1 Corinthians 13

1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of messengers, and do not have love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal;

ನಾನು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನೂ, ದೇವದೂತರ ಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮಾತನಾಡುವವನಾದರೂ ನನಗೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ, ನಾದ ಕೊಡುವ ಕಂಚೂ ಗಣಗಣಿಸುವ ತಾಳವೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ.

2 and if I have prophecy, and know all the secrets, and all the knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, and do not have love, I am nothing;

ನನಗೆ ಪ್ರವಾದನ ವರವಿದ್ದರೂ ನಾನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಹಸ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಸಕಲ ವಿದ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದರೂ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳನ್ನು ಕದಲಿಸುವಷ್ಟು ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿದ್ದರೂ ನನಗೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಶೂನ್ಯನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ.

3 and if I give away all my goods to feed others, and if I give up my body that I may be burned, and do not have love, I am profited nothing.

ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ದಾನಮಾಡಿದರೂ, ನಾನು ಹೊಗಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ನನ್ನ ದೇಹವನ್ನು ಸುಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರೂ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯು ನನಗಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ, ನನಗೇನೂ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

4 Love is long-suffering, it is kind, love does not envy, love does not vaunt itself, is not puffed up,

ಪ್ರೀತಿ ತಾಳ್ಮೆಯುಳ್ಳದ್ದು, ಪ್ರೀತಿ ದಯೆಯುಳ್ಳದ್ದು, ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಅಸೂಯೆಪಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಹೊಗಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಗರ್ವಪಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,

5 does not act unseemly, does not seek its own things, is not provoked, does not impute evil,

ಪ್ರೀತಿಯು ಇತರರನ್ನು ಅವಮಾನಪಡಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಸ್ವಹಿತವನ್ನೇ ಹುಡುಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ಸಿಟ್ಟುಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಅಪಕಾರವನ್ನು ಎಣಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,

6 [does] not rejoice over unrighteousness, and rejoices with the truth;

ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಸತ್ಯದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷ ಪಡುತ್ತದೆ.

7 it bears all things, it believes all, it hopes all, it endures all.

ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತದೆ, ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ನಂಬುತ್ತದೆ, ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತದೆ, ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಸಹಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ.

8 Love never fails; and whether [there be] prophecies, they will become useless; whether tongues, they will cease; whether knowledge, it will become useless;

ಪ್ರೀತಿಯು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಅಳಿದುಹೋಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಪ್ರವಾದನೆಗಳಾದರೋ ಇಲ್ಲದಂತಾಗುವುವು, ಅನ್ಯ ಭಾಷೆಗಳು ಗತಿಸಿ ಹೋಗುವುವು, ವಿದ್ಯೆಯೋ ಇಲ್ಲದಂತಾಗುವುವು.

9 for we know in part, and we prophesy in part;

ನಾವು ಅಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ, ಅಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.

10 and when that which is perfect may come, then that which [is] in part will become useless.

ಆದರೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾದದ್ದು ಬಂದಾಗ, ಭಾಗವಾದದ್ದು ಅಳಿದುಹೋಗುವುದು.

11 When I was a child, I was speaking as a child, I was thinking as a child, I was reasoning as a child, and when I have become a man, I have made useless the things of the child;

ನಾನು ಬಾಲಕನಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ, ಬಾಲಕನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡಿದೆನು, ಬಾಲಕನಂತೆ ಯೋಚಿಸಿದೆನು, ಬಾಲಕನಂತೆಯೇ ತರ್ಕಿಸಿದೆನು. ಪ್ರೌಢನಾದಾಗ ಬಾಲ್ಯದವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟೆನು.

12 for we now see obscurely through a mirror, and then face to face; now I know in part, and then I will fully know, as I was also known;

ಈಗ ನಾವು ಕನ್ನಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊಬ್ಬಾಗಿ ನೋಡುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಆಗ ಮುಖಾಮುಖಿಯಾಗಿ ನೋಡುವೆವು. ಈಗ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಮಾತ್ರ ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ. ಆಗ ದೇವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಂತೆ, ನಾನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆನು.

13 and now there remains faith, hope, love—these three; and the greatest of these [is] love.

ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ನಂಬಿಕೆ, ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ, ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ಈ ಮೂರೇ ಉಳಿದಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ಇವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹತ್ತಾದದ್ದು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯೇ.
