1 Corinthians 5
1 Whoredom is actually heard of among you, and such whoredom as is not even named among the nations—as that one has the wife of the father!
On dit partout qu'il y a chez vous un cas de fornication, et de fornication telle qu'on n'en voit pas parmi les païens: Quelqu'un vivrait avec la femme de son père!
2 And you are having been puffed up, and did not rather mourn, that he may be removed out of the midst of you who did this work,
Et vous vous laissez enfler d'orgueil! et vous ne portez pas plutôt le deuil! et vous n'avez pas chassé de votre sein celui qui a commis une telle action!
3 for I indeed, as being absent as to the body, and present as to the spirit, have already judged, as being present, him who so worked this thing:
Eh bien, moi, absent de corps, mais présent en esprit, j'ai déjà jugé comme si j'étais présent celui qui a péché de la sorte:
4 in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ—you being gathered together, also my spirit—with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Au nom de notre Seigneur-Jésus, vous et mon esprit étant réunis, avec le pouvoir de notre Seigneur Jésus,
5 to deliver up such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the Day of the Lord Jesus.
je livre un tel homme à Satan pour la mortification de sa chair, afin que son esprit soit sauvé au jour du Seigneur Jésus.
6 Your glorying [is] not good; have you not known that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?
Il n'est pas beau, votre sujet d'orgueil! Ne savez-vous pas qu'un peu de levain fait lever toute la pâte?
7 Cleanse out, therefore, the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, according as you are unleavened, for our Passover was sacrificed for us also—Christ,
Jetez donc le vieux levain pour être une pâte nouvelle; aussi bien devez-vous être sans levain, puisque notre agneau pascal, Christ, a été immolé.
8 so that we may keep the celebration, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of evil and wickedness, but with unleavened [bread] of sincerity and truth.
Célébrons donc la fête, non avec du vieux levain, du levain de méchanceté et de perversité, mais avec les pains azymes de la pureté et de la vérité.
9 I wrote to you in the letter, not to keep company with whoremongers—
Je vous ai écrit dans ma lettre de ne point avoir de relations avec les impurs.
10 and certainly not with the whoremongers of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, seeing you ought then to go forth out of the world—
Je ne parlais pas absolument des impurs qui vivent dans le monde, ou des rapaces, avares ou idolâtres, car pour cela il vous faudrait sortir du monde.
11 and now, I wrote to you not to keep company with [him], if anyone, being named a brother, may be a whoremonger, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—do not even eat together with such a one;
Mais je vous ai écrit de ne point avoir de relations avec celui qui, se nommant votre frère, serait ou impur, ou rapace, ou idolâtre, ou calomniateur, ou ivrogne, ou avare, de ne pas même vous mettre à table avec un homme pareil!
12 for what have I also to judge those outside? Do you not judge those within?
Est-ce à moi de juger les gens du dehors? Ce sont ceux du dedans, n'est-ce pas, que vous avez à juger?
13 And judge those without God; and put away the evil from among yourselves.
Ceux du dehors Dieu les jugera. «Retranchez le coupable du milieu de vous!»
