1 Kings 15
1 And in the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam son of Nebat, Abijam has reigned over Judah;
La dix-huitième année du roi Jéroboam, fils de Nebath, Abijam commença à régner sur Juda.
2 he has reigned three years in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Maachah daughter of Abishalom;
Il régna trois ans à Jérusalem. Sa mère s'appelait Maaca, fille d'Abischalom.
3 and he walks in all the sins of his father that he did before him, and his heart has not been perfect with his God YHWH, as the heart of his father David;
Il marcha dans tous les péchés de son père, qu'il avait commis avant lui; et son cœur ne fut pas parfait avec l'Éternel, son Dieu, comme le cœur de David, son père.
4 but for David’s sake his God YHWH has given to him a lamp in Jerusalem, to raise up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem,
Cependant, à cause de David, l'Éternel, son Dieu, lui donna une lampe à Jérusalem, pour qu'il établisse son fils après lui et qu'il affermisse Jérusalem;
5 in that David did that which [is] right in the eyes of YHWH, and did not turn aside from all that He commanded him all [the] days of his life—except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite;
car David fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Éternel et ne se détourna pas de ce qu'il lui avait ordonné tous les jours de sa vie, sauf dans l'affaire d'Urie, le Héthien.
6 and there has been war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.
Or il y eut guerre entre Roboam et Jéroboam tous les jours de sa vie.
7 And the rest of the matters of Abijam and all that he did, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? And there has been war between Abijam and Jeroboam;
Le reste des actes d'Abijam, et tout ce qu'il a fait, n'est-ce pas écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois de Juda? Il y eut une guerre entre Abijam et Jéroboam.
8 and Abijam lies with his fathers, and they bury him in the City of David, and his son Asa reigns in his stead.
Abijam se coucha avec ses pères, et on l'enterra dans la ville de David; et Asa, son fils, régna à sa place.
9 And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Asa has reigned over Judah,
La vingtième année de Jéroboam, roi d'Israël, Asa commença à régner sur Juda.
10 and he has reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Maachah daughter of Abishalom.
Il régna quarante et un ans à Jérusalem. Le nom de sa mère était Maaca, fille d'Abischalom.
11 And Asa does that which [is] right in the eyes of YHWH, like his father David,
Asa fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Éternel, comme avait fait David, son père.
12 and removes the whoremongers out of the land, and turns aside all the idols that his fathers made;
Il chassa les sodomites du pays et fit disparaître toutes les idoles que ses pères avaient fabriquées.
13 and also his mother Maachah—he turns her aside from being mistress, in that she made a horrible thing for an Asherah, and Asa cuts down her horrible thing, and burns [it] by the Brook of Kidron;
Il chassa aussi Maaca, sa mère, de la royauté, parce qu'elle avait fait une image abominable d'Ashérah. Asa abattit son image et la brûla au torrent de Cédron.
14 but the high places have not been removed; only, the heart of Asa has been perfect with YHWH [for] all his days,
Mais les hauts lieux ne disparurent pas. Cependant le cœur d'Asa fut parfait avec Yahvé pendant toute sa vie.
15 and he brings in the sanctified things of his father, and his own sanctified things, to the house of YHWH: silver, and gold, and vessels.
Il apporta dans la maison de l'Éternel les choses que son père avait consacrées et celles qu'il avait lui-même consacrées: argent, or et ustensiles.
16 And there has been war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel [for] all their days,
Il y eut guerre entre Asa et Baescha, roi d'Israël, pendant toute leur vie.
17 and Baasha king of Israel goes up against Judah, and builds Ramah, not to permit anyone going out and coming in to Asa king of Judah.
Baescha, roi d'Israël, monta contre Juda et bâtit Rama, afin de ne permettre à personne de sortir ou d'entrer chez Asa, roi de Juda.
18 And Asa takes all the silver and the gold that are left in the treasures of the house of YHWH, and the treasures of the house of the king, and gives them into the hand of his servants, and King Asa sends them to Ben-Hadad, son of Tabrimmon, son of Hezion king of Aram, who is dwelling in Damascus, saying,
Alors Asa prit tout l'argent et tout l'or qui restaient dans les trésors de la maison de l'Éternel et dans les trésors de la maison du roi, et il les remit entre les mains de ses serviteurs. Le roi Asa les envoya à Ben Hadad, fils de Tabrimmon, fils de Hezion, roi de Syrie, qui habitait à Damas, en disant:
19 “A covenant [is] between me and you, between my father and your father; behold, I have sent a reward of silver and gold to you; go, break your covenant with Baasha king of Israel, and he goes up from off me.”
« Qu'il y ait un traité entre moi et toi, comme celui qui a été conclu entre mon père et ton père. Voici que je t'envoie un présent d'argent et d'or. Va, romps ton traité avec Baasha, roi d'Israël, afin qu'il s'éloigne de moi. »
20 And Ben-Hadad listens to King Asa, and sends the heads of the forces that he has against cities of Israel, and strikes Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-Beth-Maachah, and all Chinneroth, besides all the land of Naphtali;
Ben Hadad écouta le roi Asa et envoya les chefs de ses armées contre les villes d'Israël. Il frappa Ijon, Dan, Abel Beth Maaca, et tout Chinneroth, avec tout le pays de Nephtali.
21 and it comes to pass at Baasha’s hearing, that he ceases from building Ramah, and dwells in Tirzah.
Lorsque Baescha l'apprit, il cessa de construire Rama et s'établit à Thirtsa.
22 And King Asa has summoned all Judah—there is none exempt—and they lift up the stones of Ramah, and its wood, that Baasha has built, and King Asa builds with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
Alors le roi Asa fit une proclamation à tout Juda. Personne n'en fut exempté. On emporta les pierres de Rama et le bois avec lequel Baescha avait construit, et le roi Asa s'en servit pour bâtir Guéba de Benjamin et Mitspa.
23 And the rest of all the matters of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities that he built, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? Only, at the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet;
Et le reste de tous les actes d'Asa, et toute sa puissance, et tout ce qu'il a fait, et les villes qu'il a bâties, cela n'est-il pas écrit dans le livre des chroniques des rois de Juda? Mais au temps de sa vieillesse, il fut atteint d'une maladie des pieds.
24 and Asa lies with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the city of his father David, and his son Jehoshaphat reigns in his stead.
Asa se coucha avec ses pères, et il fut enterré avec ses pères dans la ville de David, son père; et Josaphat, son fils, régna à sa place.
25 And Nadab son of Jeroboam has reigned over Israel, in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigns over Israel two years,
Nadab, fils de Jéroboam, régna sur Israël la deuxième année d'Asa, roi de Juda, et il régna deux ans sur Israël.
26 and does evil in the eyes of YHWH, and goes in the way of his father, and in his sin that he made Israel to sin.
Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel, et il marcha dans la voie de son père, dans le péché par lequel il avait fait pécher Israël.
27 And Baasha son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspires against him, and Baasha strikes him in Gibbethon, which [belonged] to the Philistines—and Nadab and all Israel are laying siege against Gibbethon—
Baasha, fils d'Achija, de la maison d'Issacar, conspira contre lui, et Baasha le frappa à Gibbethon, qui appartenait aux Philistins, car Nadab et tout Israël assiégeaient Gibbethon.
28 indeed, Baasha puts him to death in the third year of Asa king of Judah, and reigns in his stead.
La troisième année d'Asa, roi de Juda, Baasha le tua et régna à sa place.
29 And it comes to pass, at his reigning, he has struck the whole house of Jeroboam, he has not left any breathing to Jeroboam until his destroying him, according to the word of YHWH, that He spoke by the hand of His servant Ahijah the Shilonite,
Dès qu'il fut roi, il frappa toute la maison de Jéroboam. Il ne laissa à Jéroboam aucun être qui respirait, jusqu'à ce qu'il l'eût fait périr, selon la parole que Yahvé avait prononcée par son serviteur Achija, le Silonite,
30 because of the sins of Jeroboam that he sinned, and that he caused Israel to sin, by his provocation with which he provoked YHWH, God of Israel, to anger.
à cause des péchés que Jéroboam avait commis et par lesquels il avait fait pécher Israël, à cause de la provocation par laquelle il avait irrité Yahvé, le Dieu d'Israël.
31 And the rest of the matters of Nadab and all that he did, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
Et le reste des actes de Nadab, et tout ce qu'il a fait, n'est-ce pas écrit dans le livre des chroniques des rois d'Israël?
32 And there has been war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel [for] all their days.
Il y eut guerre entre Asa et Baescha, roi d'Israël, pendant toute leur vie.
33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha son of Ahijah has reigned over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty-four years,
La troisième année d'Asa, roi de Juda, Baescha, fils d'Achija, régna sur tout Israël à Thirtsa pendant vingt-quatre ans.
34 and he does evil in the eyes of YHWH, and walks in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin that he caused Israel to sin.
Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel et marcha dans la voie de Jéroboam, dans le péché par lequel il avait fait pécher Israël.
