1 Kings 15
1 And in the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam son of Nebat, Abijam has reigned over Judah;
En la dix-huitième année du règne de Jéroboam, fils de Nabat, Abiam, fils de Roboam, devint roi de Juda.
2 he has reigned three years in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Maachah daughter of Abishalom;
Et il régna trois ans à Jérusalem; sa mère, fille d'Absalon, se nommait Maacha.
3 and he walks in all the sins of his father that he did before him, and his heart has not been perfect with his God YHWH, as the heart of his father David;
Et il marcha dans les péchés que son père avait faits devant lui, et son cœur ne fut point parfait avec le Seigneur son Dieu, comme l'était le cœur de son père David.
4 but for David’s sake his God YHWH has given to him a lamp in Jerusalem, to raise up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem,
Mais, à cause de David, le Seigneur lui donna un rejeton, afin de maintenir ses enfants après lui, et d'affermir Jérusalem;
5 in that David did that which [is] right in the eyes of YHWH, and did not turn aside from all that He commanded him all [the] days of his life—except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite;
Parce que David avait fait ce qui est droit devant le Seigneur, et que, pendant toute sa vie, il ne s'était jamais écarté des commandements.
6 and there has been war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.
7 And the rest of the matters of Abijam and all that he did, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? And there has been war between Abijam and Jeroboam;
Quant au reste de l'histoire d'Abiam, n'est-il pas écrit au livre des Faits et gestes des rois de Juda? Et la guerre ne cessa pas entre Abiam et Jéroboam.
8 and Abijam lies with his fathers, and they bury him in the City of David, and his son Asa reigns in his stead.
Et Abiam s'endormit avec ses pères, en la vingt-quatrième année du règne de Jéroboam; il fut enseveli auprès de ses pères en la ville de David; et son fils Asa régna à sa place.
9 And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Asa has reigned over Judah,
Dans la vingt-quatrième année du règne de Jéroboam, roi d'Israël, Asa devint roi de Juda.
10 and he has reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Maachah daughter of Abishalom.
Il régna quarante et un ans à Jérusalem; sa mère, fille d'Absalon, se nommait Ana.
11 And Asa does that which [is] right in the eyes of YHWH, like his father David,
Et Asa fit ce qui était droit devant le Seigneur, comme son père David.
12 and removes the whoremongers out of the land, and turns aside all the idols that his fathers made;
Et il détruisit, dans la terre promise, les initiations, et il abolit les infâmes pratiques qu'avaient adoptées ses pères.
13 and also his mother Maachah—he turns her aside from being mistress, in that she made a horrible thing for an Asherah, and Asa cuts down her horrible thing, and burns [it] by the Brook of Kidron;
Il expulsa Ana, sa mère, pour qu'elle ne fût plus rien, parce qu'elle réunissait une association d'initiés dans son bois sacré, et il abattit ses refuges, et il les livra aux flammes dans la vallée de Cédron.
14 but the high places have not been removed; only, the heart of Asa has been perfect with YHWH [for] all his days,
Mais il ne détruisit pas les hauts lieux; néanmoins, le cœur d'Asa fut parfait avec Dieu tout le temps qu'il vécut.
15 and he brings in the sanctified things of his father, and his own sanctified things, to the house of YHWH: silver, and gold, and vessels.
Et il transporta les colonnes de son père; il transporta dans le temple du Seigneur ses colonnes d'or et d'argent, et ses vases.
16 And there has been war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel [for] all their days,
Et la guerre ne cessa point entre Asa et Baasa, roi d'Israël, tout le temps de leur vie.
17 and Baasha king of Israel goes up against Judah, and builds Ramah, not to permit anyone going out and coming in to Asa king of Judah.
Baasa, roi d'Israël, marcha contre Juda, et il se mit à bâtir Rhama, pour qu'il n'y eût personne qui pût sortir ni rentrer, en faveur du roi Asa.
18 And Asa takes all the silver and the gold that are left in the treasures of the house of YHWH, and the treasures of the house of the king, and gives them into the hand of his servants, and King Asa sends them to Ben-Hadad, son of Tabrimmon, son of Hezion king of Aram, who is dwelling in Damascus, saying,
Asa, alors, prit tout l'argent et tout l'or qui se trouva dans les trésors du temple et du palais; il les confia à ses serviteurs, et il les envoya chez le fils d'Ader, fils de Tabremon, fils d'Esion, roi de Syrie, qui résidait à Damas, disant:
19 “A covenant [is] between me and you, between my father and your father; behold, I have sent a reward of silver and gold to you; go, break your covenant with Baasha king of Israel, and he goes up from off me.”
Fais alliance entre moi et toi, entre la maison de mon père et la maison de ton père; voilà que je t'ai envoyé des présents: de l'argent et de l'or; viens, romps ton alliance avec Baasa, roi d'Israël, et il s'éloignera de moi.
20 And Ben-Hadad listens to King Asa, and sends the heads of the forces that he has against cities of Israel, and strikes Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-Beth-Maachah, and all Chinneroth, besides all the land of Naphtali;
Et Ben-Ader écouta le roi Asa; il fit partir les chefs de ses armées contre les villes d'Israël; ils dévastèrent Ahion, Dan, Abel de la maison de Maacha, et tout Cennereth jusqu'aux confins de Nephthali.
21 and it comes to pass at Baasha’s hearing, that he ceases from building Ramah, and dwells in Tirzah.
Quand Baasa l'apprit, il abandonna les constructions de Rhama, et il retourna à Thersa.
22 And King Asa has summoned all Judah—there is none exempt—and they lift up the stones of Ramah, and its wood, that Baasha has built, and King Asa builds with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
Et le roi Asa, dans Enacim, donna ses ordres à tout Juda, ils enlevèrent les pierres de Rhama, et les bois que Baasa avait employés pour la bâtir. Ensuite, le roi s'en servit pour fortifier toutes les collines de Benjamin, et pour y établir la tour du guet.
23 And the rest of all the matters of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities that he built, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? Only, at the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet;
Quant au reste de l'histoire d'Asa, à toutes les actions qu'il fit en sa puissance, à toutes les villes qu'il bâtit, ne sont-ils pas inscrits au livre des Faits et gestes des rois de Juda? Toutefois, dans sa vieillesse, il, perdit l'usage de ses pieds.
24 and Asa lies with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the city of his father David, and his son Jehoshaphat reigns in his stead.
Et Asa s'endormit avec ses pères; il fut enseveli auprès d'eux en la ville de David, son aïeul. Et Josaphat, son fils, régna à sa place.
25 And Nadab son of Jeroboam has reigned over Israel, in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigns over Israel two years,
Nabat, fils de Jéroboam, devint roi d'Israël dans la seconde année du règne d'Asa en Juda, et Nabat régna deux ans.
26 and does evil in the eyes of YHWH, and goes in the way of his father, and in his sin that he made Israel to sin.
Et il fit le mai devant le Seigneur; il marcha dans la voie de son père, et dans les péchés où il avait fait tomber Israël.
27 And Baasha son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspires against him, and Baasha strikes him in Gibbethon, which [belonged] to the Philistines—and Nadab and all Israel are laying siege against Gibbethon—
Et Baasa, fils d'Achias, l'assiégea à la tète de la maison de Bélaan, fils d'Achias; il l'entoura de palissades à Gabathon, ville des Philistins, que Nabat et tout Israël avaient investie.
28 indeed, Baasha puts him to death in the third year of Asa king of Judah, and reigns in his stead.
Et Baasa le tua, la troisième année du règne d'Asa en Juda, et il régna à sa place.
29 And it comes to pass, at his reigning, he has struck the whole house of Jeroboam, he has not left any breathing to Jeroboam until his destroying him, according to the word of YHWH, that He spoke by the hand of His servant Ahijah the Shilonite,
Dès qu'il fut proclamé, il extermina toute la maison de Jéroboam; nul de ceux des siens, qui avait souffle de vie, ne fut épargné, jusqu'à ce que tout eût péri, selon la parole que le Seigneur avait dite par la voix de son serviteur Achias le Silonite,
30 because of the sins of Jeroboam that he sinned, and that he caused Israel to sin, by his provocation with which he provoked YHWH, God of Israel, to anger.
Concernant les péchés de Jéroboam, et le péché où il avait fait tomber Israël pour irriter le Seigneur Dieu d'Israël.
31 And the rest of the matters of Nadab and all that he did, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
Quant au reste de l'histoire de Nabat, n'est-il pas écrit au livre des Faits et gestes des rois d'Israël?
32 And there has been war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel [for] all their days.
En la troisième année du règne d'Asa en Juda, Baasa, fils d'Achias, fut proclamé roi d'Israël, et il régna vingt-quatre ans à Thersa.
33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha son of Ahijah has reigned over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty-four years,

34 and he does evil in the eyes of YHWH, and walks in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin that he caused Israel to sin.
Et il fit le mal devant le Seigneur; il marcha dans la voie de Jéroboam, fils de Nabat, et dans les péchés où il avait fait tomber Israël.
