1 Chronicles 23
1 And David was old and satisfied with days, and he causes his son Solomon to reign over Israel,
अब दाऊद बुड्ढा और उम्र — दराज़ हो गया था, तब उसने अपने बेटे सुलेमान को इस्राईल का बादशाह बनाया।
2 and gathers all the heads of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites;
उसने इस्राईल के सब सरदारों को, काहिनों और लावियों समेत इकट्ठा किया।
3 and the Levites are numbered from a son of thirty years and upward, and their number, for their counted heads, is of thirty-eight thousand mighty men.
तीस बरस के और उससे ज़्यादा उम्र के लावी गिने गए, और उनकी गिनती एक एक आदमी को शुमार करके अठतीस हज़ार थी।
4 Of these, twenty-four thousand [are] to preside over the work of the house of YHWH, and six thousand officers and judges,
इनमें से चौबीस हज़ार ख़ुदावन्द के घर के काम की निगरानी पर मुक़र्रर हुए, और छ: हज़ार सरदार और मुन्सिफ़ थे,
5 and four thousand gatekeepers, and four thousand giving praise to YHWH, “with instruments that I made for praising,” [says David.]
और चार हज़ार दरबान थे, और चार हज़ार उन साज़ों से ख़ुदावन्द की ता'रीफ़ करते थे जिनको मैंने या'नी दाऊद ने ता'रीफ़ और बड़ाई के लिए बनाया था
6 And David distributes them into divisions of the sons of Levi—of Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
और दाऊद ने उनको जैरसोन, क़िहात और मिरारी नाम बनी लावी के फ़रीक़ों में तक़्सीम किया।
7 Of the Gershonite: Laadan and Shimei.
जैरसोनियों में से यह थे: ला'दान और सिम'ई।
8 Sons of Laadan: the head [is] Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel—three.
ला'दान के बेटे: सरदार यहीएल और जैताम और यूएल, यह तीन थे।
9 Sons of Shimei: Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran—three; these [are] heads of the fathers of Laadan.
सिम'ई के बेटे: सलूमियत और हज़ीएल और हारान, यह तीन थे। यह ला'दान के आबाई ख़ान्दानों के सरदार थे।
10 And sons of Shimei: Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah; these [are] the four sons of Shimei.
और सिम'ई के बेटे यहत, ज़ीना और य'ऊस और बरी'आ, यह चारों सिम'ई के बेटे थे।
11 And Jahath is the head, and Zizah the second, and Jeush and Beriah have not multiplied sons, and they become the house of a father by one numbering.
पहला यहत था, और ज़ीज़ा दूसरा, और य'ऊस और बरी'आ के बेटे बहुत न थे, इस वजह से वह एक ही आबाई ख़ान्दान में गिने गए।
12 Sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel—four.
क़िहात के बेटे: 'अमराम, इज़हार, हबरून और 'उज़्ज़ीएल, यह चार थे।
13 Sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses; and Aaron is separated for his sanctifying the Holy of Holies, he and his sons, for all time, to make incense before YHWH, to serve Him, and to bless in His Name for all time.
अमराम के बेटे: हारून और मूसा थे। हारून अलग किया गया, ताकि वह और उसके बेटे हमेशा पाकतरीन चीज़ों की पाक किया करें, और हमेशा ख़ुदावन्द के आगे ख़ुशबू जलाएँ और उसकी ख़िदमत करें, और उसका नाम लेकर बरकत दें।
14 As for Moses, the man of God, his sons are called after the tribe of Levi.
रहा मर्द — ए — ख़ुदा मूसा, इसलिए उसके बेटे लावी के क़बीले में गिने गए।
15 Sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer.
मूसा के बेटे: जैरसोम और इली'एलियाज़र थे।
16 Sons of Gershom: Shebuel the head.
और जैरसोम का बेटा सबुएल सरदार था,
17 And sons of Eliezer are Rehabiah the head, and Eliezer had no other sons, and the sons of Rehabiah have multiplied exceedingly.
और इली'एलियाज़र का बेटा रहबियाह सरदार था; और इली'एलियाज़र के और बेटे न थे, लेकिन रहबियाह के बहुत से बेटे थे।
18 Sons of Izhar: Shelomith the head.
इज़हार का बेटा सलूमीत सरदार था।
19 Sons of Hebron: Jeriah the head, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
हबरून के बेटों में पहला यरयाह, अमरियाह दूसरा, यहज़ीएल तीसरा, और यकीमि'आम चौथा था।
20 Sons of Uzziel: Micah the head, and Ishshiah the second.
उज़्ज़ीएल के बेटों में अव्वल मीकाह सरदार और यस्सियाह दूसरा था।
21 Sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi; sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.
मिरारी के बेटे: महली और मूशी। महली के बेटे: इली'एलियाज़र और क़ीस थे।
22 And Eleazar dies, and he had no sons, but daughters, and their brothers, sons of Kish, take them.
और इली'एलियाज़र मर गया और उसके कोई बेटा न था सिर्फ़ बेटियाँ थीं, और उनके भाई क़ीस के बेटों ने उनसे ब्याह किया।
23 Sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jerimoth—three.
मूशी के बेटे: महली और 'ऐदर और यरीमोत, येतीन थे।
24 These [are] sons of Levi, by the house of their fathers, heads of the fathers, by their appointments, in the number of names, by their counted heads, doing the work for the service of the house of YHWH, from a son of twenty years and upward,
लावी के बेटे यही थे, जो अपने अपने आबाई ख़ान्दान के मुताबिक़ थे। उनके आबाई ख़ान्दानों के सरदार जैसा वह नाम — ब — नाम एक एक करके गिने गए यही हैं। वह बीस बरस और उससे ऊपर की उम्र से ख़ुदावन्द के घर की ख़िदमत का काम करते थे।
25 for David said, “YHWH, God of Israel, has given rest to His people, and He dwells in Jerusalem for all time”;
क्यूँकि दाऊद ने कहा कि ख़ुदावन्द इस्राईल के ख़ुदा ने अपने लोगों को आराम दिया है, और वह हमेशा तक येरूशलेम में सुकूनत करेगा।
26 and also of the Levites, “None [are] to carry the Dwelling Place and all its vessels for its service”;
और लावियों को भी घर और उसकी ख़िदमत के सब बर्तनों को फिर कभी उठाना न पड़ेगा।
27 for by the last words of David they [took] the number of the sons of Levi from a son of twenty years and upward,
क्यूँकि दाऊद की पिछली बातों के मुताबिक़ बनी लावी जो बीस बरस और उससे ज़्यादा उम्र के थे, गिने गए।
28 for their station [is] at the side of the sons of Aaron, for the service of the house of YHWH, over the courts, and over the chambers, and over the cleansing of every holy thing, and the work of the service of the house of God,
क्यूँकि उनका काम यह था कि ख़ुदावन्द के घर की ख़िदमत के वक़्त, सहनों और कोठरियों में और सब मुक़द्दस चीज़ों के पाक करने में, या'नी ख़ुदा के घर की ख़िदमत के काम में, बनी हारून की मदद करें;
29 and for the bread of the arrangement, and for fine flour for present, and for the thin unleavened cakes, and for [the work of] the pan, and for that which is stirred, and for all [liquid] measure and [solid] measure;
और नज़्र की रोटी का, और मैदे की नज़्र की क़ुर्बानी का ख़्वाह वह बेख़मीरी रोटियों या तवे पर की पकी हुई चीज़ों या तली हुई चीज़ों की हो, और हर तरह के तौल और नाप का काम करें।
30 and to stand, morning by morning, to give thanks, and to give praise to YHWH, and so at evening;
और हर सुबह और शाम को खड़े होकर ख़ुदावन्द की शुक्रगुज़ारी और बड़ाई करें,
31 and for all the burnt-offerings—burnt-offerings to YHWH for Sabbaths, for new moons, and for appointed times, by number, according to the ordinance on them continually, before YHWH.
और सब्तों और नये चाँदों और मुक़र्ररा 'ईदों में, हमेशा ख़ुदावन्द के सामने पूरी ता'दाद में सब सोख़्तनी क़ुर्बानियाँ उस क़ाइदे के मुताबिक़ जो उनके बारे में है पेश करें।
32 And they have kept the charge of the Tent of Meeting, and the charge of the holy place, and the charge of their brothers, the sons of Aaron, for the service of the house of YHWH.
और ख़ुदावन्द के घर की ख़िदमत को अन्जाम देने के लिए ख़ेमा — ए — इजितमा'अ की हिफ़ाज़त और मक़दिस की निगरानी और अपने भाई बनी हारून की इता'अत करें।
