1 Chronicles 24
1 And [these are] their divisions, of the sons of Aaron. [The] sons of Aaron [are] Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
| ולבני אהרן מחלקותם בני אהרן נדב ואביהוא אלעזר ואיתמר׃ |
2 And Nadab dies—and Abihu—in the presence of their father, and they had no sons, and Eleazar and Ithamar act as priests.
| וימת נדב ואביהוא לפני אביהם ובנים לא היו להם ויכהנו אלעזר ואיתמר׃ |
3 And David distributes them—and Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar—according to their office in their service;
| ויחלקם דויד וצדוק מן בני אלעזר ואחימלך מן בני איתמר לפקדתם בעבדתם׃ |
4 and there are found of the sons of Eleazar more for heads of the mighty men than of the sons of Ithamar; and they distribute them. Of the sons of Eleazar, heads for [each] house of [their] fathers—sixteen; and of the sons of Ithamar, for [each] house of their fathers—eight.
| וימצאו בני אלעזר רבים לראשי הגברים מן בני איתמר ויחלקום לבני אלעזר ראשים לבית אבות ששה עשר ולבני איתמר לבית אבותם שמונה׃ |
5 And they distribute them by lots, with one another, for they have been princes of the holy place and princes of God, from the sons of Eleazar and from the sons of Ithamar.
| ויחלקום בגורלות אלה עם אלה כי היו שרי קדש ושרי האלהים מבני אלעזר ובבני איתמר׃ |
6 And Shemaiah son of Nethaneel the scribe, of the Levites, writes them before the king, and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech son of Abiathar, and heads of the fathers for priests and for Levites, one house of a father being taken possession of for Eleazar and one being taken possession of for Ithamar.
| ויכתבם שמעיה בן נתנאל הסופר מן הלוי לפני המלך והשרים וצדוק הכהן ואחימלך בן אביתר וראשי האבות לכהנים וללוים בית אב אחד אחז לאלעזר ואחז אחז לאיתמר׃ |
7 And the first lot goes out for Jehoiarib, for Jedaiah the second,
| ויצא הגורל הראשון ליהויריב לידעיה השני׃ |
8 for Harim the third, for Seorim the fourth,
| לחרם השלישי לשערים הרבעי׃ |
9 for Malchijah the fifth, for Mijamin the sixth,
| למלכיה החמישי למימן הששי׃ |
10 for Hakkoz the seventh, for Abijah the eighth,
| להקוץ השבעי לאביה השמיני׃ |
11 for Jeshuah the ninth, for Shecaniah the tenth,
| לישוע התשעי לשכניהו העשרי׃ |
12 for Eliashib the eleventh, for Jakim the twelfth,
| לאלישיב עשתי עשר ליקים שנים עשר׃ |
13 for Huppah the thirteenth, for Jeshebeab the fourteenth,
| לחפה שלשה עשר לישבאב ארבעה עשר׃ |
14 for Bilgah the fifteenth, for Immer the sixteenth,
| לבלגה חמשה עשר לאמר ששה עשר׃ |
15 for Hezir the seventeenth, for Aphses the eighteenth,
| לחזיר שבעה עשר להפצץ שמונה עשר׃ |
16 for Pethahiah the nineteenth, for Jehezekel the twentieth,
| לפתחיה תשעה עשר ליחזקאל העשרים׃ |
17 for Jachin the twenty-first, for Gamul the twenty-second,
| ליכין אחד ועשרים לגמול שנים ועשרים׃ |
18 for Delaiah the twenty-third, for Maaziah the twenty-fourth.
| לדליהו שלשה ועשרים למעזיהו ארבעה ועשרים׃ |
19 These [are] their appointments for their service, to come into the house of YHWH, according to their ordinance by the hand of their father Aaron, as YHWH God of Israel commanded them.
| אלה פקדתם לעבדתם לבוא לבית יהוה כמשפטם ביד אהרן אביהם כאשר צוהו יהוה אלהי ישראל׃ |
20 And of the sons of Levi who are left—of sons of Amram: Shubael; of sons of Shubael: Jehdeiah.
| ולבני לוי הנותרים לבני עמרם שובאל לבני שובאל יחדיהו׃ |
21 Of Rehabiah, of sons of Rehabiah: the head Ishshiah.
| לרחביהו לבני רחביהו הראש ישיה׃ |
22 Of the Izharite: Shelomoth; of sons of Shelomoth: Jahath.
| ליצהרי שלמות לבני שלמות יחת׃ |
23 And sons of Jeriah: Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, Jekameam the fourth.
| ובני יריהו אמריהו השני יחזיאל השלישי יקמעם הרביעי׃ |
24 Sons of Uzziel: Michah; of sons of Michah: Shamir.
| בני עזיאל מיכה לבני מיכה שמור׃ |
25 Ishshiah [is] a brother of Michah; of sons of Ishshiah: Zechariah;
| אחי מיכה ישיה לבני ישיה זכריהו׃ |
26 sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi; sons of Jaaziah: Beno;
| בני מררי מחלי ומושי בני יעזיהו בנו׃ |
27 sons of Merari, of Jaaziah: Beno, and Shoham, and Zaccur, and Ibri.
| בני מררי ליעזיהו בנו ושהם וזכור ועברי׃ |
28 Of Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons;
| למחלי אלעזר ולא היה לו בנים׃ |
29 of Kish, sons of Kish: Jerahmeel.
| לקיש בני קיש ירחמאל׃ |
30 And sons of Mushi [are] Mahli, and Eder, and Jerimoth; these [are] sons of the Levites, for the house of their fathers,
| ובני מושי מחלי ועדר וירימות אלה בני הלוים לבית אבתיהם׃ |
31 and they also cast lots just as their brothers, the sons of Aaron, before David the king, and Zadok, and Ahimelech, and heads of the fathers for priests and for Levites; the chief father just as his younger brother.
| ויפילו גם הם גורלות לעמת אחיהם בני אהרן לפני דויד המלך וצדוק ואחימלך וראשי האבות לכהנים וללוים אבות הראש לעמת אחיו הקטן׃ |
