Psalms 91
1 He who sitteth under the secret protection of the Most High, shall rest under the shadow of the Almighty.
Той, хто живе під покровом Всевишнього, у тіні Всемогутнього спочиватиме.
2 I will say of the Lord, who is my refuge and my stronghold, my God, in whom I ever trust,
Скажу Господеві: «Пристановище моє й твердиня моя – Бог мій, на Нього я надію покладаю».
3 That he will surely deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the pestilence of destruction.
Адже Він визволить тебе від тенет людолова [й] від згубної моровиці.
4 With his pinions will he cover thee, and under his wings shalt thou find shelter: shield and buckler is his truth.
[Мов птах], вкриє тебе Своїм пір’ям, і під крилами Його спочиватимеш безпечно. Щит великий і обладунок – істина Його.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid of the terror of the night; nor of the arrow that flieth by day;
Не будеш боятися жаху нічного, ані стріли, що вдень летить,
6 Nor of the pestilence that stalketh in darkness; nor of the deadly disease that wasteth at noonday.
ані моровиці, що в пітьмі ходить, ані пошесті, що спустошує опівдні.
7 There shall fall at thy side a thousand, and ten thousand at thy right hand; unto thee [however] shall it not come nigh.
Впаде поруч із тобою тисяча [ворогів], і десять тисяч – праворуч від тебе, але до тебе вони не наблизяться.
8 Only with thy eyes shalt thou behold it, and see the recompense of the wicked.
Тільки очима своїми будеш дивитися й побачиш покарання нечестивих.
9 Because thou hast [said], The Lord is my protection, the Most High hast thou made thy refuge:
Оскільки ти Господа – притулок мій, Всевишнього – зробив пристановищем своїм,
10 No evil shall befall thee, nor shall any plague come nigh unto thy tent.
не спіткає тебе лихо й хвороба не наблизиться до твого шатра.
11 For his angels will he give charge concerning thee, to guard thee on all thy ways.
Бо Він ангелам Своїм про тебе накаже, щоб оберігали тебе на всіх твоїх дорогах.
12 Upon [their] hands shall they bear thee, that thou mayest not dash against a stone thy foot.
Вони понесуть тебе на своїх долонях, щоб не спіткнулася нога твоя об камінь.
13 Upon the fierce lion and asp shalt thou tread: thou shalt trample under foot the young lion and serpent.
На лева й на кобру наступиш, розтопчеш молодого лева й змію.
14 Because he hath fixed his desire upon me, therefore will I release him: I will set him on high, because he knoweth my name.
«За те, що він полюбив Мене, врятую його, піднесу його, бо він пізнав ім’я Моє.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him: with him will I be in distress; I will deliver him, and grant him honor.
Коли він покличе Мене, Я відповім йому, у біді з ним буду, визволю його й прославлю.
16 With length of days will I satisfy him, and I will let him see my salvation.
Довголіттям насичу його й з’явлю йому Моє спасіння».
