Zechariah 1
1 In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord unto Zechariah, the son of Berechyah, the son of 'Iddo the prophet, saying,
राजा दारयावेश के शासनकाल के दूसरे साल के आठवें महीने में याहवेह का यह वचन बेरेखियाह के पुत्र और इद्दो के पोते ज़करयाह भविष्यवक्ता के पास आया:
2 The Lord hath been greatly angry with your fathers.
“याहवेह तुम्हारे पूर्वजों से बहुत क्रोधित थे.
3 And [now] say thou unto them, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Return ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will return unto you: so hath said the Lord of hosts.
इसलिये लोगों को बताओ: सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह का यह कहना है: ‘मेरे पास लौट आओ,’ सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह की यह घोषणा है, ‘तो मैं भी तुम्हारे पास लौट आऊंगा,’ सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह का कहना है.
4 Be ye not like your fathers, unto whom the former prophets proclaimed, saying, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Do return from your evil ways, and your evil doings; but they did not hear, nor listen unto me, saith the Lord.
अपने पूर्वजों के समान मत बनो, जिन्हें पहले के भविष्यवक्ताओं ने पुकार-पुकारकर कहा था: सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह का यह कहना है: ‘अपने बुरे चालचलन और अपने बुरे कार्यों को छोड़ो.’ किंतु उन्होंने न तो मेरी बातों को सुना और न ही मेरी ओर ध्यान दिया, याहवेह की घोषणा है.
5 Your fathers, —where are they! and the prophets, — could they live for ever!
तुम्हारे पूर्वज अब कहां हैं? और भविष्यवक्ता, भविष्यद्वक्ता, क्या वे सदाकाल तक जीवित हैं?
6 But my words and my decrees, which I commanded my servants the prophets, behold, they did overtake your fathers: and [then] they returned and said, Just as the Lord of hosts had purposed to do unto us, in accordance with our ways, and in accordance with our doings, so hath he dealt with us.
पर मेरे वचन और कानून, जो मैंने अपने सेवक भविष्यवक्ताओं को दिये थे, क्या वे तुम्हारे पूर्वजों की मृत्यु के बाद भी बने हुए नहीं हैं? “तब उन्होंने प्रायश्चित किया और कहा, ‘सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह ने ठीक वही किया है जैसा कि हमारे चालचलन और हमारे कर्मों के कारण हमारे साथ किया जाना चाहिये, जैसा कि उन्होंने करने की ठानी थी.’”
7 On the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month of Shebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord unto Zechariah, the son of Berechyahu, the son of 'Iddo the prophet, saying,
राजा दारयावेश के शासनकाल के दूसरे साल के ग्यारहवें महीने अर्थात् शबात महीने के चौबीसवें दिन याहवेह का यह वचन बेरेखियाह के पुत्र और इद्दो के पोते ज़करयाह भविष्यवक्ता के पास पहुंचा.
8 I saw this night, and behold there was a man riding upon a red horse, and he was standing among the myrtle-trees that were in the deep valley; and behind him were red, pale, and white horses.
रात के समय मैंने एक दर्शन में देखा कि मेरे सामने लाल घोड़े पर सवार एक व्यक्ति था. वह घाटी में मेंहदी के पेड़ों के बीच खड़ा था, और उसके पीछे लाल, भूरे और सफेद रंग के घोड़े थे.
9 And I said, What are these, O my lord? Then said unto me the angel that spoke with me, I will show thee what these are.
तब मैंने पूछा, “हे मेरे प्रभु, ये क्या हैं?” जो स्वर्गदूत मुझसे बात कर रहा था, उसने उत्तर दिया, “मैं तुम्हें दिखाऊंगा कि ये क्या हैं.”
10 And the man that stood among the myrtle-trees answered and said, These are those whom the Lord hath sent to traverse the earth.
तब जो व्यक्ति मेंहदी के पेड़ों के बीच खड़ा था, उसने कहा, “ये वे हैं जिन्हें याहवेह ने पूरे पृथ्वी पर भेजा है.”
11 And they answered the angel of the Lord that stood among the myrtle-trees, and said, We have traversed the earth, and, behold, all the earth is inhabited quietly, and is at rest.
और उन्होंने याहवेह के उस स्वर्गदूत को यह सूचित किया, जो मेंहदी के पेड़ों के बीच खड़ा था, “हम पूरी पृथ्वी में गये और देखा कि सारी पृथ्वी में चैन और शांति है.”
12 Then commenced the angel of the Lord, and said, O Lord of hosts, how long yet wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast been indignant these seventy years?
तब याहवेह के दूत ने कहा, “हे सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह, आप जो येरूशलेम तथा यहूदिया के शहरों पर पिछले सत्तर सालों से क्रोधित हैं, कब तक आप इन पर अपनी दया नहीं दिखाएंगे?”
13 And the Lord answered the angel that spoke with me with good words and comforting words.
तब याहवेह ने उस स्वर्गदूत से, जो मुझसे बात कर रहा था, दयालु और सांत्वनापूर्ण शब्द कहा.
14 And the angel that spoke with me said unto me, Proclaim thou, saying, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.
फिर वह स्वर्गदूत जो मुझसे बातें कर रहा था, उसने कहा, “इन बातों की घोषणा करो: सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह का यह कहना है: ‘येरूशलेम तथा ज़ियोन के प्रति मेरी बहुत जलन है,
15 And with a great anger will I be angry with the nations that are at ease; for I was but a little angry [with Zion], and they helped forward the mischief.
और मैं उन जनताओं से बहुत क्रोधित हूं जो आराम में हैं. पहले मैं सिर्फ थोड़ा क्रोधित था, किंतु उन्होंने खुद ही अपनी विपत्तियां बढ़ा ली हैं.’
16 Therefore thus hath said the Lord, I am returned to Jerusalem in mercy: my house shall be rebuilt in it, saith the Lord of hosts, and the measuring-line shall be stretched forth over Jerusalem.
“इसलिये याहवेह का यह कहना है: ‘मैं कृपा करने के लिये येरूशलेम लौटूंगा, और वहां मेरे भवन को फिर से बनाया जाएगा. और येरूशलेम के ऊपर नापने की लकीर खींची जाएगी,’ सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह की घोषणा है.
17 Proclaim yet [farther], saying, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, My cities shall again overflow with prosperity: and the Lord will again comfort Zion, and make choice again of Jerusalem.
“आगे और घोषणा करो: सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह का यह कहना है: ‘मेरे नगर फिर समृद्ध होंगे, और याहवेह फिर ज़ियोन को सांत्वना देंगे तथा येरूशलेम को अपना ठहराएंगे.’”
18 And I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, there were four horns.
फिर मैंने देखा, और वहां मेरे सामने चार सींग थे.
19 And I said unto the angel who spoke with me, What are these? And he said unto me, These are the horns that have dispersed Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
तो मैंने उस स्वर्गदूत, जो मुझसे बातें कर रहा था, उससे पूछा, “ये क्या हैं?” उसने मुझे उत्तर दिया, “ये वे सींग हैं जिन्होंने यहूदिया, इस्राएल और येरूशलेम को तितर-बितर कर दिया है.”
20 And the Lord showed me four carpenters.
फिर याहवेह ने मुझे चार शिल्पकार दिखाये.
21 Then said I, What are these coming to do? And he said as followeth, These are the horns that have dispersed Judah, to the extent that no man could lift up his head; but these are come to terrify them, to cast off the horns of the nations, that have been lifting up their horn over the land of Judah to disperse it.
मैंने पूछा, “ये क्या करने के लिये आये हैं?” उन्होंने उत्तर दिया, “ये वे सींग हैं जिन्होंने यहूदिया को तितर-बितर कर दिया है, ताकि कोई अपना सिर न उठा सके, पर ये शिल्पकार उन्हें भयभीत करने उन जनताओं के इन सीगों को काट डालने के लिये आए हैं जो यहूदिया देश के शत्रुओं को भयभीत कर देंगे और उन राष्ट्रों के सींग काट डालेंगे, जिन्होंने यहूदिया के लोगों को तितर-बितर करने के लिये आक्रमण किया है.”
