Psalms 91
1 He who sitteth under the secret protection of the Most High, shall rest under the shadow of the Almighty.
Ο κατοικών υπό την σκέπην του Υψίστου υπό την σκιάν του Παντοκράτορος θέλει διατρίβει.
2 I will say of the Lord, who is my refuge and my stronghold, my God, in whom I ever trust,
Θέλω λέγει προς τον Κύριον, Συ είσαι καταφυγή μου και φρούριόν μου· Θεός μου· επ' αυτόν θέλω ελπίζει.
3 That he will surely deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the pestilence of destruction.
Διότι αυτός θέλει σε λυτρόνει εκ της παγίδος των κυνηγών και εκ θανατηφόρου λοιμού.
4 With his pinions will he cover thee, and under his wings shalt thou find shelter: shield and buckler is his truth.
Με τα πτερά αυτού θέλει σε σκεπάζει, και υπό τας πτέρυγας αυτού θέλεις είσθαι ασφαλής· η αλήθεια αυτού είναι πανοπλία και ασπίς.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid of the terror of the night; nor of the arrow that flieth by day;
Δεν θέλεις φοβείσθαι από φόβου νυκτερινού, την ημέραν από βέλους πετωμένου.
6 Nor of the pestilence that stalketh in darkness; nor of the deadly disease that wasteth at noonday.
Από θανατικού, το οποίον περιπατεί εν σκότει· από ολέθρου, όστις ερημόνει εν μεσημβρία·
7 There shall fall at thy side a thousand, and ten thousand at thy right hand; unto thee [however] shall it not come nigh.
Χιλιάς θέλει πίπτει εξ αριστερών σου και μυριάς εκ δεξιών σου· πλην εις σε δεν θέλει πλησιάζει.
8 Only with thy eyes shalt thou behold it, and see the recompense of the wicked.
Μόνον με τους οφθαλμούς σου θέλεις θεωρεί και θέλεις βλέπει των ασεβών την ανταπόδοσιν.
9 Because thou hast [said], The Lord is my protection, the Most High hast thou made thy refuge:
Επειδή συ τον Κύριον, την ελπίδα μου, τον Ύψιστον έκαμες καταφύγιόν σου,
10 No evil shall befall thee, nor shall any plague come nigh unto thy tent.
δεν θέλει συμβαίνει εις σε κακόν, και μάστιξ δεν θέλει πλησιάζει εις την σκηνήν σου.
11 For his angels will he give charge concerning thee, to guard thee on all thy ways.
Διότι θέλει προστάξει εις τους αγγέλους αυτού περί σου, διά να σε διαφυλάττωσιν εν πάσαις ταις οδοίς σου.
12 Upon [their] hands shall they bear thee, that thou mayest not dash against a stone thy foot.
Θέλουσι σε σηκόνει επί των χειρών αυτών, διά να μη προσκόψης προς λίθον τον πόδα σου.
13 Upon the fierce lion and asp shalt thou tread: thou shalt trample under foot the young lion and serpent.
Θέλεις πατήσει επί λέοντα και επί ασπίδα· θέλεις καταπατήσει σκύμνον και δράκοντα.
14 Because he hath fixed his desire upon me, therefore will I release him: I will set him on high, because he knoweth my name.
Επειδή έθεσεν εις εμέ την αγάπην αυτού, διά τούτο θέλω λυτρώσει αυτόν· θέλω υψώσει αυτόν, διότι εγνώρισε το όνομά μου.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him: with him will I be in distress; I will deliver him, and grant him honor.
Θέλει με επικαλείσθαι, και θέλω εισακούει αυτού· μετ' αυτού θέλω είσθαι εν θλίψει· θέλω λυτρόνει αυτόν και θέλω δοξάζει αυτόν.
16 With length of days will I satisfy him, and I will let him see my salvation.
Θέλω χορτάσει αυτόν μακρότητα ημερών και θέλω δείξει εις αυτόν την σωτηρίαν μου.
