< Psalms 94 >

1 O God, of vengeance, Lord! O God of vengeance, shine forth.
God vengeance LORD God vengeance to shine
2 Lift up thyself, O judge of the Earth! bring a recompense upon the proud.
to lift: raise to judge [the] land: country/planet to return: pay recompense upon proud
3 How long shall the wicked, O Lord—how long shall the wicked exult?
till how wicked LORD till how wicked to exult
4 They sputter, they speak hard things: all the workers of wickedness boast themselves.
to bubble to speak: speak arrogant to say all to work evil: wickedness
5 Thy people, O Lord! they crush, and thy heritage they afflict.
people your LORD to crush and inheritance your to afflict
6 The widow and the stranger they slay, and the fatherless they murder.
widow and sojourner to kill and orphan to murder
7 And they say, The Lord will not see, and the God of Jacob will not take notice of it.
and to say not to see: see LORD and not to understand God Jacob
8 Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye become intelligent!
to understand be brutish in/on/with people and fool how be prudent
9 He that hath planted the ear, shall he not hear? or he that hath formed the eye, shall he not see?
to plant ear not to hear: hear if: surely yes to form: formed eye not to look
10 He that admonisheth nations, shall he not correct? is it not he that teacheth man knowledge!
to discipline nation not to rebuke [the] to learn: teach man knowledge
11 The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are nought.
LORD to know plot man for they(masc.) vanity
12 Happy is the man whom thou admonisheth, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law:
blessed [the] great man which to discipline him LORD and from instruction your to learn: teach him
13 That thou mayest grant him repose from the days of evil, until the pot be dug for the wicked.
to/for to quiet to/for him from day bad: evil till to pierce to/for wicked pit: grave
14 For the Lord will not cast off his people, and his inheritance will he not forsake.
for not to leave LORD people his and inheritance his not to leave: forsake
15 For unto righteousness will justice return; and it shall be followed by all the upright in heart.
for till righteousness to return: return justice and after him all upright heart
16 Who will rise up for me against evil-doers? or who will stand forward for me against the workers of wickedness?
who? to arise: rise to/for me with be evil who? to stand to/for me with to work evil: wickedness
17 Unless the Lord had been a help unto me, but a little would have been wanting that my soul had dwelt in the silence of death.
unless LORD help to/for me like/as little to dwell silence soul my
18 When I said, My foot hath slipped: thy kindness, O Lord, sustained me.
if to say to shake foot my kindness your LORD to support me
19 In the multitude of my [painful] thoughts within me, thy consolations delight my soul.

20 Can there be associated with thee the throne of destructive wickedness, which frameth mischief as a law?
to unite you throne desire to form: plan trouble upon statute: decree
21 They band themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and innocent blood do they condemn.
to cut upon soul: life righteous and blood innocent be wicked
22 But the Lord is become my defence, and my God, the rock of my refuge.
and to be LORD to/for me to/for high refuge and God my to/for rock refuge my
23 And he will bring back upon them their own injustice, and in their own wickedness will he destroy them: [yea], he will destroy them—the Lord our God.
