< Psalms 98 >
1 “A psalm.” Oh sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done wonderful things: his right hand and his holy arm have gotten him the victory.
A psalm. Sing a new song to the Lord, for he has done wonders; his right hand and holy arm have won him the victory.
2 The Lord hath made known his salvation: before the eyes of the nations hath he revealed his righteousness.
The Lord has made his victory known, and revealed to the eyes of the nations his righteousness.
3 He hath remembered his kindness and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
Mindful he was of his kindness to Jacob, faithful he was to the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the victory of our God.
4 Shout joyfully unto the Lord, all the lands: break forth, and rejoice, and sing praises.
Shout, all the earth, to the Lord: break into cries and music.
5 Sing praises unto the Lord with the harp, —with the harp, and the voice of psalmody.
Play on the lyre to the Lord, on the lyre and with loud melody.
6 With trumpets and the sound of cornet shout joyfully before the King, the Lord.
With trumpet and sound of horn, shout before the king.
7 Let the sea roar, with all that filleth it; the world, with those that dwell therein.
Let the sea and its fulness roar, the world and the dwellers upon it.
8 Let the rivers clap their hands; let the mountains be joyful together,
Let the streams clap their hands, let the hills shout for gladness together
9 Before the Lord; for he cometh to judge the earth: he will judge the world with righteousness, and people with equity.
before the Lord for he comes, he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with justice and the nations with equity.
