1 Corinthians 6

1 Dare anyone of you, having a matter with the other, go to be judged before the unrighteous, and not before the holy ones?

yuSmAkamEkasya janasyAparENa saha vivAdE jAtE sa pavitralOkai rvicAramakArayan kim adhArmmikalOkai rvicArayituM prOtsahatE?

2 Have you not known that the holy ones will judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are you unworthy of the smaller judgments?

jagatO'pi vicAraNaM pavitralOkaiH kAriSyata Etad yUyaM kiM na jAnItha? atO jagad yadi yuSmAbhi rvicArayitavyaM tarhi kSudratamavicArESu yUyaM kimasamarthAH?

3 Have you not known that we will judge messengers? Why not then the things of life?

dUtA apyasmAbhi rvicArayiSyanta iti kiM na jAnItha? ata aihikaviSayAH kim asmAbhi rna vicArayitavyA bhavEyuH?

4 Of the things of life, indeed, then, if you may have judgment, those despised in the Assembly—these you cause to sit;

aihikaviSayasya vicArE yuSmAbhiH karttavyE yE lOkAH samitau kSudratamAsta Eva niyujyantAM|

5 I speak to your shame: so there is not among you one wise man, not even one, who will be able to discern in the midst of his brothers!

ahaM yuSmAn trapayitumicchan vadAmi yRSmanmadhyE kimEkO'pi manuSyastAdRg buddhimAnnahi yO bhrAtRvivAdavicAraNE samarthaH syAt?

6 But brother with brother goes to be judged, and this before unbelievers!

kinjcaikO bhrAtA bhrAtrAnyEna kimavizvAsinAM vicArakANAM sAkSAd vivadatE? yaSmanmadhyE vivAdA vidyanta Etadapi yuSmAkaM dOSaH|

7 Already, indeed, then, there is altogether a fault among you, that you have judgments with one another; why do you not rather suffer injustice? Why not be defrauded?

yUyaM kutO'nyAyasahanaM kSatisahanaM vA zrEyO na manyadhvE?

8 But you do injustice, and you defraud, and these—brothers!

kintu yUyamapi bhrAtRnEva pratyanyAyaM kSatinjca kurutha kimEtat?

9 Have you not known that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be led astray; neither whoremongers, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor sodomites,

Izvarasya rAjyE'nyAyakAriNAM lOkAnAmadhikArO nAstyEtad yUyaM kiM na jAnItha? mA vanjcyadhvaM, yE vyabhicAriNO dEvArccinaH pAradArikAH strIvadAcAriNaH puMmaithunakAriNastaskarA

10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God.

lObhinO madyapA nindakA upadrAviNO vA ta Izvarasya rAjyabhAginO na bhaviSyanti|

11 And certain of you were these! But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were declared righteous, in the Name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.

yUyanjcaivaMvidhA lOkA Asta kintu prabhO ryIzO rnAmnAsmadIzvarasyAtmanA ca yUyaM prakSAlitAH pAvitAH sapuNyIkRtAzca|

12 All things are lawful to me, but all things are not profitable; all things are lawful to me, but I will not be under authority by any;

madarthaM sarvvaM dravyam apratiSiddhaM kintu na sarvvaM hitajanakaM|madarthaM sarvvamapratiSiddhaM tathApyahaM kasyApi dravyasya vazIkRtO na bhaviSyAmi|

13 the meats [are] for the belly, and the belly for the meats. And God will make useless both this and these; and the body [is] not for whoredom, but for the LORD, and the LORD for the body;

udarAya bhakSyANi bhakSyEbhyazcOdaraM, kintu bhakSyOdarE IzvarENa nAzayiSyEtE; aparaM dEhO na vyabhicArAya kintu prabhavE prabhuzca dEhAya|

14 and God raised both the LORD, and will raise us up through His power.

yazcEzvaraH prabhumutthApitavAn sa svazaktyAsmAnapyutthApayiSyati|

15 Have you not known that your bodies are members of Christ? Having taken, then, the members of the Christ, will I make [them] members of a prostitute? Let it not be!

yuSmAkaM yAni zarIrANi tAni khrISTasyAggAnIti kiM yUyaM na jAnItha? ataH khrISTasya yAnyaggAni tAni mayApahRtya vEzyAyA aggAni kiM kAriSyantE? tanna bhavatu|

16 Have you not known that he who is joined to the prostitute is one body? For it says, “The two will be into one flesh.”

yaH kazcid vEzyAyAm AsajyatE sa tayA sahaikadEhO bhavati kiM yUyamEtanna jAnItha? yatO likhitamAstE, yathA, tau dvau janAvEkAggau bhaviSyataH|

17 And he who is joined to the LORD is one spirit;

mAnavA yAnyanyAni kaluSANi kurvvatE tAni vapu rna samAvizanti kintu vyabhicAriNA svavigrahasya viruddhaM kalmaSaM kriyatE|

18 flee the whoredom; every sin—whatever a man may commit—is outside the body, and he who is committing whoredom sins against his own body.

mAnavA yAnyanyAni kaluSANi kurvvatE tAni vapu rna samAvizanti kintu vyabhicAriNA svavigrahasya viruddhaM kalmaSaM kriyatE|

19 Have you not known that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit in you, which you have from God? And you are not your own,

yuSmAkaM yAni vapUMsi tAni yuSmadantaHsthitasyEzvarAllabdhasya pavitrasyAtmanO mandirANi yUyanjca svESAM svAminO nAdhvE kimEtad yuSmAbhi rna jnjAyatE?

20 for you were bought with a price; glorify, then, God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

yUyaM mUlyEna krItA atO vapurmanObhyAm IzvarO yuSmAbhiH pUjyatAM yata Izvara Eva tayOH svAmI|
