< Song of Solomon 3 >

1 On my couch during the nights I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
Ka hinglu kah a lungnah te khoyin ah ka thingkong dongah ka tlap. Anih te ka tlap dae amah ka hmuh moenih.
2 Oh, I must rise now, and go about in the city in the streets, and in the open places; I will seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
Ka thoo laeh vetih kho khopuei khui neh imdak ah khaw, toltung ah khaw ka hil mako. Ka hinglu loh a lungnah te ka tlap laeh mako. Anih te ka tlap dae amah ka hmuh moenih.

Khopuei te a hil tih aka tawt rhoek loh kai m'hmuh uh. Ka hinglu kah a lungnah te na hmuh uh nim?
4 Scarcely had I passed away from them, when I found him whom my soul loveth: I laid fast hold of him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her that had born me.
