Zechariah 7
1 And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius that the word of the Lord came unto Zechariah on the fourth day of the ninth month, in Kislev;
Aconteceu pois, no ano quarto do rei Dario, que a palavra do Senhor veio a Zacarias, no dia quarto do nono mes, que é chisleu.
2 When they had sent unto Beth-el Sherezer and Regem-melech, and his men, to make entreaty before the Lord.
Quando foram enviados à casa de Deus, Saresar, e Regemmelech, e os homens dele, para suplicarem o rosto do Senhor,
3 [And] to say unto the priests who were in the house of the Lord of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Shall I weep in the fifth month with abstinence, as I have done already these many years?
Dizendo aos sacerdotes, que estavam na casa do Senhor dos exércitos, e aos profetas: Chorarei eu no quinto mes, separando-me, como o tenho feito por tantos anos?
4 Then came the word of the Lord of hosts unto me, saying,
Então a palavra do Senhor dos exércitos veio a mim, dizendo:
5 Say unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, as followeth, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and in the seventh [month], already these seventy years, did ye in anywise fast for me, yea, for me?
Fala a todo o povo desta terra, o aos sacerdotes, dizendo: Quando jejuastes, e pranteastes, no quinto e no sétimo mes, a saber, estes setenta anos, porventura, jejuando, jejuastes para mim, para mim, digo?
6 And if ye do eat, and if ye do drink, are ye not yourselves those that eat, and yourselves those that drink?
Ou quando comestes, e quando bebestes, não fostes vós os que comieis e vós os que bebieis?
7 Are not these the words which the Lord hath proclaimed by means of the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, with her cities round about her, when [men] inhabited the south, and the lowlands?
Não são estas as palavras que o Senhor pregou pelo ministério dos profetas primeiros, quando Jerusalém estava habitada e quieta, com as suas cidades ao redor dela? e o sul e a campina eram habitados?
8 And the word of the Lord came unto Zechariah, saying,
E a palavra do Senhor veio a Zacarias, dizendo:
9 Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, saying, Execute true justice, and show kindness and mercy every man to his brother;
Assim falou o Senhor dos exércitos, dizendo: julgai juízo verdadeiro, executai piedade e misericórdias cada um com seu irmão;
10 And defraud not the widow, or the fatherless, the stranger, or the poor; and imagine not evil in your heart one against the other.
E não oprimais a viúva, nem o órfão, nem o estrangeiro, nem o pobre, nem intente o mal cada um contra o seu irmão no seu coração.
11 But they refused to listen, and turned away rebelliously the shoulder, and stopped their ears, so as not to hear;
Porém não quizeram escutar, e me deram o ombro rebelde, e ensurdeceram os seus ouvidos, para que não ouvissem.
12 And their heart they rendered as an adamant, so as not to hear the law, and the words which the Lord of hosts had sent through his spirit, by means of the former prophets: wherefore came a great anger from the Lord of hosts.
E fizeram o seu coração como diamante, para que não ouvissem a lei, nem as palavras que o Senhor dos exércitos enviava pelo seu espírito pelo ministério dos profetas primeiros: de onde veio a grande ira do Senhor dos exércitos.
13 And it is come to pass, that as he proclaimed, and they would not hear: so had they to call, and I would not hear, saith the Lord of hosts;
E aconteceu que, como ele clamou, e eles não ouviram, assim também eles clamaram, mas eu não ouvi, diz o Senhor dos exércitos.
14 And I resolved to scatter them with a storm-wind among all the nations that they had not known; and the land was left desolate after them, without any one to pass through it forward or backward; and the pleasant land have they changed into a desert.
E os espalhei com tempestade entre todas as nações, que eles não conheciam, e a terra foi assolada atráz deles, de sorte que ninguém passava por ela, nem se tornava: porque tem feito da terra desejada uma desolação.
