1 Chronicles 23
1 And David was old and satisfied with days, and he causes his son Solomon to reign over Israel,
தாவீது வயதுசென்று முதியவனானபோது, தனது மகன் சாலொமோனை இஸ்ரயேலுக்கு அரசனாக்கினான்.
2 and gathers all the heads of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites;
அதோடு இஸ்ரயேலரின் எல்லாத் தலைவர்களையும், ஆசாரியர்களையும், லேவியர்களையும் ஒன்றுகூட்டினான்.
3 and the Levites are numbered from a son of thirty years and upward, and their number, for their counted heads, is of thirty-eight thousand mighty men.
லேவியர்களுள் முப்பது வயதுமுதல் அதற்கு மேற்பட்டவர்கள் எண்ணப்பட்டபோது, அவர்களுடைய எண்ணிக்கை முப்பத்தெட்டாயிரமாயிருந்தது.
4 Of these, twenty-four thousand [are] to preside over the work of the house of YHWH, and six thousand officers and judges,
அப்பொழுது தாவீது, “இவர்களில் இருபத்து நாலாயிரம்பேர் யெகோவாவினுடைய ஆலயத்தின் வேலைகளை மேற்பார்வை செய்பவர்களாகவும், ஆறாயிரம்பேர் அதிகாரிகளாகவும் நீதிபதிகளாகவும் இருக்கட்டும்.
5 and four thousand gatekeepers, and four thousand giving praise to YHWH, “with instruments that I made for praising,” [says David.]
அதோடு நாலாயிரம்பேர் வாசல் காவலர்களாகவும், மற்ற நாலாயிரம்பேர் நான் யெகோவாவைத் துதிப்பதற்கென செய்துவைத்திருந்த இசைக்கருவிகளுடன் யெகோவாவைத் துதிக்கவும் வேண்டும்” என்றான்.
6 And David distributes them into divisions of the sons of Levi—of Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
பின்பு தாவீது லேவியர்களின் மகன்களான கெர்சோன், கோகாத், மெராரி என்பவர்களுடைய வகுப்புகளின்படி அவர்களைக் குழுக்களாகப் பிரித்தான்.
7 Of the Gershonite: Laadan and Shimei.
கெர்சோனியரில் லாதானும் சீமேயியும் இருந்தார்கள்.
8 Sons of Laadan: the head [is] Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel—three.
லாதானின் மகன்கள்: மூத்தவனான யெகியேல், சேத்தாம், யோயேல் ஆகிய மூன்றுபேர்.
9 Sons of Shimei: Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran—three; these [are] heads of the fathers of Laadan.
சீமேயியின் மகன்கள்: செலோமோத், ஆசியேல், ஆரான் ஆகிய மூன்றுபேர்; இவர்கள் லாதானின் குடும்பங்களில் தலைவர்களாய் இருந்தார்கள்.
10 And sons of Shimei: Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah; these [are] the four sons of Shimei.
சீமேயியின் மற்ற மகன்கள்: யாகாத், சீனா, எயூஷ், பெரீயா ஆகிய இவர்களும் சீமேயியின் நான்கு மகன்கள்.
11 And Jahath is the head, and Zizah the second, and Jeush and Beriah have not multiplied sons, and they become the house of a father by one numbering.
இவர்களில் யாகாத் மூத்தவன்; சீசா இரண்டாம் மகன். ஆனால் எயூஷூக்கும், பெரீயாவுக்கும் அதிக மகன்கள் இல்லாதபடியினால் அவர்கள் ஒரே முற்பிதாவின் குடும்பமாகக் கணக்கிடப்பட்டு, ஒரே பொறுப்புகளும் வழங்கப்பட்டன.
12 Sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel—four.
கோகாத்தின் மகன்கள்: அம்ராம், இத்சார், எப்ரோன், ஊசியேல் என்னும் நான்குபேர்.
13 Sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses; and Aaron is separated for his sanctifying the Holy of Holies, he and his sons, for all time, to make incense before YHWH, to serve Him, and to bless in His Name for all time.
அம்ராமின் மகன்கள்: ஆரோன், மோசே. ஆரோனும், அவனுடைய வழித்தோன்றல்களும் என்றென்றைக்கும் மகா பரிசுத்த இடத்தை தூய்மையாக வைத்திருப்பதற்கும், யெகோவாவுக்கு பலியிடுவதற்கும், அவருக்குப் பணிசெய்வதற்கும், அவருடைய பெயரில் ஆசீர்வதிப்பதற்குமென வேறுபிரிக்கப்பட்டனர்.
14 As for Moses, the man of God, his sons are called after the tribe of Levi.
இறைவனின் மனிதனாகிய மோசேயின் மகன்கள் லேவி கோத்திரத்தோடு சேர்த்துக் கணக்கிடப்பட்டனர்.
15 Sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer.
மோசேயின் மகன்கள்: கெர்சோம், எலியேசர்.
16 Sons of Gershom: Shebuel the head.
கெர்சோனின் சந்ததிகள்: செபுயேல் மூத்தவனாயிருந்தான்.
17 And sons of Eliezer are Rehabiah the head, and Eliezer had no other sons, and the sons of Rehabiah have multiplied exceedingly.
எலியேசரின் சந்ததிகள்: ரெகேபியா மூத்தவன். எலியேசருக்கு வேறு மகன்கள் இருக்கவில்லை. ஆனால் ரெகபியாவுக்கு அநேகம் மகன்கள் இருந்தனர்.
18 Sons of Izhar: Shelomith the head.
இத்சாரின் மகன்கள்: செலோமித் மூத்தவனாயிருந்தான்.
19 Sons of Hebron: Jeriah the head, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
எப்ரோனின் மகன்கள்: யெரியா மூத்தவன், இரண்டாவது அமரியா, மூன்றாவது யாகாசியேல், நான்காவது எக்காமியாம்.
20 Sons of Uzziel: Micah the head, and Ishshiah the second.
ஊசியேலின் மகன்கள்: மூத்த மகன் மீகா, இரண்டாவது மகன் இஷியா.
21 Sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi; sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.
மெராரியின் மகன்கள்: மகேலி, மூஷி. மகேலியின் மகன்கள்: எலெயாசார், கீஸ்.
22 And Eleazar dies, and he had no sons, but daughters, and their brothers, sons of Kish, take them.
எலெயாசாருக்கு மகன்கள் இல்லாமலே அவன் இறந்துபோனான். அவனுக்கு மகள்கள் மாத்திரமே இருந்தார்கள். அவர்களுடைய ஒன்றுவிட்ட சகோதரர்களான கீஸின் மகன்கள் அவர்களைத் திருமணம் செய்துகொண்டார்கள்.
23 Sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jerimoth—three.
மூஷியின் மகன்கள்: மகேலி, ஏதேர், எரேமோத்.
24 These [are] sons of Levi, by the house of their fathers, heads of the fathers, by their appointments, in the number of names, by their counted heads, doing the work for the service of the house of YHWH, from a son of twenty years and upward,
இவர்கள் குடும்பங்களின்படி பிரிக்கப்பட்ட லேவியின் சந்ததிகள். குடும்பத் தலைவர்கள் தனித்தனியே கணக்கிடப்பட்டு, குடும்பப் பட்டியலின்கீழ் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டார்கள். இருபது வயதும் அதற்கு மேற்பட்டவர்களுமான இவர்கள் யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்தில் பணிசெய்தனர்.
25 for David said, “YHWH, God of Israel, has given rest to His people, and He dwells in Jerusalem for all time”;
அப்பொழுது தாவீது, “இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா தனது மக்களுக்கு அமைதியைக் கொடுத்து எருசலேமில் என்றென்றைக்கும் வசிக்க வந்திருக்கிறார்.
26 and also of the Levites, “None [are] to carry the Dwelling Place and all its vessels for its service”;
ஆதலால் லேவியர்கள் இனிமேல் பரிசுத்த வழிபாட்டுக் கூடாரங்களையோ, அதன் பணிக்குப் பயன்படுத்தத் தேவையான பொருட்களையோ தூக்கிச் சுமக்க வேண்டியதில்லை” எனச் சொன்னான்.
27 for by the last words of David they [took] the number of the sons of Levi from a son of twenty years and upward,
தாவீதின் இறுதி அறிவுறுத்தலின்படி கணக்கிடப்பட்ட லேவியர் இருபது வயதும் அதற்கு மேற்பட்டவர்களுமே.
28 for their station [is] at the side of the sons of Aaron, for the service of the house of YHWH, over the courts, and over the chambers, and over the cleansing of every holy thing, and the work of the service of the house of God,
யெகோவாவின் பரிசுத்த ஆலயத்தில் பணிசெய்யும் ஆரோனின் சந்ததிகளுக்கு உதவி செய்வதே, லேவியர்களாகிய இவர்களின் கடமையாயிருந்தது. அவையாவன: வெளிமுற்றத்திற்கும், அருகிலுள்ள அறைகளுக்கும் பொறுப்பாயிருத்தல், இறைவனுடைய ஆலயத்தில் பரிசுத்த பொருட்களை சுத்திகரிப்பதற்கும், மற்றும் அங்கு செய்யவேண்டிய எல்லா வேலைகளையும் செய்வதற்கும் பொறுப்பாயிருத்தல்,
29 and for the bread of the arrangement, and for fine flour for present, and for the thin unleavened cakes, and for [the work of] the pan, and for that which is stirred, and for all [liquid] measure and [solid] measure;
அதோடு மேஜையில் வைக்கும் அப்பங்கள், தானிய காணிக்கைக்குத் தேவையான மிருதுவான மாவு, புளிப்பற்ற அப்பங்கள் ஆகியவற்றைப் பிசையவும், சுடவும், நிறுக்கவும், அத்துடன் அதன் தொகையையும், பருமனையும் கவனிப்பதற்கும் பொறுப்பாயிருத்தல்.
30 and to stand, morning by morning, to give thanks, and to give praise to YHWH, and so at evening;
அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருநாள் காலையிலும் யெகோவாவுக்கு நன்றிகூறி துதிக்கவேண்டும். அப்படியே மாலையிலும் செய்யவேண்டும்.
31 and for all the burnt-offerings—burnt-offerings to YHWH for Sabbaths, for new moons, and for appointed times, by number, according to the ordinance on them continually, before YHWH.
அத்துடன் ஓய்வுநாட்களிலும், அமாவாசை நாட்களிலும் குறிப்பிட்ட பண்டிகை நாட்களிலும் யெகோவாவுக்குத் தகன காணிக்கைகளைச் செலுத்தும் போதெல்லாம் அவ்வாறே துதிக்கவேண்டும். அவர்கள் யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்குறிப்பிட்ட எண்ணிக்கையின்படியும், கட்டளைப்படியும் ஒழுங்காக பணிசெய்ய வேண்டும்.
32 And they have kept the charge of the Tent of Meeting, and the charge of the holy place, and the charge of their brothers, the sons of Aaron, for the service of the house of YHWH.
எனவே லேவியரான இவர்கள் ஆரோனின் சந்ததிகளான தங்கள் சகோதரர்களின் தலைமையின்கீழ், யெகோவாவின் ஆலயப் பணியில் நியமிக்கப்பட்ட ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்திற்கும், மகா பரிசுத்த இடத்திற்கும் பொறுப்புகளைச் செய்தார்கள்.
