1 John 2
1 My little children, these things I write to you that you may not sin: and if anyone may sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, [the] Righteous One,
Watoto wangu wapendwa, nawaandikia haya ili msitende dhambi. Lakini kama mtu yeyote akitenda dhambi, tunaye Mwombezi kwa Baba: ndiye Yesu Kristo, Mwenye Haki.
2 and He is [the] propitiation for our sins, and not only for ours, but also for the whole world,
Yeye ndiye dhabihu ya upatanisho kwa ajili ya dhambi zetu, wala si kwa ajili ya dhambi zetu tu, bali pia kwa ajili ya dhambi za ulimwengu wote.
3 and in this we know that we have known Him, if we may keep His commands;
Basi katika hili twajua ya kuwa tumemjua, tukizishika amri zake.
4 he who is saying, “I have known Him,” and is not keeping His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;
Mtu yeyote asemaye kuwa, “Ninamjua,” lakini hazishiki amri zake, ni mwongo, wala ndani ya mtu huyo hamna kweli.
5 and whoever may keep His word, truly the love of God has been perfected in him; in this we know that we are in Him.
Lakini mtu yeyote anayelitii neno lake, upendo wa Mungu umekamilika ndani yake kweli kweli. Katika hili twajua kuwa tumo ndani yake.
6 He who is saying he remains in Him, himself ought to also walk according as He walked.
Yeyote anayesema anakaa ndani yake hana budi kuenenda kama Yesu alivyoenenda.
7 Beloved, I do not write a new command to you, but an old command, that you had from the beginning—the old command is the word that you heard from the beginning;
Wapendwa, siwaandikii ninyi amri mpya bali ile ya zamani, ambayo mmekuwa nayo tangu mwanzo. Amri hii ya zamani ni lile neno mlilosikia.
8 again, a new command I write to you, which is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away, and the true light now shines;
Lakini nawaandikia amri mpya, yaani, lile neno lililo kweli ndani yake na ndani yenu, kwa sababu giza linapita na ile nuru ya kweli tayari inangʼaa.
9 he who is saying he is in the light, and is hating his brother, he is in the darkness until now;
Yeyote anayesema yumo nuruni lakini anamchukia ndugu yake bado yuko gizani.
10 he who is loving his brother, he remains in the light, and there is not a stumbling-block in him;
Yeye ampendaye ndugu yake anakaa nuruni, wala hakuna kitu chochote ndani yake cha kumkwaza.
11 but he who is hating his brother, he is in the darkness, and he walks in the darkness, and he has not known where he goes, because the darkness blinded his eyes.
Lakini yeyote amchukiaye ndugu yake, yuko gizani na anaenenda gizani, wala hajui anakokwenda, kwa sababu giza limempofusha macho.
12 I write to you, little children, because sins have been forgiven you through His Name;
Nawaandikia ninyi, watoto wadogo, kwa sababu dhambi zenu zimesamehewa kwa ajili ya Jina lake.
13 I write to you, fathers, because you have known Him who [is] from the beginning; I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil [one]; I write to you, little youths, because you have known the Father;
Nawaandikia ninyi, akina baba, kwa sababu mmemjua yeye aliye tangu mwanzo. Nawaandikia ninyi vijana kwa sababu mmemshinda yule mwovu. Nawaandikia ninyi watoto wadogo, kwa sababu mmemjua Baba.
14 I wrote to you, fathers, because you have known Him who [is] from the beginning; I wrote to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God remains in you, and you have overcome the evil [one].
Nawaandikia ninyi akina baba, kwa sababu mmemjua yeye aliye tangu mwanzo. Nawaandikia ninyi vijana, kwa sababu mna nguvu, na neno la Mungu linakaa ndani yenu, nanyi mmemshinda yule mwovu.
15 Do not love the world, nor the things in the world; if anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him,
Msiupende ulimwengu wala mambo yaliyo ulimwenguni. Kama mtu yeyote akiupenda ulimwengu, upendo wa Baba haumo ndani yake.
16 because all that [is] in the world—the desire of the flesh, and the desire of the eyes, and the ostentation of [one’s] life—is not of the Father, but of the world,
Kwa maana kila kitu kilichomo ulimwenguni, yaani tamaa ya mwili, tamaa ya macho na kiburi cha uzima, havitokani na Baba bali hutokana na ulimwengu.
17 and the world is passing away, and the desire of it, but he who is doing the will of God, he remains—throughout the age. (aiōn g165)
Nao ulimwengu unapita, pamoja na tamaa zake, bali yeye afanyaye mapenzi ya Mungu adumu milele. (aiōn g165)
18 Little youths, it is the last hour; and even as you heard that the antichrist comes, even now antichrists have become many—whereby we know that it is [the] last hour;
Watoto wadogo, huu ni wakati wa mwisho! Kama mlivyosikia kwamba mpinga Kristo anakuja, hivyo basi wapinga Kristo wengi wamekwisha kuja. Kutokana na hili twajua kwamba huu ni wakati wa mwisho.
19 they went forth out of us, but they were not of us, for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but [they went out] so that they might be revealed that they are not all of us.
Walitoka kwetu, lakini hawakuwa wa kwetu hasa. Kwa maana kama wangelikuwa wa kwetu, wangelikaa pamoja nasi, lakini kutoka kwao kulionyesha kwamba hakuna hata mmoja wao aliyekuwa wa kwetu.
20 And you have an anointing from the Holy One, and have known all things;
Lakini ninyi mmetiwa mafuta na yeye Aliye Mtakatifu, nanyi nyote mnaijua kweli.
21 I did not write to you because you have not known the truth, but because you have known it, and because no lie is of the truth.
Siwaandikii kwa sababu hamuijui kweli, bali kwa sababu mnaijua, nanyi mnajua hakuna uongo utokao katika kweli.
22 Who is the liar, except he who is denying that Jesus is the Christ? This one is the antichrist who is denying the Father and the Son;
Je, mwongo ni nani? Mwongo ni mtu yule asemaye kwamba Yesu si Kristo. Mtu wa namna hiyo ndiye mpinga Kristo, yaani, yeye humkana Baba na Mwana.
23 everyone who is denying the Son, neither has the Father; he who is confessing the Son has the Father also.
Hakuna yeyote amkanaye Mwana aliye na Baba. Yeyote anayemkubali Mwana anaye na Baba pia.
24 You, then, that which you heard from the beginning, let it remain in you; if that which you heard from the beginning may remain in you, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father,
Hakikisheni kwamba lile mlilosikia tangu mwanzo linakaa ndani yenu. Kama lile mlilosikia tangu mwanzo linakaa ndani yenu, ninyi nanyi mtakaa ndani ya Mwana na ndani ya Baba.
Hii ndiyo ahadi yake kwetu, yaani, uzima wa milele. (aiōnios g166)
26 These things I wrote to you concerning those leading you astray;
Nawaandikia mambo haya kuhusu wale watu ambao wanajaribu kuwapotosha.
27 and you, the anointing that you received from Him, it remains in you, and you have no need that anyone may teach you, but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all, and is true, and is not a lie, and even as was taught you, you will remain in Him.
Nanyi, upako mlioupata kutoka kwake unakaa ndani yenu, wala ninyi hamna haja ya mtu yeyote kuwafundisha. Lakini kama vile upako wake unavyowafundisha kuhusu mambo yote nayo ni kweli wala si uongo, basi kama ulivyowafundisha kaeni ndani yake.
28 And now, little children, remain in Him, so that when He may have appeared, we may have boldness, and may not be ashamed before Him, at His coming;
Sasa basi, watoto wapendwa, kaeni ndani yake, ili atakapofunuliwa, tuwe na ujasiri, wala tusiaibike mbele zake wakati wa kuja kwake.
29 if you know that He is righteous, know that everyone doing righteousness, has been begotten of Him.
Kama mkijua kuwa yeye ni mwenye haki, mwajua kwamba kila atendaye haki amezaliwa naye.
