1 Kings 15

1 And in the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam son of Nebat, Abijam has reigned over Judah;

En el año dieciocho del rey Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, Abiyam comenzó a reinar sobre Judá.

2 he has reigned three years in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Maachah daughter of Abishalom;

Reinó tres años en Jerusalén. Su madre se llamaba Maaca, hija de Abisalón.

3 and he walks in all the sins of his father that he did before him, and his heart has not been perfect with his God YHWH, as the heart of his father David;

Anduvo en todos los pecados de su padre, que había hecho antes de él, y su corazón no era perfecto con Yahvé su Dios, como el corazón de David su padre.

4 but for David’s sake his God YHWH has given to him a lamp in Jerusalem, to raise up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem,

Sin embargo, por causa de David, Yahvé su Dios le dio una lámpara en Jerusalén, para que pusiera a su hijo después de él y para que estableciera a Jerusalén;

5 in that David did that which [is] right in the eyes of YHWH, and did not turn aside from all that He commanded him all [the] days of his life—except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite;

porque David hizo lo que era justo a los ojos de Yahvé, y no se apartó de nada de lo que le mandó en todos los días de su vida, excepto solamente en el asunto de Urías el hitita.

6 and there has been war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.

Hubo guerra entre Roboam y Jeroboam todos los días de su vida.

7 And the rest of the matters of Abijam and all that he did, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? And there has been war between Abijam and Jeroboam;

Los demás hechos de Abijam, y todo lo que hizo, ¿no están escritos en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Hubo guerra entre Abijam y Jeroboam.

8 and Abijam lies with his fathers, and they bury him in the City of David, and his son Asa reigns in his stead.

Abijam durmió con sus padres, y lo enterraron en la ciudad de David; y su hijo Asa reinó en su lugar.

9 And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Asa has reigned over Judah,

En el vigésimo año de Jeroboam, rey de Israel, Asa comenzó a reinar sobre Judá.

10 and he has reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Maachah daughter of Abishalom.

Reinó cuarenta y un años en Jerusalén. Su madre se llamaba Maaca, hija de Abisalón.

11 And Asa does that which [is] right in the eyes of YHWH, like his father David,

Asá hizo lo que era justo a los ojos de Yahvé, como lo hizo su padre David.

12 and removes the whoremongers out of the land, and turns aside all the idols that his fathers made;

Expulsó a los sodomitas del país y eliminó todos los ídolos que habían hecho sus padres.

13 and also his mother Maachah—he turns her aside from being mistress, in that she made a horrible thing for an Asherah, and Asa cuts down her horrible thing, and burns [it] by the Brook of Kidron;

También destituyó a su madre Maacá como reina, porque había hecho una imagen abominable como Asera. Asa cortó su imagen y la quemó en el arroyo Cedrón.

14 but the high places have not been removed; only, the heart of Asa has been perfect with YHWH [for] all his days,

Pero los lugares altos no fueron quitados. Sin embargo, el corazón de Asa fue perfecto con Yahvé todos sus días.

15 and he brings in the sanctified things of his father, and his own sanctified things, to the house of YHWH: silver, and gold, and vessels.

Llevó a la casa de Yahvé las cosas que su padre había dedicado, y las que él mismo había dedicado: plata, oro y utensilios.

16 And there has been war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel [for] all their days,

Hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa, rey de Israel, durante todos sus días.

17 and Baasha king of Israel goes up against Judah, and builds Ramah, not to permit anyone going out and coming in to Asa king of Judah.

Baasa, rey de Israel, subió contra Judá y edificó Ramá, para no permitir que nadie saliera ni entrara a Asa, rey de Judá.

18 And Asa takes all the silver and the gold that are left in the treasures of the house of YHWH, and the treasures of the house of the king, and gives them into the hand of his servants, and King Asa sends them to Ben-Hadad, son of Tabrimmon, son of Hezion king of Aram, who is dwelling in Damascus, saying,

Entonces Asa tomó toda la plata y el oro que quedaba en los tesoros de la casa de Yahvé y en los tesoros de la casa del rey, y lo entregó en manos de sus servidores. Entonces el rey Asá los envió a Ben Hadad, hijo de Tabrimón, hijo de Hezión, rey de Siria, que vivía en Damasco, diciendo:

19 “A covenant [is] between me and you, between my father and your father; behold, I have sent a reward of silver and gold to you; go, break your covenant with Baasha king of Israel, and he goes up from off me.”

“Que haya un tratado entre tú y yo, como el que hubo entre mi padre y tu padre. He aquí que te he enviado un presente de plata y oro. Ve, rompe tu tratado con Baasa, rey de Israel, para que se aparte de mí”.

20 And Ben-Hadad listens to King Asa, and sends the heads of the forces that he has against cities of Israel, and strikes Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-Beth-Maachah, and all Chinneroth, besides all the land of Naphtali;

Ben Hadad escuchó al rey Asá y envió a los capitanes de sus ejércitos contra las ciudades de Israel, y atacó a Ijón, a Dan, a Abel Bet Maaca y a toda Cinerot, con toda la tierra de Neftalí.

21 and it comes to pass at Baasha’s hearing, that he ceases from building Ramah, and dwells in Tirzah.

Cuando Baasa se enteró de esto, dejó de construir Rama y vivió en Tirsa.

22 And King Asa has summoned all Judah—there is none exempt—and they lift up the stones of Ramah, and its wood, that Baasha has built, and King Asa builds with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

Entonces el rey Asá hizo una proclama a todo Judá. Nadie quedó exento. Se llevaron las piedras de Rama y su madera, con las que Baasa había construido; y el rey Asa las utilizó para construir Geba de Benjamín y Mizpa.

23 And the rest of all the matters of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities that he built, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? Only, at the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet;

El resto de todos los hechos de Asa, y todo su poderío, y todo lo que hizo, y las ciudades que edificó, ¿no están escritos en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Pero en el tiempo de su vejez enfermó de los pies.

24 and Asa lies with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the city of his father David, and his son Jehoshaphat reigns in his stead.

Asa durmió con sus padres y fue sepultado con ellos en la ciudad de su padre David; y su hijo Josafat reinó en su lugar.

25 And Nadab son of Jeroboam has reigned over Israel, in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigns over Israel two years,

Nadab hijo de Jeroboam comenzó a reinar sobre Israel en el segundo año de Asa, rey de Judá; y reinó sobre Israel dos años.

26 and does evil in the eyes of YHWH, and goes in the way of his father, and in his sin that he made Israel to sin.

Hizo lo que era malo a los ojos de Yahvé, y anduvo en el camino de su padre, y en su pecado con que hizo pecar a Israel.

27 And Baasha son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspires against him, and Baasha strikes him in Gibbethon, which [belonged] to the Philistines—and Nadab and all Israel are laying siege against Gibbethon—

Baasa, hijo de Ajías, de la casa de Isacar, conspiró contra él; y Baasa lo hirió en Gibbetón, que era de los filisteos, pues Nadab y todo Israel estaban sitiando Gibbetón.

28 indeed, Baasha puts him to death in the third year of Asa king of Judah, and reigns in his stead.

En el tercer año de Asa, rey de Judá, Baasa lo mató y reinó en su lugar.

29 And it comes to pass, at his reigning, he has struck the whole house of Jeroboam, he has not left any breathing to Jeroboam until his destroying him, according to the word of YHWH, that He spoke by the hand of His servant Ahijah the Shilonite,

Tan pronto como fue rey, golpeó a toda la casa de Jeroboam. No dejó a Jeroboam ni un solo aliento, hasta que lo destruyó, según la palabra de Yahvé, que habló por medio de su siervo Ahías, el silonita;

30 because of the sins of Jeroboam that he sinned, and that he caused Israel to sin, by his provocation with which he provoked YHWH, God of Israel, to anger.

por los pecados de Jeroboam que cometió y con los que hizo pecar a Israel, a causa de su provocación con la que hizo enojar a Yahvé, el Dios de Israel.

31 And the rest of the matters of Nadab and all that he did, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

El resto de los hechos de Nadab y todo lo que hizo, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

32 And there has been war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel [for] all their days.

Hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa, rey de Israel, durante todos sus días.

33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha son of Ahijah has reigned over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty-four years,

En el tercer año de Asá, rey de Judá, Baasa hijo de Ahías comenzó a reinar sobre todo Israel en Tirsa durante veinticuatro años.

34 and he does evil in the eyes of YHWH, and walks in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin that he caused Israel to sin.

Hizo lo que era malo a los ojos de Yahvé, y anduvo en el camino de Jeroboam, y en su pecado con que hizo pecar a Israel.
