Zechariah 9

1 The prophecy of the word of the Lord concerning the land of Chadrach, and Damascus his resting-place; for unto the Lord [will look] the eye of men, and [that of] all the tribes of Israel;

एक भविष्यवाणी: हद्राख देश के विरुद्ध में याहवेह का यह वचन है और इसका प्रभाव दमेशेक पर पड़ेगा— क्योंकि सारे लोगों और इस्राएल के सारे गोत्रों की दृष्टि याहवेह पर लगी है—

2 And also concerning Chamath that is bordering thereon, Tyre, and Zidon, though it be very wise.

और इसकी सीमा से लगे देश हामाथ पर लगी है, और सोर और सीदोन पर भी लगी है, यद्यपि वे बहुत कुशल हैं.

3 And though Tyre have built herself a strong-hold, and heaped up silver as the dust, and fine gold as the mire of the streets:

सोर ने अपने लिए एक दृढ़ गढ़ बनाया है; उसने चांदी को धूल के समान, और सोना को गली के कीचड़ के समान बटोर रखा है.

4 Behold, the Lord will drive her out, and he will strike down her power into the sea; and she herself shall be devoured with fire.

पर प्रभु उसकी सब चीज़ों को ले लेगा और उसकी शक्ति को समुद्र में डाल देगा, और वह आग में जलकर नष्ट हो जाएगी.

5 Ashkelon shall see it, and fear; Gazzah also, and tremble greatly: and 'Ekron, for her trust will be made ashamed: and the king shall vanish from Gazzah, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited.

अश्कलोन यह देखकर भयभीत होगा; अज्जाह अति कष्ट में छटपटाएगा, और यही स्थिति एक्रोन की भी होगी, क्योंकि उसकी आशा जाती रहेगी. अज्जाह में राजा न रह जाएगा और अश्कलोन को त्याग दिया जाएगा.

6 And aliens shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.

एक दोगली जाति के लोग अशदोद पर अधिकार कर लेंगे, और मैं फिलिस्तीनियों के घमंड को तोड़ दूंगा.

7 And I will remove their bloody [-sacrifices] out of their mouth, and their abominations from between their teeth; and their land also shall be left for our God, and it shall be as a prince's [dwelling] in Judah, and 'Ekron shall be like Jebusi.

मैं उनके मुंह में से रक्त, और उनके दांतों के बीच से निषेध किए गये भोजन को छीन लूंगा. तब वे जो बच जाएंगे, वे हमारे परमेश्वर के हो जाएंगे और यहूदिया में एक गोत्र बन जाएंगे, और एक्रोन यबूसियों के समान हो जाएगा.

8 And I will encamp about my house against armies, against those that pass to and fro, and there shall not pass over them any more an oppressor; for now do I look [on them] with my eyes.

पर मैं अपने मंदिर को लुटेरों से बचाने के लिये उसकी पहरेदारी हेतु पड़ाव डालूंगा. कोई भी अत्याचारी फिर कभी मेरे लोगों पर अधिकार करने न पाएगा, क्योंकि अब मैं पहरेदारी कर रहा हूं.

9 Be greatly glad, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! behold, thy King will come unto thee, righteous and victorious is he, lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of a she-ass.

हे बेटी ज़ियोन, अति आनंदित हो! हे बेटी येरूशलेम, जय जयकार करो! देखो, तुम्हारा राजा तुम्हारे पास आ रहा है, वह धर्मी और विजयी होकर आता है, वह विनम्र और एक गधे पर, एक बछड़े पर, एक गधी के बच्‍चे पर सवार है.

10 And I will cut off chariots from Ephraim, and horses from Jerusalem, and there shall be cut off the battle-bow, and he shall speak peace unto the nations; and his dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth.

मैं एफ्राईम से रथों को और येरूशलेम से युद्ध के घोड़ों को ले लूंगा, और युद्ध के धनुष तोड़ दिये जाएंगे. तब वह जाति-जाति के लोगों के बीच शांति की घोषणा करेगा. उसका साम्राज्य एक समुद्र से लेकर दूसरे समुद्र तक और नदी से लेकर पृथ्वी के छोर तक फैलेगा.

11 As for thee also, because of the blood of thy covenant, do I send forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein there is no water.

जहां तक तुम्हारा संबंध है, तुम्हारे साथ मेरी वाचा के लहू के कारण, मैं तुम्हारे कैदियों को उस जलहीन गड्ढे से बाहर निकाल लूंगा.

12 Return you to the strong-hold, ye hopeful prisoners: even today do I declare, that I will recompense twofold [good] unto thee.

हे आशा लिये हुए कैदियों, अपने गढ़ में लौट आओ; आज मैं घोषणा करता हूं कि मैं तुम्हें उसका दो गुणा लौटा दूंगा.

13 For I do bend Judah for me, grasp Ephraim [as] a bow; and I will stir up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Javan, and I will render thee as the sword of a mighty man.

मैं यहूदिया को अपने धनुष के सदृश झुकाऊंगा और एफ्राईम से इसे भर दूंगा. हे ज़ियोन, मैं तुम्हारे बेटों को यावन के बेटों के विरुद्ध उत्तेजित करूंगा, और तुम्हें योद्धा की तलवार के समान कर दूंगा.

14 And the Lord will appear over them, and then will go forth like the lightning his arrow: and the Lord Eternal will blow on the cornet, and he will go along in the tempests of the south.

तब याहवेह उन पर प्रकट होगा; और उसके तीर बिजली के समान चमकेंगे. परम याहवेह तुरही फूंकेंगे; वे दक्षिण से उठे आंधी से होकर चलेंगे,

15 The Lord of hosts will be a shield over them; and they shall devour [the prey], and subdue the sling-stones; and they shall drink, make a noise as one [drunken with] wine; and they shall be filled like the offering-bowls, like the corners of the altar.

और सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह उनकी रक्षा करेंगे. वे नष्ट कर देंगे और गोफन के पत्थरों के द्वारा उन पर जयवंत होंगे. वे पिएंगे और ऐसा कोलाहल करेंगे जैसे लोग दाखमधु पीकर करते हैं; वे उस कटोरे के समान भर जाएंगे जिसका उपयोग वेदी के कोनों को छिड़कने के लिये किया जाता है.

16 And the Lord their God will save them on that day as the flock of his people; for [like] the stones of a crown, will they elevate themselves over his land.

जैसे कि एक चरवाहा अपने झुंड की रक्षा करता है वैसे ही उनका परमेश्वर याहवेह उस दिन अपने लोगों की रक्षा करेगा. वे उसके देश में ऐसे चमकेंगे जैसे मुकुट में जड़े हुए रत्न चमकते हैं.

17 For how great will be [that generation's] happiness, and how great its beauty! corn shall make the young men sing joyfully, and new wine the virgins.

कितने आकर्षक और सुंदर होंगे वे! जवान अन्‍न खाकर, और जवान युवतियां नयी अंगूर की दाखमधु पीकर हृष्ट-पुष्ट हो जाएंगी.
