1 Corinthians 6

1 Dare anyone of you, having a matter with the other, go to be judged before the unrighteous, and not before the holy ones?

כיצד אתם מביאים את מריבותיכם לבית־המשפט ומבקשים מן הלא־מאמינים לשפוט ביניכם? מדוע אינכם מבקשים מן המאמינים להוציא את הצדק לאור?

2 Have you not known that the holy ones will judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are you unworthy of the smaller judgments?

הרי אתם יודעים כי יבוא יום שאנחנו, המאמינים, נשפוט את העולם ונשלוט בו, אם כן מדוע אינכם מסוגלים לפתור בעצמכם בעיות קטנות כאלה?

3 Have you not known that we will judge messengers? Why not then the things of life?

האם אינכם יודעים שנשפוט אפילו את המלאכים בשמים? לכן מן הראוי שתוכלו לפחות לפתור את בעיותיכם אתם בעולם הזה.

4 Of the things of life, indeed, then, if you may have judgment, those despised in the Assembly—these you cause to sit;

מדוע אתם מחפשים את הצדק אצל הלא־מאמינים?

5 I speak to your shame: so there is not among you one wise man, not even one, who will be able to discern in the midst of his brothers!

התביישו לכם! האין ביניכם אדם נבון המסוגל ליישב את הבעיות האלה, לפני שמאמין אחד יתבע את אחיו לדין לפני לא מאמינים?

6 But brother with brother goes to be judged, and this before unbelievers!

7 Already, indeed, then, there is altogether a fault among you, that you have judgments with one another; why do you not rather suffer injustice? Why not be defrauded?

התנהגות כזאת היא בושה וחרפה! מדוע שלא תניחו לעצמכם להיות הנעלבים, המרומים או הנפגעים?

8 But you do injustice, and you defraud, and these—brothers!

במקום לנהוג כך, אתם בעצמכם פוגעים, מעליבים ומרמים את הזולת, ואפילו את אחיכם המאמינים.

9 Have you not known that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be led astray; neither whoremongers, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor sodomites,

האם אינכם יודעים כי לאנשים כאלה אין חלק במלכות האלוהים? אל תשלו את עצמכם ואל תעמידו פנים שאינכם יודעים זאת. כל מי שחי חיים לא־מוסריים, עובד אלילים, נואף ומקיים יחסי־מין עם בני מינו, לא ייקח חלק במלכות האלוהים.

10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God.

גם לגנבים, רודפי בצע, שתיינים, גדפנים, שודדים וגזלנים אין חלק במלכות האלוהים.

11 And certain of you were these! But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were declared righteous, in the Name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.

בעבר הלא רחוק היו אחדים מכם בין אלה, אולם אלוהים ניקה אתכם מחטאיכם, סלח לכם וקידש אתכם בזכות ישוע המשיח וברוח הקודש.

12 All things are lawful to me, but all things are not profitable; all things are lawful to me, but I will not be under authority by any;

אתם אומרים:”מותר לעשות הכול“, אבל לא כל דבר טוב בשבילכם. למרות”שמותר לי לעשות הכול“, אסור לי להשתעבד לשום דבר.

13 the meats [are] for the belly, and the belly for the meats. And God will make useless both this and these; and the body [is] not for whoredom, but for the LORD, and the LORD for the body;

קחו למשל את עניין האכילה: אלוהים נתן לנו תאבון לאכול ומערכת־עיכול לעכל את המזון, אולם אין זאת אומרת שעלינו לאכול מעל הדרוש לנו. אל תשתעבדו לאכילה, כי יבוא יום שאלוהים ייקח גם את העניין הזה. אין שום הצדקה לזנות ולניאוף! לא לשם כך נברא גופנו; גופנו נברא למען המשיח, והוא רוצה למלא אותו ברוחו.

14 and God raised both the LORD, and will raise us up through His power.

אלוהים יקים אותנו מן המתים בכוחו העצום, כמו שהקים את אדוננו ישוע המשיח.

15 Have you not known that your bodies are members of Christ? Having taken, then, the members of the Christ, will I make [them] members of a prostitute? Let it not be!

האם אינכם מבינים שגופיכם הם איברי המשיח? האם יכול אני להיות חלק מגוף המשיח, ובאותו זמן לקיים יחסים עם זונה? חס וחלילה!

16 Have you not known that he who is joined to the prostitute is one body? For it says, “The two will be into one flesh.”

כאשר אדם שוכב עם זונה הוא נעשה חלק ממנה, והיא נעשית חלק ממנו, שהרי ה׳ אמר לנו בכתבי־הקודש שלגביו מתאחדים השניים לבשר אחד,

17 And he who is joined to the LORD is one spirit;

בעוד שאדם המקדיש את עצמו לאדון, נעשה אחד איתו.

18 flee the whoredom; every sin—whatever a man may commit—is outside the body, and he who is committing whoredom sins against his own body.

מסיבה זאת אני מבקש בכל לשון של בקשה: רחקו מן הזנות! אף חטא אינו פוגע בעצם גוף החוטא, מלבד חטא הזנות.

19 Have you not known that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit in you, which you have from God? And you are not your own,

האם לא למדתם עדיין שגופכם הוא מקום משכן רוח הקודש שנתן לכם ה׳? גופכם אינו שייך לכם יותר.

20 for you were bought with a price; glorify, then, God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

מפני שאלוהים קנה אתכם במחיר יקר. על כן כבדו את אלוהים בכל איבר מגופכם השייך לו.
