1 John 3
1 See what love the Father has given to us, that we may be called children of God; because of this the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
ปศฺยต วยมฺ อีศฺวรสฺย สนฺตานา อิติ นามฺนาขฺยามเห, เอเตน ปิตาสฺมภฺยํ กีทฺฤกฺ มหาเปฺรม ปฺรทตฺตวานฺ, กินฺตุ สํสารสฺตํ นาชานาตฺ ตตฺการณาทสฺมานฺ อปิ น ชานาติฯ
2 Beloved, now, we are children of God, and it was not yet revealed what we will be. We have known that if He may have appeared, we will be like Him, because we will see Him as He is;
เห ปฺริยตมา: , อิทานีํ วยมฺ อีศฺวรสฺย สนฺตานา อาสฺมเห ปศฺจาตฺ กึ ภวิษฺยามสฺตทฺ อทฺยาปฺยปฺรกาศิตํ กินฺตุ ปฺรกาศํ คเต วยํ ตสฺย สทฺฤศา ภวิษฺยามิ อิติ ชานีม: , ยต: ส ยาทฺฤโศ 'สฺติ ตาทฺฤโศ 'สฺมาภิรฺทรฺศิษฺยเตฯ
3 and everyone who is having this hope on Him, purifies himself, even as He is pure.
ตสฺมินฺ เอษา ปฺรตฺยาศา ยสฺย กสฺยจิทฺ ภวติ ส สฺวํ ตถา ปวิตฺรํ กโรติ ยถา ส ปวิโตฺร 'สฺติฯ
4 Everyone who is doing sin, he also does lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness,
ย: กศฺจิตฺ ปาปมฺ อาจรติ ส วฺยวสฺถาลงฺฆนํ กโรติ ยต: ปาปเมว วฺยวสฺถาลงฺฆนํฯ
5 and you have known that He appeared that He may take away our sins, and sin is not in Him;
อปรํ โส 'สฺมากํ ปาปานฺยปหรฺตฺตุํ ปฺรากาศไตตทฺ ยูยํ ชานีถ, ปาปญฺจ ตสฺมินฺ น วิทฺยเตฯ
6 everyone who is remaining in Him does not sin; everyone who is sinning, has not seen Him, nor known Him.
ย: กศฺจิตฺ ตสฺมินฺ ติษฺฐติ ส ปาปาจารํ น กโรติ ย: กศฺจิตฺ ปาปาจารํ กโรติ ส ตํ น ทฺฤษฺฏวานฺ น วาวคตวานฺฯ
7 Little children, let no one lead you astray; he who is doing righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous,
เห ปฺริยพาลกา: , กศฺจิทฺ ยุษฺมากํ ภฺรมํ น ชนเยตฺ, ย: กศฺจิทฺ ธรฺมฺมาจารํ กโรติ ส ตาทฺฤคฺ ธารฺมฺมิโก ภวติ ยาทฺฤกฺ ส ธามฺมิโก 'สฺติฯ
8 he who is doing sin, he is of the Devil, because the Devil sins from the beginning; for this [reason] the Son of God appeared, that He may undo the works of the Devil;
ย: ปาปาจารํ กโรติ ส ศยตานาตฺ ชาโต ยต: ศยตาน อาทิต: ปาปาจารี ศยตานสฺย กรฺมฺมณำ โลปารฺถเมเวศฺวรสฺย ปุตฺร: ปฺรากาศตฯ
9 everyone who has been begotten of God, he does not sin, because His seed remains in him, and he is not able to sin, because he has been begotten of God.
ย: กศฺจิทฺ อีศฺวราตฺ ชาต: ส ปาปาจารํ น กโรติ ยตสฺตสฺย วีรฺยฺยํ ตสฺมินฺ ติษฺฐติ ปาปาจารํ กรฺตฺตุญฺจ น ศกฺโนติ ยต: ส อีศฺวราตฺ ชาต: ฯ
10 In this are revealed the children of God, and the children of the Devil; everyone who is not doing righteousness, is not of God, and he who is not loving his brother,
อิตฺยเนเนศฺวรสฺย สนฺตานา: ศยตานสฺย จ สนฺตานา วฺยกฺตา ภวนฺติฯ ย: กศฺจิทฺ ธรฺมฺมาจารํ น กโรติ ส อีศฺวราตฺ ชาโต นหิ ยศฺจ สฺวภฺราตริ น ปฺรียเต โส 'ปีศฺวราตฺ ชาโต นหิฯ
11 because this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we may love one another,
ยตสฺตสฺย ย อาเทศ อาทิโต ยุษฺมาภิ: ศฺรุต: ส เอษ เอว ยทฺ อสฺมาภิ: ปรสฺปรํ เปฺรม กรฺตฺตวฺยํฯ
12 not as Cain—he was of the evil one, and he slew his brother. And for [what] reason did he slay him? Because his works were evil, and those of his brother [were] righteous.
ปาปาตฺมโต ชาโต ย: กาพิลฺ สฺวภฺราตรํ หตวานฺ ตตฺสทฺฤไศรสฺมาภิ รฺน ภวิตวฺยํฯ ส กสฺมาตฺ การณาตฺ ตํ หตวานฺ? ตสฺย กรฺมฺมาณิ ทุษฺฏานิ ตทฺภฺราตุศฺจ กรฺมฺมาณิ ธรฺมฺมาณฺยาสนฺ อิติ การณาตฺฯ
13 Do not wonder, my brothers, if the world hates you;
เห มม ภฺราตร: , สํสาโร ยทิ ยุษฺมานฺ เทฺวษฺฏิ ตรฺหิ ตทฺ อาศฺจรฺยฺยํ น มนฺยธฺวํฯ
14 we have known that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers; he who is not loving [his] brother remains in death.
วยํ มฺฤตฺยุมฺ อุตฺตีรฺยฺย ชีวนํ ปฺราปฺตวนฺตสฺตทฺ ภฺราตฺฤษุ เปฺรมกรณาตฺ ชานีม: ฯ ภฺราตริ โย น ปฺรียเต ส มฺฤเตฺยา ติษฺฐติฯ
15 Everyone who is hating his brother is a manslayer, and you have known that no manslayer has continuous life remaining in him; (aiōnios g166)
ย: กศฺจิตฺ สฺวภฺราตรํ เทฺวษฺฏิ สํ นรฆาตี กิญฺจานนฺตชีวนํ นรฆาติน: กสฺยาปฺยนฺตเร นาวติษฺฐเต ตทฺ ยูยํ ชานีถฯ (aiōnios g166)
16 in this we have known love, because He laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down [our] lives for the brothers;
อสฺมากํ กฺฤเต ส สฺวปฺราณำสฺตฺยกฺตวานฺ อิตฺยเนน วยํ เปฺรมฺนสฺตตฺตฺวมฺ อวคตา: , อปรํ ภฺราตฺฤณำ กฺฤเต 'สฺมาภิรปิ ปฺราณาสฺตฺยกฺตวฺยา: ฯ
17 and whoever may have the goods of the world, and may view his brother having need, and may shut up his yearnings from him—how does the love of God remain in him?
สำสาริกชีวิกาปฺราปฺโต โย ชน: สฺวภฺราตรํ ทีนํ ทฺฤษฺฏฺวา ตสฺมาตฺ สฺวียทยำ รุณทฺธิ ตสฺยานฺตร อีศฺวรสฺย เปฺรม กถํ ติษฺเฐตฺ?
18 My little children, may we not love in word nor in tongue, but in work and in truth!
เห มม ปฺริยพาลกา: , วาเกฺยน ชิหฺวยา วาสฺมาภิ: เปฺรม น กรฺตฺตวฺยํ กินฺตุ การฺเยฺยณ สตฺยตยา ไจวฯ
19 And in this we know that we are of the truth, and before Him we will assure our hearts,
เอเตน วยํ ยตฺ สตฺยมตสมฺพนฺธียาสฺตตฺ ชานีมสฺตสฺย สากฺษาตฺ สฺวานฺต: กรณานิ สานฺตฺวยิตุํ ศกฺษฺยามศฺจฯ
20 because if our heart may condemn—because greater is God than our heart, and He knows all things.
ยโต 'สฺมทนฺต: กรณํ ยทฺยสฺมานฺ ทูษยติ ตรฺหฺยสฺมทนฺต: กรณาทฺ อีศฺวโร มหานฺ สรฺวฺวชฺญศฺจฯ
21 Beloved, if our heart may not condemn us, we have boldness toward God,
เห ปฺริยตมา: , อสฺมทนฺต: กรณํ ยทฺยสฺมานฺ น ทูษยติ ตรฺหิ วยมฺ อีศฺวรสฺย สากฺษาตฺ ปฺรติภานฺวิตา ภวาม: ฯ
22 and whatever we may ask, we receive from Him, because we keep His commands, and we do the things pleasing before Him,
ยจฺจ ปฺรารฺถยามเห ตตฺ ตสฺมาตฺ ปฺราปฺนุม: , ยโต วยํ ตสฺยาชฺญา: ปาลยามสฺตสฺย สากฺษาตฺ ตุษฺฏิชนกมฺ อาจารํ กุรฺมฺมศฺจฯ
23 and this is His command, that we may believe in the Name of His Son Jesus Christ, and may love one another, even as He gave command to us,
อปรํ ตเสฺยยมาชฺญา ยทฺ วยํ ปุตฺรสฺย ยีศุขฺรีษฺฏสฺย นามฺนิ วิศฺวสิมสฺตสฺยาชฺญานุสาเรณ จ ปรสฺปรํ เปฺรม กุรฺมฺม: ฯ
24 and he who is keeping His commands, remains in Him, and He in him; and in this we know that He remains in us, from the Spirit that He gave us.
ยศฺจ ตสฺยาชฺญา: ปาลยติ ส ตสฺมินฺ ติษฺฐติ ตสฺมินฺ โส'ปิ ติษฺฐติ; ส จาสฺมานฺ ยมฺ อาตฺมานํ ทตฺตวานฺ ตสฺมาตฺ โส 'สฺมาสุ ติษฺฐตีติ ชานีม: ฯ
