1 Corinthians 1
1 Paul, a called apostle of Jesus Christ, through the will of God, and Sosthenes the brother,
神の御意により召されてイエス・キリストの使徒となれるパウロ及び兄弟ソステネ、
2 to the Assembly of God that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called holy ones, with all those calling on the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place—both theirs and ours:
書をコリントに在る神の教會、即ちいづれの處にありても、我らの主、ただに我等のみならず彼らの主なるイエス・キリストの名を呼び求むる者とともに、聖徒となるべき召を蒙り、キリスト・イエスに在りて潔められたる汝らに贈る。
3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!
願はくは我らの父なる神および主イエス・キリストより賜ふ恩惠と平安と汝らに在らんことを。
4 I give thanks to my God always concerning you for the grace of God that was given to you in Christ Jesus,
われ汝らがキリスト・イエスに在りて神より賜はりし恩惠に就きて、常に神に感謝す。
5 that in everything you were enriched in Him, in all discourse and all knowledge,
汝らはキリストに在りて、諸般のこと即ち凡ての言と凡ての悟とに富みたればなり。
6 according as the testimony of the Christ was confirmed in you,
これキリストの證なんぢらの中に堅うせられたるに因る。
7 so that you are not behind in any gift, waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,
斯く汝らは凡ての賜物に缺くる所なくして、我らの主イエス・キリストの現れ給ふを待てり。
8 who also will confirm you to the end—unblamable in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ;
彼は汝らを終まで堅うして、我らの主イエス・キリストの日に責むべき所なからしめ給はん。
9 faithful [is] God, through whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
汝らを召して其の子われらの主イエス・キリストの交際に入らしめ給ふ神は眞實なる哉。
10 And I call on you, brothers, through the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that the same thing you may all say, and there may not be divisions among you, and you may be perfected in the same mind, and in the same judgment,
兄弟よ、我らの主イエス・キリストの名に頼りて汝らに勸む、おのおの語るところを同じうし、分爭する事なく、同じ心おなじ念にて全く一つになるべし。
11 for it was signified to me concerning you, my brothers, by those of Chloe, that contentions are among you;
わが兄弟よ、クロエの家の者、なんぢらの中に紛爭あることを我に知らせたり。
12 and I say this, that each one of you says, “I, indeed, am of Paul,” and “I of Apollos,” and “I of Cephas,” and “I of Christ.”
即ち汝 等おのおの『我はパウロに屬す』『われはアポロに』『我はケパに』『我はキリストに』と言ふこれなり。
13 Has the Christ been divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you immersed into the name of Paul?
キリストは分たるる者ならんや、パウロは汝らの爲に十字架につけられしや、汝らパウロの名に頼りてバプテスマを受けしや。
14 I give thanks to God that I immersed no one of you, except Crispus and Gaius—
我は感謝す、クリスポとガイオとの他には、我なんぢらの中の一人にもバプテスマを施さざりしを。
15 that no one may say that to my own name I immersed;
是わが名に頼りて汝らがバプテスマを受けしと人の言ふ事なからん爲なり。
16 and I also immersed Stephanas’ household—further, I have not known if I immersed any other.
またステパノの家族にバプテスマを施しし事あり、此の他には我バプテスマを施しし事ありや知らざるなり。
17 For Christ did not send me to immerse, but to proclaim good news, not in wisdom of discourse, that the Cross of the Christ may not be made of no effect;
そはキリストの我を遣し給へるはバプテスマを施させん爲にあらず、福音を宣傳へしめんとてなり。而して言の智慧をもつてせず、是キリストの十字架の虚しくならざらん爲なり。
18 for the word of the Cross to those indeed perishing is foolishness, and to us—those being saved—it is the power of God,
それ十字架の言は亡ぶる者には愚なれど、救はるる我らには神の能力なり。
19 for it has been written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the intelligence of the intelligent I will bring to nothing”;
録して、『われ智者の智慧をほろぼし、慧き者のさときを空しうせん』とあればなり。
20 where [is] the wise? Where the scribe? Where a disputer of this age? Did God not make foolish the wisdom of this world? (aiōn g165)
智者いづこにか在る、學者いづこにか在る、この世の論者いづこにか在る、神は世の智慧をして愚ならしめ給へるにあらずや。 (aiōn g165)
21 For seeing in the wisdom of God the world through the wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the preaching to save those believing.
世は己の智慧をもて神を知らず（これ神の智慧に適へるなり）この故に神は宣教の愚をもて、信ずる者を救ふを善しとし給へり。
22 Since also Jews ask a sign, and Greeks seek wisdom,
ユダヤ人は徴を請ひ、ギリシヤ人は智慧を求む。
23 also we preach Christ crucified, to Jews, indeed, a stumbling-block, and to Greeks foolishness,
されど我らは十字架に釘けられ給ひしキリストを宣傳ふ。これはユダヤ人に躓物となり、異邦人に愚となれど、
24 and to those called—both Jews and Greeks—Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God,
召されたる者にはユダヤ人にもギリシヤ人にも、神の能力また神の智慧たるキリストなり。
25 because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men;
神の愚は人よりも智く、神の弱は人よりも強ければなり。
26 for see your calling, brothers, that not many [are] wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble;
兄弟よ、召を蒙れる汝らを見よ、肉によれる智き者おほからず、能力ある者おほからず、貴きもの多からず。
27 but God chose the foolish things of the world that He may put the wise to shame; and God chose the weak things of the world that He may put the strong to shame;
されど神は智き者を辱しめんとて世の愚なる者を選び、強き者を辱しめんとて弱き者を選び、
28 and God chose the base things of the world, and the things despised, and the things that are not, that He may make useless the things that are—
有る者を亡さんとて世の卑しきもの、輕んぜらるる者、すなわち無きが如き者を選び給へり。
29 that no flesh may glory before Him;
これ神の前に人の誇る事なからん爲なり。
30 but out of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us from God wisdom, righteousness also, and sanctification, and redemption,
汝らは神に頼りてキリスト・イエスに在り、彼は神に立てられて我らの智慧と義と聖と救贖とになり給へり。
31 that, according as it has been written: “He who is glorying—let him glory in the LORD.”
これ『誇る者は主に頼りて誇るべし』と録されたる如くならん爲なり。
