1 Kings 16

1 And a word of YHWH is to Jehu son of Hanani, against Baasha, saying,

Und es erging Jehovahs Wort an Jehu, den Sohn Chananis, wider Baescha und sprach:

2 “Because that I have raised you up out of the dust, and appoint you leader over My people Israel, and you walk in the way of Jeroboam, and cause My people Israel to sin—to provoke Me to anger with their sins;

Weil Ich dich aus dem Staube erhöht und zum Führer über Mein Volk Israel gegeben habe, du aber im Wege Jerobeams gewandelt und Mein Volk Israel hast sündigen lassen, Mich zu reizen durch seine Sünden.

3 behold, I am putting away the posterity of Baasha, even the posterity of his house, and have given up your house as the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat;

Siehe, so fege Ich aus hinter Baescha und hinter seinem Hause und gebe dein Haus dahin, wie das Haus von Jerobeam, dem Sohne Nebats.

4 the dogs eat him who dies of Baasha in a city, and [the] bird of the heavens eats him who dies of his in a field.”

Wer dem Baescha stirbt in der Stadt, den sollen die Hunde fressen, und wer ihm auf dem Felde stirbt, den soll das Gevögel der Himmel fressen.

5 And the rest of the matters of Baasha, and that which he did, and his might, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

Und die übrigen Geschichten Baeschas und was er getan, und seine Macht, ist es nicht geschrieben im Buche der Tagesgeschichten der Könige Israels?

6 And Baasha lies with his fathers, and is buried in Tirzah, and his son Elah reigns in his stead.

Und Baescha entschlief zu seinen Vätern, und ward begraben in Thirzah, und Elah, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Stelle.

7 And also by the hand of Jehu son of Hanani the prophet a word of YHWH has been concerning Baasha, and concerning his house, and concerning all the evil that he did in the eyes of YHWH to provoke Him to anger with the work of his hands, to be like the house of Jeroboam, and concerning that for which he struck him.

Und es erging auch durch die Hand Jehus, des Sohnes Chananis, des Propheten, das Wort Jehovahs wider Baescha und wider sein Haus und über all das Böse, das er in den Augen Jehovahs tat, daß er Ihn reizte durch das Tun seiner Hände, daß er war wie das Haus Jerobeams, und weil er diesen erschlagen hatte.

8 In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah son of Baasha has reigned over Israel in Tirzah, two years;

Im sechsundzwanzigsten Jahre Asas, König von Judah, ward Elah, der Sohn Baeschas, König über Israel in Thirzah, zwei Jahre.

9 and his servant Zimri conspires against him (head of the half of the chariots) and he [is] in Tirzah drinking—a drunkard in the house of Arza, who [is] over the house in Tirzah.

Und es verschwor sich wider ihn sein Knecht Simri, der Oberste der Hälfte der Streitwagen; und er war in Thirzah, trank betrunken im Hause Arzas, der über sein Haus in Thirzah war.

10 And Zimri comes in and strikes him, and puts him to death, in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigns in his stead;

Und Simri kam herein und schlug ihn und tötete ihn im siebenundzwanzigsten Jahre Asas, des Königs von Judah, und ward König an seiner Stelle.

11 and it comes to pass in his reigning, at his sitting on his throne, he has struck the whole house of Baasha; he has not left to him any sitting on the wall, and of his redeemers, and of his friends.

Und es geschah, als er König ward, als er auf seinem Throne saß, erschlug er das ganze Haus Baeschas, und seine Verwandten und seine Genossen, und ließ nicht verbleiben einen, der an die Wand pißt.

12 And Zimri destroys the whole house of Baasha, according to the word of YHWH that He spoke concerning Baasha, by the hand of Jehu the prophet,

Und Simri vernichtete das ganze Haus Baeschas, nach dem Worte Jehovahs, das Er durch die Hand Jehus, des Propheten, über Baescha geredet hatte.

13 concerning all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of his son Elah, that they sinned, and that they caused Israel to sin to provoke YHWH, God of Israel, with their vanities.

Ob all den Sünden Baeschas und den Sünden Elahs, seines Sohnes, die sie gesündigt, und die sie Israel sündigen ließen, weil sie Jehovah, den Gott Israels, durch ihre Abgöttereien gereizt hatten.

14 And the rest of the matters of Elah and all that he did, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

Und die übrigen Geschichten Elahs und alles, was er getan, ist es nicht geschrieben im Buche der Tagesgeschichten der Könige Israels?

15 In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri has reigned seven days in Tirzah; and the people are encamping against Gibbethon, which [belonged] to the Philistines;

Im siebenundzwanzigsten Jahre, dem Jahre Asas, des Königs von Judah, ward Simri sieben Tage König in Thirzah. Und das Volk war gelagert wider Gibbethon der Philister.

16 and the people who are encamping hear, saying, “Zimri has conspired, and also has struck the king”; and all Israel causes Omri head of the host to reign over Israel on that day in the camp.

Und das Volk, das im Lager war, hörte sagen: Simri hat sich verschworen und auch den König erschlagen. Und ganz Israel machte Omri, den Obersten des Heeres, an selbigem Tage im Lager zum König über Israel.

17 And Omri goes up, and all Israel with him, from Gibbethon, and they lay siege to Tirzah.

Und Omri und ganz Israel mit ihm zogen herauf von Gibbethon und belagerten Thirzah.

18 And it comes to pass, at Zimri’s seeing that the city has been captured, that he comes into a high place of the house of the king, and burns the house of the king over himself with fire, and he dies,

Und es geschah, wie Simri sah, daß die Stadt erobert war, ging er in den Palast des Königshauses und verbrannte über sich das Königshaus mit Feuer und starb,

19 for his sins that he sinned, to do evil in the eyes of YHWH, to walk in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin that he did, to cause Israel to sin;

Ob seinen Sünden, die er gesündigt, weil er tat, was böse in den Augen Jehovahs war, indem er wandelte im Wege Jerobeams und in seiner Sünde, die er tat, daß er Israel sündigen machte.

20 and the rest of the matters of Zimri and his conspiracy that he made, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

Und das übrige der Geschichten Simris, und die Verschwörung, mit der er sich verschwor, ist es nicht geschrieben im Buche der Tagesgeschichten der Könige Israels?

21 Then the sons of Israel are parted into halves; half of the people have been after Tibni son of Ginath to cause him to reign, and the [other] half after Omri;

Damals war das Volk Israel geteilt in Hälften, eine Hälfte des Volkes hinter Thibni, dem Sohne Ginaths, ihn zum König zu machen, und eine Hälfte hinter Omri.

22 and the people that are after Omri are stronger than the people that are after Tibni son of Ginath, and Tibni dies, and Omri reigns.

Aber das Volk hinter Omri ward stärker als das Volk hinter Thibni, dem Sohne Ginaths, und Thibni starb, und Omri ward König.

23 In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri has reigned over Israel twelve years; he has reigned in Tirzah six years,

Im einunddreißigsten Jahre, dem Jahre Asas, des Königs von Judah, ward Omri König über Israel, zwölf Jahre; in Thirzah regierte er sechs Jahre.

24 and he buys the Mount of Samaria from Shemer with two talents of silver, and builds [on] the mountain, and calls the name of the city that he has built by the name of Shemer, lord of the hill—Samaria.

Und er kaufte den Berg Schomron von Schemer um zwei Talente Silber, und baute auf den Berg, und nannte den Namen der Stadt, die er baute, nach dem Namen Schemers, des Herrn des Berges, Schomron.

25 And Omri does evil in the eyes of YHWH, and does evil above all who [are] before him,

Und Omri tat, was böse war in den Augen Jehovahs, und war ärger denn alle, die vor ihm gewesen.

26 and walks in all the way of Jeroboam son of Nebat, and in his sin that he caused Israel to sin, to provoke YHWH, God of Israel, with their vanities.

Und er wandelte in all dem Wege Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebaths, und in seinen Sünden, damit er Israel sündigen machte, so daß sie Jehovah, den Gott Israels, durch ihre Abgöttereien reizten.

27 And the rest of the matters of Omri that he did and his might that he exercised, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

Und das übrige der Geschichten Omris, was er tat, und seine Macht, die er ausübte, ist es nicht geschrieben im Buche der Tagesgeschichten der Könige Israels?

28 And Omri lies with his fathers, and is buried in Samaria, and his son Ahab reigns in his stead.

Und Omri entschlief zu seinen Vätern und ward begraben in Samaria, und Achab, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Stelle.

29 And Ahab son of Omri has reigned over Israel in the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, and Ahab son of Omri reigns over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years,

Und Achab, der Sohn Omris, ward König über Israel im achtundreißigsten Jahre, dem Jahre Asas, des Königs von Judah; Achab aber, der Sohn Omris, regierte über Israel in Samaria zweiundzwanzig Jahre;

30 and Ahab son of Omri does evil in the eyes of YHWH above all who [are] before him.

Und Achab, der Sohn Omris, tat, was böse war in den Augen Jehovahs, mehr denn alle, die vor ihm gewesen.

31 And it comes to pass, as if it had been trivial—his walking in the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat—that he takes a wife, Jezebel daughter of Ethba‘al, king of the Zidonians, and goes and serves Ba‘al, and bows himself to it,

Und es war ihm ein Leichtes, daß er in den Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, wandelte, und er nahm zum Weibe Isebel, die Tochter Ethbaals, des Königs der Zidonier, und ging und diente dem Baal und betete ihn an.

32 and raises up an altar for Ba‘al in the house of the Ba‘al, which he built in Samaria;

Und er richtete dem Baal einen Altar im Hause des Baal auf, das er zu Samaria gebaut hatte.

33 and Ahab makes the Asherah, and Ahab adds to do so as to provoke YHWH, God of Israel, above all the kings of Israel who have been before him.

Und Achab machte eine Aschere. Und Achab fuhr fort, so zu tun, daß er Jehovah, den Gott Israels, mehr denn alle Könige Israels, die vor ihm waren, reizte.

34 In his days Hiel the Beth-Elite has built Jericho; he laid its foundation with Abiram his firstborn, and he set up its doors with Segub his youngest, according to the word of YHWH that He spoke by the hand of Joshua son of Nun.

In seinen Tagen baute Chiel, der Bethelite, Jericho auf; in seinem Erstgeborenen, Abiram, legte er dessen Grund, und in seinem Jüngsten, Segub, stellte er dessen Türen ein, nach dem Worte Jehovahs, das Er durch die Hand Jehoschuas, des Sohnes Nuns, geredet hatte.
