< 1 Corinthians 10 >
1 And I do not wish you to be ignorant, brothers, that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea,
PWE ri ai kan, i men, komail en aja duen jam atail akan, me mi pan palin dapok eu o kotela madau o.
2 and all were immersed into Moses in the cloud, and in the sea;
Irail karoj ap paptaij on Mojej ni palin dapok o ni madau o,
3 and all ate the same spiritual food,
O karoj tunoler jak nenin,
4 and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they were drinking of a spiritual rock following them, and the rock was the Christ;
O karoj nim jan pil nenin; pwe irail nim jan paip nenin, me kotikot re’rail, iei paip o Krijtuj.
5 but in the most of them God was not well pleased, for they were strewn in the wilderness,
A me toto re’rail, me Kot jota kak kupuramauki, pwe irail lokidokilar nan jap tan.
6 and those things became types of us, for our not passionately desiring evil things, as also these desired.
A mepukat wiauier, pwe kitail de kaalemoni, pwe kitail ender inon ion me jued akan duen irail inon ion.
7 Neither become idolaters, as certain of them, as it has been written: “The people sat down to eat and to drink, and stood up to play”;
Komail pil ender kati ani mal due irail, duen a intinidier: Aramaj pukat mondi penan nam o nim ap uda madomadon.
8 neither may we commit whoredom, as certain of them committed whoredom, and there fell in one day twenty-three thousand;
Kitail pil der wia nenek, duen me akai irail wiadar, ap rianen jilekid mekilar ni ran ta ieu.
9 neither may we tempt the Christ, as also certain of them tempted, and perished by the serpents;
Kitail pil der kajonejon Krijtuj, duen akai irail kajonejon i, ap mekilar jerpent kai.
10 neither murmur, as also some of them murmured, and perished by the destroyer.
Komail pil der lipaned, duen akai ir lipanededar, ap kame kilar men kamekam men.
11 And all these things happened to those persons as types, and they were written for our admonition, to whom the end of the ages came, (aiōn )
Mepukat karoj wiaui on irail men kaalemoni; ap intinidier, pwe men panaui kin kitail, pwe kitail leler imwin kaua. (aiōn )
12 so that he who is thinking to stand—let him observe, lest he fall.
Ari ma amen lamelame, me a kajinenda, en kalaka pein i, pwe a de pupedi.
13 No temptation has taken you—except that of man; and God is faithful, who will not permit you to be tempted above what you are able, but He will make, with the temptation, also the outlet, for your being able to bear [it].
Jota jonejon eu lel on komail, i eta, me aramaj itar on pwe Kot me melel, me jota kin mueid on komail Jonejon eu me komail jota itar on, A ni jonejon a pan kotin kaimwijokela duen me pan kak pa omail
14 For this reason, my beloved, flee from the idolatry;
Ari kompoke pai kan, komail tane jan kati ani mal!
15 as to wise men I speak—judge what I say.
Mepukat i indai on komail, pwe komail me lolekon; a pein komail kajauiada, me i inda.
16 The cup of the blessing that we bless—is it not the fellowship of the blood of the Christ? The bread that we break—is it not the fellowship of the body of the Christ?
Dal en pai me kit kin kapaiada, kaidin i dal en atail jaupena ren ntan Krijtuj? O prot me kit kin pilitiki pajan, kaidin i atail jaupena en war en Krijtuj?
17 Because one bread, one body, are we the many—for we all partake of the one bread.
Pwe kitail me toto me lopon ta ieu, o war ta ieu, pwe kitail karoj tunole jan lopon ta ieu.
18 See Israel according to the flesh! Are those not eating the sacrifices in the fellowship of the altar?
Komail kilan Ijrael pali uduk. Irail me kin kan jan mairon, kaidin irail pil minimini on pei jaraui?
19 What do I say then? That an idol is anything? Or that a sacrifice offered to an idol is anything?
A da me i en inda? I en inda me mairon on ani mal meakot? De dikedik en ani mal meakot?
20 [No, ] but that the things that the nations sacrifice—they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not wish you to come into the fellowship of the demons.
A karoj me men liki kan maironki, re kin maironki on tewil akan a kaidin on Kot. A I jota mauki, komail en minimin on tewil akan.
21 You are not able to drink the cup of the LORD and the cup of demons; you are not able to partake of the table of the LORD and of the table of demons;
Komail jota kak nima jan dal en Kaun o pil jan dal en tewil akan; komail jota kak ian tepel en Kaun o pil tepel en tewil akan.
22 do we arouse the LORD to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?
De kitail en palian Kaun o? Kitail me kelail jan i?
23 All things are lawful to me, but not all things are profitable; all things are lawful to me, but not all things build up;
A muei oner meakaroj, a kaidin karoj me kin kamaula; a muei oner meakaroj, a kaidin karoj me kin kapunla.
24 let no one seek his own—but each another’s.
Jota amen me pan apwali pein a dipijou, a en amen.
25 Eat whatever is sold in the meat-market, not inquiring, because of the conscience,
Karoj me kin netila nan wajan netikila uduk, komail kan, ap der kalelapok duen jon ar, pwe komail der katoutouki injen omail.
26 for the earth and its fullness [are] the LORD’s;
Pwe japwilim en Kaun jappa o audepa kan.
27 and if anyone of the unbelieving calls you, and you wish to go, eat all that is set before you, inquiring nothing, because of the conscience;
A ma amen, me jopojon pan luke komail, en toun kapara kamadip, o ma komail men ian, ari, karoj me pan nek on komail, komail en kan, ap der kalelapok duen jon a, pwe komail der ka toutouki injen omail.
28 and if anyone may say to you, “This is a thing sacrificed to an idol,” do not eat, because of that one who showed [it], and of the conscience, for the LORD’s [is] the earth and its fullness:
A ma amen pan indan komail: Met kijan mairon en ani mal, komail der kan pweki i, me kajaledar, pwe komail der kawela injen arail.
29 and conscience, I say, not of yourself, but of the other, for why [is it] that my liberty is judged by another’s conscience?
A met i jolar inda duen pein injen om a duen injen en amen. Pwe menda injen en amen pan kajauiada ai jaladokelar?
30 And if I partake thankfully, why am I spoken of [as] evil, for that for which I give thanks?
Pwe ma i ian kan ki danke, menda i en kalok jued, pwe i tunole ni ai danke?
31 Whether, then, you eat, or drink, or do anything, do all to the glory of God;
Ari, ma komail kan de nim de wia meakot, komail en wia meakaroj, pwen wauneki Kot.
32 become offenseless, both to Jews and Greeks, and to the Assembly of God;
Komail der kadipikelekel men Juj, de men Krik, de momodijou en Kot,
33 as I also please all in all things, not seeking my own profit, but that of many—that they may be saved.
Duen i kin pok on amen amen ni ai wiawia kan karoj, o jo moneki me pein ai, pwen jauaja me toto, pwe irail en dorela.
