1 Chronicles 25

1 And David and the heads of the host separate for service, of the sons of Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun, who are prophesying with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals; and the number of the workmen is according to their service.

Igitur David et magistratus exercitus segregaverunt in ministerium filios Asaph, et Heman, et Idithun, qui prophetarent in citharis, et psalteriis, et cymbalis secundum numerum suum, dedicato sibi officio servientes.

2 Of sons of Asaph: Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asharelah; sons of Asaph [are] by the side of Asaph, who is prophesying by the side of the king.

De filiis Asaph: Zachur, et Joseph, et Nathania, et Asarela, filii Asaph: sub manu Asaph prophetantis juxta regem.

3 Of Jeduthun, sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, [and Shimei, and] Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, by the side of their father Jeduthun; he is prophesying with a harp, for giving of thanks and of praise for YHWH.

Porro Idithun: filii Idithun, Godolias, Sori, Jeseias, et Hasabias, et Mathathias, sex, sub manu patris sui Idithun, qui in cithara prophetabat super confitentes et laudantes Dominum.

4 Of Heman, sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth;

Heman quoque: filii Heman, Bocciau, Mathaniau, Oziel, Subuel, et Jerimoth, Hananias, Hanani, Eliatha, Geddelthi, et Romemthiezer, et Jesbacassa, Mellothi, Othir, Mahazioth:

5 all these [are] sons of Heman, seer of the king in the things of God, to lift up a horn; and God gives fourteen sons and three daughters to Heman.

omnes isti filii Heman videntis regis in sermonibus Dei, ut exaltaret cornu: deditque Deus Heman filios quatuordecim, et filias tres.

6 All these [are] by the side of their father in the song of the house of YHWH, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God; by the side of the king [are] Asaph, and Jeduthun, and Heman.

Universi sub manu patris sui ad cantandum in templo Domini distributi erant, in cymbalis, et psalteriis, et citharis, in ministeria domus Domini juxta regem: Asaph videlicet, et Idithun, et Heman.

7 And their number, with their brothers taught in the song of YHWH—all who are intelligent—[is] two hundred and eighty-eight.

Fuit autem numerus eorum cum fratribus suis, qui erudiebant canticum Domini, cuncti doctores, ducenti octoginta octo.

8 And they cause lots to fall, charge next to [charge], the small as well as the great, the intelligent with the learner.

Miseruntque sortes per vices suas, ex æquo tam major quam minor, doctus pariter et indoctus.

9 And the first lot goes out for Asaph to Joseph; the second, Gedaliah—him, and his brothers and his sons—twelve;

Egressaque est sors prima Joseph, qui erat de Asaph. Secunda Godoliæ, ipsi et filiis ejus, et fratribus ejus duodecim.

10 the third, Zaccur, his sons and his brothers—twelve;

Tertia Zachur, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

11 the fourth to Izri, his sons and his brothers—twelve;

Quarta Isari, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

12 the fifth, Nethaniah, his sons and his brothers—twelve;

Quinta Nathaniæ, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

13 the sixth, Bukkiah, his sons and his brothers—twelve;

Sexta Bocciau, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

14 the seventh, Jesharelah, his sons and his brothers—twelve;

Septima Isreela, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

15 the eighth, Jeshaiah, his sons and his brothers—twelve;

Octava Jesaiæ, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

16 the ninth, Mattaniah, his sons and his brothers—twelve;

Nona Mathaniæ, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

17 the tenth, Shimei, his sons and his brothers—twelve:

Decima Semeiæ, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

18 eleventh, Azareel, his sons and his brothers—twelve;

Undecima Azareel, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

19 the twelfth to Hashabiah, his sons and his brothers—twelve;

Duodecima Hasabiæ, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

20 for the thirteenth, Shubael, his sons and his brothers—twelve;

Tertiadecima Subaël, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

21 for the fourteenth, Mattithiah, his sons and his brothers—twelve;

Quartadecima Mathathiæ, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

22 for the fifteenth to Jeremoth, his sons and his brothers—twelve;

Quintadecima Jerimoth, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

23 the sixteenth to Hananiah, his sons and his brothers—twelve;

Sextadecima Hananiæ, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

24 the seventeenth to Joshbekashah, his sons and his brothers—twelve;

Septimadecima Jesbacassæ, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

25 the eighteenth to Hanani, his sons and his brothers—twelve;

Octavadecima Hanani, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

26 the nineteenth to Mallothi, his sons and his brothers—twelve;

Nonadecima Mellothi, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

27 the twentieth to Eliathah, his sons and his brothers—twelve;

Vigesima Eliatha, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

28 the twenty-first to Hothir, his sons and his brothers—twelve;

Vigesima prima Othir, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

29 the twenty-second to Giddalti, his sons and his brothers—twelve;

Vigesima secunda Geddelthi, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

30 the twenty-third to Mahazioth, his sons and his brothers—twelve;

Vigesima tertia Mahazioth, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.

31 the twenty-fourth to Romamti-Ezer, his sons and his brothers—twelve.

Vigesima quarta Romemthiezer, filiis et fratribus ejus duodecim.
