< Psalms 91 >

1 He who sitteth under the secret protection of the Most High, shall rest under the shadow of the Almighty.
Onye ahụ na-ebi nʼebe mgbaba Onye kachasị ihe niile elu ga-ezu ike nʼokpuru ndo Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile.
2 I will say of the Lord, who is my refuge and my stronghold, my God, in whom I ever trust,
Nke a ka m ga-ekwu maka Onyenwe anyị, “Ọ bụ ebe mgbaba m na ebe nchebe m e wusiri ike, Chineke m, onye m na-atụkwasị obi m.”
3 That he will surely deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the pestilence of destruction.
Nʼezie, ọ ga-anapụta gị site nʼọnya nke onye osi ọnya na site nʼaka ajọ ọrịa na-efe efe na-eweta ịla nʼiyi.
4 With his pinions will he cover thee, and under his wings shalt thou find shelter: shield and buckler is his truth.
Ọ ga-eji nku ya kpuchie gị. Ọ bụkwa nʼokpuru nku ya abụọ, ka ị ga-agbaba zere ndụ, ikwesi ntụkwasị obi ya ga-echebe gị, ghọkwaara gị ọta.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid of the terror of the night; nor of the arrow that flieth by day;
Ị gaghị atụ egwu ihe ịtụ oke egwu nke abalị, maọbụ àkụ na-efegharị nʼehihie,
6 Nor of the pestilence that stalketh in darkness; nor of the deadly disease that wasteth at noonday.
maọbụ ajọ ọrịa na-efe efe, nke na-ejegharị nʼọchịchịrị, ma ọ bụkwanụ ihe mbibi mberede na-eme nʼehihie.
7 There shall fall at thy side a thousand, and ten thousand at thy right hand; unto thee [however] shall it not come nigh.
Puku mmadụ pụrụ ịda nʼakụkụ gị, iri puku mmadụ nwekwara ike ịda nʼakụkụ aka nri gị, ma ihe ọjọọ ndị a agaghị erute gị nso.
8 Only with thy eyes shalt thou behold it, and see the recompense of the wicked.
Ọ bụ naanị anya gị abụọ ka ị ga-eji hụ ntaramahụhụ nke ndị ajọ omume.
9 Because thou hast [said], The Lord is my protection, the Most High hast thou made thy refuge:
Ọ bụrụ na i mee Onye kachasị ihe niile elu ebe obibi gị, ọ bụladị Onyenwe anyị, onye bụ ebe mgbaba m,
10 No evil shall befall thee, nor shall any plague come nigh unto thy tent.
mgbe ahụ, ihe ọjọọ ọbụla enweghị ike ịdakwasị gị; ihe ike ọbụla enweghị ike ịbịaru ụlọ obibi gị nso.
11 For his angels will he give charge concerning thee, to guard thee on all thy ways.
Nʼihi na ọ ga-enye ndị mmụọ ozi ya iwu banyere gị, ka ha chebe gị nʼụzọ gị niile.
12 Upon [their] hands shall they bear thee, that thou mayest not dash against a stone thy foot.
Ha ga-eji ọbụ aka ha, bulie gị elu ime ka ị ghara ịkpọbi ụkwụ gị na nkume.
13 Upon the fierce lion and asp shalt thou tread: thou shalt trample under foot the young lion and serpent.
Ị ga-azọkwasị ọdụm na ajụala ụkwụ, zọgbukwaa ọdụm na-akpa ike, na agwọ ọjọọ.
14 Because he hath fixed his desire upon me, therefore will I release him: I will set him on high, because he knoweth my name.
“Nʼihi na ọ hụrụ m nʼanya, Mụ onwe m ga-agbapụta ya, ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru; aga m echebe ya, nʼihi na ọ maara aha m.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him: with him will I be in distress; I will deliver him, and grant him honor.
Ọ ga-akpọku m, aga m azakwa ya. Aga m anọnyere ya nʼime nsogbu ya, aga m adọpụta, ma sọpụrụkwa ya.
16 With length of days will I satisfy him, and I will let him see my salvation.
Aga m eji ogologo ndụ mee ka afọ ju ya, gosikwa ya nzọpụta m.”
