1 Corinthians 13

1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of messengers, and do not have love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal;

१मी मनुष्यांच्या आणि देवदूतांच्या भाषेत बोललो पण माझ्याठायी प्रीती नसली, तर मी वाजणारी थाळी किंवा झणझणणारी झांज असा आहे.

2 and if I have prophecy, and know all the secrets, and all the knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, and do not have love, I am nothing;

२आणि माझ्यात संदेश देण्याची शक्ती असली, मला सर्व रहस्ये कळली व सर्व ज्ञान अवगत झाले आणि मला डोंगर हलवता येतील इतका माझ्यात पूर्ण विश्वास असला पण माझ्याठायी प्रीती नसली, तर मी काही नाही.

3 and if I give away all my goods to feed others, and if I give up my body that I may be burned, and do not have love, I am profited nothing.

३आणि जरी मी माझे सर्व धन गरजवंताच्या अन्नदानासाठी दिले आणि माझे शरीर होमार्पणासाठी दिले पण जर माझ्याठायी प्रीती नसली तर मला काही लाभ नाही.

4 Love is long-suffering, it is kind, love does not envy, love does not vaunt itself, is not puffed up,

४प्रीती सहनशील आहे, उपकारशील आहे, प्रीती हेवा करीत नाही; प्रीती बढाई मारीत नाही, फुगत नाही.

5 does not act unseemly, does not seek its own things, is not provoked, does not impute evil,

५प्रीती गैरशिस्तपणे वागत नाही, स्वहित पाहत नाही, चिडत नाही, अपकार स्मरत नाही.

6 [does] not rejoice over unrighteousness, and rejoices with the truth;

६प्रीती अनीतीत आनंद मानीत नाही. परंतु सत्याविषयी ती आनंद मानते.

7 it bears all things, it believes all, it hopes all, it endures all.

७प्रीती सर्व गोष्टी सहन करते, सर्व गोष्टींवर विश्वास ठेवते, सर्व गोष्टींची आशा करते, सर्व गोष्टी सहन करते.

8 Love never fails; and whether [there be] prophecies, they will become useless; whether tongues, they will cease; whether knowledge, it will become useless;

८प्रीती कधीच संपत नाही; भविष्यवाण्या असतील त्या निरुपयोगी होतील, भाषा असतील त्या नाहीशा होतील, ज्ञान असेल ते नाहीसे होईल;

9 for we know in part, and we prophesy in part;

९कारण आमचे ज्ञान अपूर्ण आहे, आम्ही अपूर्ण भविष्य सांगतो.

10 and when that which is perfect may come, then that which [is] in part will become useless.

१०पण जेव्हा पूर्णत्व येते तेव्हा जे अपूर्ण आहे ते नाहीसे केले जाईल.

11 When I was a child, I was speaking as a child, I was thinking as a child, I was reasoning as a child, and when I have become a man, I have made useless the things of the child;

११जेव्हा मी मूल होतो, तेव्हा मूलासारखा बोलत असे, मी मूलासारखा विचार करीत असे. मुलासारखा समजत असे. परंतु जेव्हा मी मोठा झालो, तेव्हा मी लहानपणाच्या गोष्टी सोडून दिल्या आहेत.

12 for we now see obscurely through a mirror, and then face to face; now I know in part, and then I will fully know, as I was also known;

१२आता आपण आरशात अस्पष्ट प्रतिबिंब पाहतो, परंतु जेव्हा पूर्णत्व येते तेव्हा आपण समोरासमोर पाहू. आता मला अंशतःकळते, पण नंतर मला जसे पूर्णपणे ओळखण्यात आले आहे, तसे मी पूर्णपणे ओळखीन,

13 and now there remains faith, hope, love—these three; and the greatest of these [is] love.

१३सारांश, विश्वास, आशा आणि प्रीती ही तिन्ही कायम राहतात. पण यामध्ये प्रीती श्रेष्ठ आहे.
