನು ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಸಮೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು, “ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಗೂ, ಇಸಾಕನಿಗೂ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿಗೂ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವೇ ದೇವರೆಂದೂ, ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸೇವಕನೆಂದೂ, ನಾನು ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಾತಿನ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದೂ ಇಂದು ತೋರಿಸಿಕೊಡಿರಿ.
37 answer me, O YHWH, answer me, and this people [then] knows that You [are] YHWH God; and You have turned their heart backward.”
ನೀವು ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೆಂದೂ, ನೀವು ಅವರ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿಸಿದ್ದೀರೆಂದೂ ಈ ಜನರು ತಿಳಿಯುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನನಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡಿರಿ. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ, ನನಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಬೇಡಿದನು.
38 And a fire falls [from] YHWH, and consumes the burnt-offering, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and it has licked up the water that [is] in the trench.
ಕೂಡಲೇ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಇಳಿದುಬಂದು, ದಹನಬಲಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಮಣ್ಣನ್ನೂ ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಕಾಲುವೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಹೀರಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿತು.
39 And all the people see, and fall on their faces, and say, “YHWH, He [is] the God! YHWH, He [is] the God!”
ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ಇದನ್ನು ಕಂಡಾಗ ಬೋರಲು ಬಿದ್ದು, “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ ದೇವರು! ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ ದೇವರು!” ಎಂದರು.
40 And Elijah says to them, “Catch the prophets of Ba‘al; do not let a man escape from them”; and they catch them, and Elijah brings them down to the Brook of Kishon, and slaughters them there.
ಆಗ ಎಲೀಯನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಬಾಳನ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯಿರಿ. ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನೂ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಇರಲಿ,” ಎಂದನು. ಇವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದರು. ಎಲೀಯನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೀಷೋನು ಹಳ್ಳದ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡುಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದನು.
41 And Elijah says to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink, because of the sound of the noise of the shower.”
ಅನಂತರ ಎಲೀಯನು ಅಹಾಬನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ತಿಂದು, ಕುಡಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ದೊಡ್ಡಮಳೆಯ ಶಬ್ದವು ಕೇಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ,” ಎಂದನು.
42 And Ahab goes up to eat, and to drink, and Elijah has gone up to the top of Carmel, and he stretches himself out on the earth, and he places his face between his knees,
ಅಹಾಬನು ತಿಂದು, ಕುಡಿಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು. ಎಲೀಯನು ಕರ್ಮೆಲಿನ ಶಿಖರವನ್ನು ಏರಿ, ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದು, ತನ್ನ ಮೊಣಕಾಲಿನ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ತಲೆಯನ್ನಿಟ್ಟನು.
43 and says to his young man, “Now go up, look attentively [toward] the way of the sea”; and he goes up and looks attentively, and says, “There is nothing”; and he says, “Turn back,” seven times.
ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ನೋಡು,” ಎಂದನು. ಅವನು ಹೋಗಿ ನೋಡಿ, “ಏನೂ ಇಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದನು. ಅವನು, “ಏಳು ಸಾರಿ ತಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ ನೋಡು,” ಎಂದನು.
44 And it comes to pass, at the seventh, that he says, “Behold, a little thickness as the palm of a man is coming up out of the sea.” And he says, “Go up, say to Ahab, Bind and go down, and the shower does not restrain you.”
ಏಳನೆಯ ಸಾರಿ ಇವನು ಹೋಗಿ ನೋಡಿದಾಗ, “ಇಗೋ, ಸಮುದ್ರದಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಅಂಗೈಯಷ್ಟು ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಮೇಘವು ಏಳುತ್ತಿದೆ,” ಎಂದನು. ಆಗ, “ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ಅಹಾಬನಿಗೆ ಬೇಗನೇ ರಥವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಮಳೆಯು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ತಡೆಯದಂತೆ ಇಳಿದುಹೋಗೆಂದು ಹೇಳು,” ಎಂದನು.
45 And it comes to pass, in the meantime, that the heavens have become black—thick clouds and wind—and the shower is great; and Ahab rides, and goes to Jezreel,
ಆಗ ಇದ್ದಕ್ಕಿದ್ದ ಹಾಗೆ ಆಕಾಶವು ಮೇಘಗಳಿಂದಲೂ, ಗಾಳಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಕಪ್ಪಾಗಿ ದೊಡ್ಡಮಳೆಯು ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು. ಅಹಾಬನು ರಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಏರಿ ಇಜ್ರೆಯೇಲ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.
46 and the hand of YHWH has been on Elijah, and he girds up his loins, and runs before Ahab, until your entering Jezreel.
ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಕೈ ಎಲೀಯನ ಮೇಲೆ ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಸಡಿಲವಾದ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಡುಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು ಇಜ್ರೆಯೇಲ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣದವರೆಗೂ ಅಹಾಬನಿಗೆ ಮುಂದಾಗಿ ಓಡಿದನು.
