Zephaniah 3
1 Woe to her that is rebellious and polluted, to the oppressing city!
Ai dela que é rebelde e poluída, a cidade opressora!
2 She hearkened not to any voice; she accepted no correction; in the Lord she did not trust; to her God she drew not near.
Ela não obedeceu à voz. Ela não recebeu correção. Ela não confiava em Yahweh. Ela não se aproximou de seu Deus.
3 Her princes in her midst are roaring lions: her judges are evening wolves, they leave not a bone for the morning.
Seus príncipes dentro dela são leões rugindo. Seus juízes são lobos noturnos. Eles não deixam nada até o dia seguinte.
4 Her prophets are thoughtless men of treachery: her priests have profaned the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.
Seus profetas são pessoas arrogantes e traiçoeiras. Seus sacerdotes profanaram o santuário. Eles fizeram violência à lei.
5 The just Lord is in her midst, he will not do wrong; morning after morning doth he bring his justice to the light [of day], it never faileth; but the unjust knoweth no shame.
Yahweh, dentro dela, é justa. Ele não fará nada de errado. Todas as manhãs, ele traz à luz sua justiça. Ele não falha, mas os injustos não têm vergonha.
6 I have cut off nations; destroyed are their battlements; I have laid in ruins their streets, so that none passeth through; their cities are wasted, without a man, without an inhabitant.
Cortei nações. Suas ameias estão desoladas. Fiz de suas ruas um desperdício, para que ninguém passasse por elas. Suas cidades são destruídas, para que não haja homem, para que não haja habitante.
7 I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt accept correction; so that her dwelling should not be cut off, all that I had decreed to bring over her; but they rose up early, they acted corruptly in all their doings.
Eu disse: “Só me temam”. Receba a correção”, para que sua moradia não seja cortada, de acordo com tudo o que eu designei em relação a ela. Mas eles se levantaram cedo e corromperam todos os seus atos.
8 Therefore wait but for me, saith the Lord, for the day that I rise up to the prey; for my judgment [cometh] to gather the nations, for me to assemble the kingdoms, to pour over them my indignation, all the fierceness of my anger; for through the fire of my jealousy shall all the earth be devoured.
“Portanto, espera por mim”, diz Javé, “até o dia em que eu me levante para a presa, pois minha determinação é reunir as nações, para que eu possa reunir os reinos para derramar sobre elas minha indignação, até mesmo toda a minha raiva feroz, pois toda a terra será devorada com o fogo do meu ciúme”.
9 Yea then will I change unto the people a pure language, that they may all call on the name of the Lord, to serve him with one accord.
Pois então eu purificarei os lábios dos povos, para que todos possam invocar o nome de Javé, para servi-lo ombro a ombro.
10 From beyond the rivers of Cush shall they bring my suppliants, even the assembly of my dispersed, as an offering unto me.
Para além dos rios de Cush, meus adoradores, mesmo a filha de meu povo disperso, trarão minha oferenda.
11 On that day shalt thou not be ashamed because of all thy doings, whereby thou hast transgressed against me; for then will I remove out of the midst of thee those that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt never more be haughty again on my holy mount.
Nesse dia vocês não ficarão desapontados por todos os seus atos em que transgrediram contra mim; pois então eu tirarei dentre vocês seus orgulhosamente exultantes, e vocês não serão mais arrogantes em minha montanha sagrada.
12 And I will leave remaining in the midst of thee a humble and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the Lord.
Mas deixarei entre vós um povo aflito e pobre, e eles se refugiarão em nome de Iavé.
13 The remnant of Israel shall not do injustice, nor speak lies; and there shall not be found in their mouth a deceitful tongue; for they shall feed and lie down, with none to make them afraid.
O remanescente de Israel não fará iniqüidade nem falará mentiras, nem se encontrará uma língua enganosa em sua boca, pois eles se alimentarão e se deitarão, e ninguém os amedrontará”.
14 Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; rejoice and be glad with all thy heart, O daughter of Jerusalem!
Canta, filha de Zion! Grita, Israel! Alegre-se e alegre-se com todo o seu coração, filha de Jerusalém.
15 The Lord hath removed thy punishment, he hath cleared away thy enemy: the king of Israel, the Lord, is in the midst of thee; thou shalt not see evil any more.
Yahweh tirou seus julgamentos. Ele expulsou seu inimigo. O Rei de Israel, Javé, está entre vocês. Você não terá mais medo do mal.
16 On that day shall it be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: [to] Zion, Let not thy hands become weak.
Naquele dia, será dito a Jerusalém: “Não tenha medo, Sião”. Não deixe que suas mãos sejam fracas”.
17 The Lord thy God is in the midst of thee, the mighty one who will save; he will be glad over thee with rejoicing; he will be silent in his love, he will exult over thee with song.
Yahweh, seu Deus, está entre vocês, um poderoso que salvará. Ele se regozijará com alegria sobre vocês. Ele vai te acalmar em seu amor. Ele se regozijará por você com o canto.
18 Those that mourn far away from the festive assembly do I gather, those that were separated from thee, [that have borne] for thee the burden of reproach.
Eu afastarei de vocês aqueles que se lamentam por causa das festas designadas. Eles são um fardo e uma reprovação para você.
19 Behold, I will deal [severely] with all that afflict thee at that time: and I will save her that halteth, and her that was driven off will I gather; and I will render them a praise and a famous name on all the earth where they have been put to shame.
Eis que nessa ocasião tratarei com todos aqueles que vos afligem; e salvarei aqueles que são coxos e recolherei aqueles que foram expulsos. Dar-lhes-ei louvor e honra, cuja vergonha tem estado em toda a terra.
20 At that time will I bring you back, even in the time that I gather you; for I will make you for a name and for a praise among all people of the earth, when I bring back again your captives before your eyes, saith the Lord.
Naquele tempo, eu os trarei, e naquele tempo os reunirei; pois lhes darei honra e louvor entre todos os povos da terra quando eu restaurar sua fortuna diante de seus olhos, diz Javé.
