Psalms 99

1 The Lord reigneth; people tremble: he sitteth enthroned over the cherubim; the earth is moved.

ای قومها بترسید، زیرا خداوند سلطنت می‌کند! ای تمام زمین بلرزید، زیرا خداوند بر تخت خود در میان کروبیان جلوس فرموده است!

2 The Lord is great in Zion; and he is exalted above all the people.

خداوند در اورشلیم جلوس فرموده و بر تمام قومها مسلط است.

3 They will give thanks to thy name, great, and terrible, [and] holy it is.

همهٔ مردم نام بزرگ او را گرامی بدارند، زیرا او مقدّس است.

4 And to the power of the king who loveth justice and righteousness hast thou truly executed in Jacob.

ای پادشاه مقتدر، تو انصاف را دوست داری. تو در اسرائیل عدالت و برابری را بنیاد نهاده‌ای.

5 Exalt ye the Lord our God, and bow yourselves down before his footstool: he is holy.—

خداوند، خدای ما را ستایش کنید و در پیشگاه او به خاک بیفتید زیرا او مقدّس است!

6 Moses and Aaron were among his priests, and Samuel among those that call on his name; they called on the Lord, and he answered them.

وقتی موسی و هارون و سموئیل، مردان خدا، از خداوند کمک خواستند، او درخواست ایشان را مستجاب فرمود.

7 In the pillar of cloud he used to speak unto them: they kept his testimonies, and the statutes which he had given unto them.

او از میان ستون ابر با آنان سخن گفت و آنان احکام و دستورهای او را اطاعت کردند.

8 O Lord, our God, thou didst answer them: thou wast a forgiving God unto them, yet also an avenger for their wrong doings.

ای خداوند، خدای ما، تو دعای قوم خود را مستجاب نمودی و به آنها نشان دادی که خدایی بخشنده هستی؛ اما در عین حال آنها را به خاطر گناهانشان تنبیه نمودی.

9 Exalt the Lord our God, and bow yourselves down before his holy mount; for holy is the Lord our God.

خداوند، خدای ما را حمد گویید و او را نزد کوه مقدّسش در اورشلیم عبادت کنید، زیرا او مقدّس است.
