< 1 Chronicles 14 >
1 And Huram king of Tyre sends messengers to David, and cedar-wood, and craftsmen of walls, and craftsmen of wood, to build a house for him.
Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David with cedar trees, masons, and carpenters, to build him a house.
2 And David knows that YHWH has established him for king over Israel, because of the lifting up on high of his kingdom, for the sake of His people Israel.
David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, for his kingdom was highly exalted, for his people Israel’s sake.
3 And David takes wives again in Jerusalem, and David begets sons and daughters again;
David took more wives in Jerusalem, and David became the father of more sons and daughters.
4 and these [are] the names of the children whom he has in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,

5 and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,

6 and Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

8 And the Philistines hear that David has been anointed for king over all Israel, and all the Philistines go up to seek David, and David hears, and goes out before them.
When the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went out against them.
9 And the Philistines have come, and rush into the Valley of Rephaim,
Now the Philistines had come and made a raid in the valley of Rephaim.
10 and David asks of God, saying, “Do I go up against the Philistines—and have You given them into my hand?” And YHWH says to him, “Go up, and I have given them into your hand.”
David inquired of God, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand?” The LORD said to him, “Go up; for I will deliver them into your hand.”
11 And they go up into Ba‘al-Perazim, and David strikes them there, and David says, “God has broken up my enemies by my hand, like the breaking up of waters”; therefore they have called the name of that place Ba‘al-Perazim.
So they came up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there. David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like waters breaking out. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim.
12 And they leave their gods there, and David commands, and they are burned with fire.
They left their gods there; and David gave a command, and they were burned with fire.
13 And the Philistines add again, and rush into the valley,
The Philistines made another raid in the valley.
14 and David asks again of God, and God says to him, “Do not go up after them, turn around from them, and you have come to them from the front [[or in front]] of the mulberries;
David inquired again of God; and God said to him, “You shall not go up after them. Turn away from them, and come on them opposite the mulberry trees.
15 and it comes to pass, when you hear the sound of the stepping at the heads of the mulberries, then you go out into battle, for God has gone out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.”
When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then go out to battle; for God has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.”
16 And David does as God commanded him, and they strike the camp of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer;
David did as God commanded him; and they attacked the army of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gezer.
17 and the name of David goes out into all the lands, and YHWH has put his fear on all the nations.
The fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him on all nations.
