1 Chronicles 10
1 And the Philistines have fought with Israel, and the men of Israel flee from the face of the Philistines, and fall wounded in Mount Gilboa,
Los filisteos peleaban contra Israel; y los hombres de Israel huyeron ante los filisteos, cayendo heridos en el monte Gilboa.
2 and the Philistines pursue after Saul, and after his sons, and the Philistines strike Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchi-Shua, sons of Saul.
Y los filisteos siguieron muy de cerca a Saúl y sus hijos, y mataron a Jonatán, Abinadab, Malquisua, los hijos de Saúl.
3 And the battle [is] heavy on Saul, and those shooting with the bow find him, and he is wounded by those shooting,
Y la lucha iba contra Saúl, y los arqueros se cruzaron con él, y fue herido por los arqueros.
4 and Saul says to the bearer of his weapons, “Draw your sword and pierce me with it, lest these uncircumcised come and have abused me.” And the bearer of his weapons has not been willing, for he fears exceedingly, and Saul takes the sword, and falls on it;
Entonces Saúl dijo a su escudero de armas: Toma tu espada y pásala a través de mí, antes de que estos hombres sin circuncisión vengan y se burlen de mí. Pero su sirviente, lleno de miedo, no lo haría. Entonces Saúl sacó su espada, cayó sobre ella.
5 and the bearer of his weapons sees that Saul [is] dead, and falls, he also, on the sword, and dies;
Y cuando su siervo vio que Saúl estaba muerto, hizo lo mismo, y murió.
6 and Saul dies, and his three sons, and all his house—they died together.
Entonces la muerte alcanzó a Saúl y sus tres hijos; Toda su familia llegó a su fin juntos.
7 And all the men of Israel who [are] in the valley see that they have fled and that Saul and his sons have died, and they forsake their cities and flee, and the Philistines come and dwell in them.
Y cuando todos los hombres de Israel que estaban en el valle vieron que los hombres de Israel habían huido y que Saúl y sus hijos habían muerto, salieron huyendo de sus pueblos; Y vinieron los filisteos y los tomaron para sí mismos y habitaron allí.
8 And it comes to pass, on the next day, that the Philistines come to strip the wounded, and find Saul and his sons fallen in Mount Gilboa,
Al día siguiente, cuando los filisteos vinieron a sacar sus bienes de los muertos, vieron a Saúl y sus hijos muertos en el monte Gilboa.
9 and strip him, and carry away his head and his weapons, and send [them] into the land of the surrounding Philistines to proclaim tidings [to] their idols and the people;
Y se lo quitaron todo, y tomaron su cabeza y sus ropas de guerra, y enviaron un mensaje a la tierra de los filisteos para darles la noticia a sus dioses y al pueblo.
10 and they put his weapons in the house of their gods, and have fixed his skull in the house of Dagon.
Y pusieron sus ropas de guerra en la casa de sus dioses, y pusieron su cabeza en el templo de Dagón.
11 And all Jabesh-Gilead hears of all that the Philistines have done to Saul,
Y cuando llegaron las noticias a Jabes de Gala, de lo que los filisteos le habían hecho a Saúl,
12 and all the men of valor rise and carry away the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and bring them to Jabesh, and bury their bones under the oak in Jabesh, and fast seven days.
Todos los combatientes se acercaron y se llevaron el cuerpo de Saúl y los cuerpos de sus hijos, y los llevaron a Jabes, y enterraron sus huesos debajo del roble en Jabes, y estuvieron en ayuno por siete días.
13 And Saul dies because of his trespass that he trespassed against YHWH, against the word of YHWH that he did not keep, and also for asking to inquire of a familiar spirit;
Entonces vino a Saúl la muerte por el pecado que hizo contra el Señor, es decir, por la palabra del Señor que no guardó; y porque fue en dirección de una adivina,
14 and he did not inquire of YHWH, and He puts him to death, and turns around the kingdom to David son of Jesse.
Y no al Señor, por esta razón, lo mató y le dio el reino a David, el hijo de Isaí.
