1 Chronicles 20
1 And it comes to pass, at the time of the turn of the year—at the time of the going out of the messengers—that Joab leads out the force of the host, and destroys the land of the sons of Ammon, and comes in and besieges Rabbah—David is abiding in Jerusalem—and Joab strikes Rabbah, and breaks it down.
ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ବର୍ଷର ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ ସମୟରେ ରାଜାମାନେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧକୁ ଯିବା ବେଳେ, ଯୋୟାବ ସୈନ୍ୟଦଳ ନେଇ ଅମ୍ମୋନ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ଦେଶ ଉଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ କଲା ଓ ରବ୍ବାକୁ ଯାଇ ତାହା ଅବରୋଧ କଲା। ମାତ୍ର, ଦାଉଦ ଯିରୂଶାଲମରେ ରହିଲେ। ଏଥିମଧ୍ୟରେ ଯୋୟାବ ରବ୍ବାକୁ ଆଘାତ କରି ଭୂମିସାତ୍ କଲା।
2 And David takes the crown of their king from off his head, and finds it [to be] a talent of gold [in] weight, and [with] precious stone in it, and it is on the head of David; and he has brought out very much spoil of the city,
ପୁଣି, ଦାଉଦ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ରାଜାର ମସ୍ତକରୁ ମୁକୁଟ କାଢ଼ି ନେଲେ, ଆଉ ଦେଖିଲେ ଯେ, ତାହା ଏକ ତାଳନ୍ତ ପରିମିତ ସ୍ୱର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଓ ତହିଁରେ ବହୁମୂଲ୍ୟ ପ୍ରସ୍ତରମାନ ଥିଲା। ପୁଣି, ତାହା ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ମସ୍ତକରେ ଦିଆଗଲା; ଆଉ ସେ ସେହି ନଗରର ପ୍ରଚୁର ଲୁଟଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ବାହାର କରି ଆଣିଲେ।
3 and he has brought out the people who [are] in it, and sets [them] to the saw, and to cutting instruments of iron, and to axes; and thus David does to all cities of the sons of Ammon, and David turns back—and all the people—to Jerusalem.
ଆହୁରି, ସେ ତନ୍ମଧ୍ୟବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ବାହାର କରି ଆଣି କରତ ଓ ଲୁହାର ମଇ ଓ କୁହ୍ରାଡ଼ି ଦ୍ୱାରା ଛେଦନ କଲେ। ଏହି ପ୍ରକାରେ ଦାଉଦ ଅମ୍ମୋନ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ସମୁଦାୟ ନଗର ପ୍ରତି କଲେ। ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଦାଉଦ ଓ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ଯିରୂଶାଲମକୁ ଫେରି ଆସିଲେ।
4 And it comes to pass after this, that war remains in Gezer with the Philistines; then Sibbechai the Hushathite has struck Sippai, of the children of the giant, and they are humbled.
ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଗେଷରରେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ଲାଗିଲା; ତହିଁରେ ହୂଶାତୀୟ ସିବ୍ବଖୟ ଦୀର୍ଘକାୟ ବଂଶଜାତ ସିପ୍ପୀକୁ ବଧ କଲା, ଯେ ରଫାୟୀମର ଏକ ବଂଶଜ ଥିଲା ପୁଣି ସେମାନେ ପରାସ୍ତ ହେଲେ।
5 And there is war with the Philistines again, and Elhanan son of Jair strikes Lahmi, brother of Goliath the Gittite, the wood of whose spear [is] like a weavers’ beam.
ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ପୁନର୍ବାର ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ହେଲା, ତହିଁରେ ଯାୟୀରର ପୁତ୍ର ଇଲ୍ହାନନ୍ ତନ୍ତୀର ନରାଜ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ବର୍ଚ୍ଛାଧାରୀ ଗାଥୀୟ ଗଲୀୟାତର ଭ୍ରାତା ଲହମିକୁ ବଧ କଲା।
6 And there is war in Gath again, and there is a man of [great] measure, and his fingers and his toes [are] six and six—twenty-four [total], and he has also been born to the giant.
ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଗାଥ୍ ନଗରରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ହେଲା, ସେଠାରେ ଅତି ଦୀର୍ଘକାୟ; ପୁଣି, ପ୍ରତି ହସ୍ତ ଓ ପାଦରେ ଛଅ ଛଅ ଅଙ୍ଗୁଳି, ସର୍ବସୁଦ୍ଧା ଚବିଶ ଅଙ୍ଗୁଳିବିଶିଷ୍ଟ ଏକ ଜଣ ଥିଲା; ସେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଦୀର୍ଘକାୟ ବଂଶଜାତ।
7 And he reproaches Israel, and Jonathan son of Shimea, brother of David, strikes him.
ପୁଣି, ସେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲକୁ ତୁଚ୍ଛ କରନ୍ତେ, ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ଭ୍ରାତା ଶିମୀୟର ପୁତ୍ର ଯୋନାଥନ ତାହାକୁ ବଧ କଲା।
8 These were born to the giant in Gath, and they fall by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
ଏମାନେ ଗାଥ୍ ନଗରରେ ଦୀର୍ଘକାୟ ବଂଶରେ ଜନ୍ମିଥିଲେ; ଏମାନେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରେ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ଦାସମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରେ ବଧ ହେଲେ।
