Psalms 89
1 “A Maskil of Ethan the Ezrachite.” The kindnesses of the Lord will I for ever sing: from generation to generation will I make known thy faithfulness with my mouth.
Thaburi ya Ethani wa mbarĩ ya Ezara Ngũtũũra nyinaga ũhoro wa wendo mũnene wa Jehova nginya tene; ndĩrĩmenyithanagia wĩhokeku waku na kanua gakwa kũrĩ njiarwa na njiarwa.
2 For I have said, To eternity will kindness be built up: the heavens—yea, in these wilt thou establish thy faithfulness.
Nĩngumbũra atĩ wendo waku ũtũũraga ũrĩ mũrũmu nginya tene, nyumbũre atĩ wĩhokeku waku nĩũũhaandĩte o kũu igũrũ.
3 “I have made a covenant with my elect, I have sworn unto David my servant,
Woigire atĩrĩ, “Nĩngĩte kĩrĩkanĩro na ũrĩa niĩ ndĩthuurĩire, na ngeehĩta na mwĩhĩtwa harĩ Daudi ndungata yakwa ngamwĩra atĩrĩ,
4 Unto eternity will I establish thy seed, and I will build up thy throne, from generation to generation.” (Selah)
‘Nĩngatũma rũciaro rwaku rũtũũre rwĩhaandĩte nginya tene, na ndũme gĩtĩ gĩaku kĩa ũnene gĩtũũre kĩrĩ kĩrũmu njiarwa na njiarwa.’”
5 And the heavens praise thy wonder, O Lord: also thy faithfulness in the assembly of holy ones.
Wee Jehova-rĩ, igũrũ nĩrĩkumagia magegania maku, na rĩkagaathĩrĩria wĩhokeku waku o naguo, kĩũngano-inĩ kĩa acio atheru.
6 For who in the sky can be compared unto the Lord? who can be likened unto the Lord among the sons of the mighty?
Nĩ ũndũ-rĩ, kũu matu-inĩ igũrũ nũũ ũngĩgerekanio na Jehova? Nũũ ũkĩhaana ta Jehova harĩ ciũmbe iria irĩ igũrũ?
7 God is greatly terrific in the secret council of the holy ones and fear-inspiring over all that are about him.
Kĩama-inĩ kĩa acio atheru, Mũrungu nĩetigĩrĩtwo mũno; nĩ wa gwĩtigĩrwo gũkĩra arĩa othe mamũrigiicĩirie.
8 O Lord God of hosts, who is powerful, like thee, Eternal! and thy faithfulness is round about thee.
Wee Jehova Ngai Mwene-Hinya-Wothe, nũũ ũkĩhaana tawe? Wee Jehova, nĩ ũrĩ hinya, na wĩhokeku waku ũtũũraga ũkũrigiicĩirie.
9 Thou rulest over the pride of the sea: when its waves are lifted up, thou assuagest them.
Nĩwe wathaga kĩhuhũkanio kĩa iria rĩrĩa inene; rĩrĩa makũmbĩ marĩo mookĩra na igũrũ, nĩũmahooreragia.
10 Thou didst crush Rahab as one that is slain: with thy strong arm didst thou scatter thy enemies.
Wahehenjire Rahabu agĩtuĩka o ta ũmwe wa arĩa moragĩtwo; wahurunjire thũ ciaku na guoko gwaku kũrĩ hinya.
11 Thine are the heavens, also thine is the earth: as for the world and what filleth it, thou hast founded them.
Igũrũ nĩ rĩaku, o na thĩ no yaku; Wee nĩwe wombire thĩ na kĩrĩa gĩothe kĩrĩ thĩinĩ wayo.
12 The north and the south—these hast thou created: Tabor and Chermon shall rejoice in thy name.
Nĩwe wombire mwena wa gathigathini na wa gũthini; Taboru na Herimoni ciinaga ikenete nĩ ũndũ wa rĩĩtwa rĩaku.
13 Thine is the powerful arm, with might: strong is thy hand, and exalted is thy right hand.
Gĩcoka gĩaku nĩ kĩrĩ ũhoti; guoko gwaku kũrĩ hinya, guoko gwaku kwa ũrĩo nĩgũtũgĩrie.
14 Righteousness and justice are the prop of thy throne: kindness and truth precede thy presence.
Ũthingu na kĩhooto nĩcio mũthingi wa gĩtĩ gĩaku kĩa ũnene; wendo na wĩhokeku nĩigũtongoragia.
15 Happy is the people that know the cornet's sound: O Lord, in the light of thy countenance will they ever walk firmly.
Kũrathimwo-rĩ, nĩ andũ arĩa mooĩ gũkũgooca na nyĩmbo, o arĩa mathiiaga na ũtheri waku, Wee Jehova.
16 In thy name will they be glad all the day, and in thy righteousness will they be exalted.
Makenagĩra rĩĩtwa rĩaku mũthenya wothe; magũtũũgagĩria nĩ ũndũ wa ũthingu waku.
17 For thou art the glory of their strength; and through thy favor will our horn be exalted.
Nĩgũkorwo Wee nĩwe riiri na hinya wao, na tondũ wa ũtugi waku nĩũtũũgagĩria rũhĩa rwitũ.
18 For of the Lord is our shield; and of the Holy One of Israel is our king.
Ti-itherũ, ngo iitũ ĩrĩ na Jehova, mũthamaki witũ nĩ wa Ũrĩa-Mũtheru-wa-Isiraeli.
19 Then spokest thou in a vision to thy pious [servant], and saidst, “I have bestowed help to one that is mighty; I have exalted a youth out of the people;
Hĩndĩ ĩmwe nĩwaririe na njĩra ya kĩoneki, ũkĩĩra andũ aku arĩa ehokeku atĩrĩ, “Nĩheete njamba ĩmwe ya ita hinya; nĩndũgĩrĩtie mwanake gatagatĩ ka andũ.
20 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him;
Nĩndĩĩoneire Daudi ndungata yakwa; nĩndĩmũitĩrĩirie maguta makwa maamũre.
21 With whom my hand shall be firmly established; also my arm shall strengthen him;
Guoko gwakwa nĩkũrĩmũtiiragĩrĩra; ti-itherũ gĩcoka gĩakwa nĩkĩrĩmwĩkagĩra hinya.
22 The enemy shall not exact from him like a lender: and the son of injustice shall not afflict him:
Gũtirĩ thũ ĩkaamwĩtia igooti. gũtirĩ mũndũ mwaganu ũkaamũhinyĩrĩria.
23 And I will beat down before his face his assailants, and those that hate him will I plague.
Nĩngahehenja thũ ciake mbere yake, na njũrage arĩa othe mamũthũire.
24 But my faithfulness and my kindness shall be with him: and through my name shall his horn be exalted.
Wendo wakwa wa kwĩhokeka ũrĩkoragwo hamwe nake, na nĩ ũndũ wa rĩĩtwa rĩakwa rũhĩa rwake nĩrũrĩtũũgagĩrio.
25 And I will place on the sea his hand, and on the rivers his right hand.
Nĩngatambũrũkia guoko gwake igũrũ rĩa iria, na guoko gwake kwa ũrĩo ndĩkũige igũrũ rĩa njũũĩ.
26 He will call unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
Nĩakanjĩta anjĩĩre atĩrĩ, ‘Wee nĩwe Baba, na Mũrungu wakwa, o Rwaro rwa Ihiga, Mũhonokia wakwa.’
27 Also I will appoint my first-born, the highest among the kings of the earth.
Ningĩ nĩngamwamũra atuĩke irigithathi rĩakwa, na ndũme atũũgĩrio gũkĩra athamaki a thĩ.
28 For evermore will I keep for him my kindness, and my covenant shall stand faithfully with him.
Nĩngũtũũria wendo wakwa harĩ we nginya tene, na kĩrĩkanĩro gĩakwa nake gĩtũũre kĩrĩ gĩa kwĩhokeka.
29 And I appoint for ever his seed, and his throne as the days of heaven.
Nĩngahaanda rũciaro rwake nginya tene, na gĩtĩ gĩake kĩa ũnene ndĩkĩhaande rĩrĩa rĩothe igũrũ rĩgũtũũra.
30 If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my ordinances;
“Ariũ ake mangĩgatirika watho wakwa na mage kũrũmĩrĩra kĩrĩra gĩakwa,
31 If they profane my statutes, and keep not my commandments:
mangĩgathũkia kĩrĩra kĩa watho wakwa wa kũrũmĩrĩrwo na mage kũmenyerera maathani makwa,
32 Then will I visit with the rod their transgressions, and with plagues their iniquity.
nĩngaherithia wĩhia wao na rũthanju, herithie waganu wao na kũmahũũra iboko;
33 Nevertheless my kindness will I not make utterly void from him, and I will not act falsely against my faithfulness.
no ndirĩ hĩndĩ ngaamwehereria wendo wakwa, o na kana thaahie wĩhokeku wakwa o na rĩ.
34 I will not profane my covenant, and what is gone out of my lips will I not alter.
Ndigathũkia kĩrĩkanĩro gĩakwa kana ngarũrĩre ũrĩa iromo ciakwa ciarĩtie.
35 One thing have I sworn by my holiness, that I will not lie unto David.
Nĩndĩhĩtĩte ngĩgwetaga ũtheru wakwa, rĩmwe rĩa kũigana, na ndirĩ hĩndĩ ngaaheenia Daudi,
36 His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne shall be like the sun before me.
atĩ rũciaro rwake rũgũtũũra nginya tene, na gĩtĩ gĩake kĩa ũnene gĩtũũre kĩrĩ kĩrũmu mbere yakwa ta riũa;
37 Like the moon shall it be firmly established for ever, and as this faithful witness in the sky.” (Selah)
gĩgũtũũra kĩrĩ kĩrũmu nginya tene o ta mweri, mũira ũrĩa ũrĩ matu-inĩ nĩ mwĩhokeku.”
38 And yet thou hast east off and despised, thou hast become wroth with thy anointed.
No rĩrĩ, wee nĩũregete, na ũgatiganĩria, o na ũgakĩrakarĩra ũcio ũitĩrĩirie maguta.
39 Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned, down to the ground, his crown.
Wee nĩũkanĩte kĩrĩkanĩro kĩrĩa ũrĩkanĩire na ndungata yaku, na ũkarangĩrĩria thũmbĩ yake rũkũngũ-inĩ.
40 Thou hast broken down all his fences: thou hast brought his strong-holds to terror.
Wee ũmomorete thingo ciake ciothe na ũkaananga ciĩhitho ciake iria cia hinya.
41 All that pass by the way plunder him: he is become a reproach to his neighbors.
Ehĩtũkĩri othe nĩmatahĩte indo ciake; atuĩkĩte wa kũnyararwo nĩ andũ arĩa mariganĩtie nake.
42 Thou hast raised up the right hand of his assailants: thou hast caused all his enemies to rejoice.
Wee nĩũtũũgĩrĩtie guoko kwa ũrĩo kwa arĩa mamũthũire; nĩũtũmĩte thũ ciake ciothe ikene.
43 Thou hast also turned the edge of his sword, and hast not let him stand erect in the battle.
Ũũgĩ wa rũhiũ rwake rwa njora nĩũũhũndũrĩte, na ũkaaga kũmũteithĩrĩria mbaara-inĩ.
44 Thou hast made his brilliancy cease; and his throne hast thou thrown down to the ground.
Nĩũniinĩte riiri wake ũgathira, na ũgaikania gĩtĩ gĩake kĩa ũnene thĩ.
45 Thou hast shortened the days of his youth: thou hast enshrouded him with shame. (Selah)
Nĩũnyiihĩtie matukũ ma wĩthĩ wake; ũmũhumbĩte thoni o ta nguo.
46 How long, Lord, wilt thou hide thyself, continually? how long shall thy fury burn like fire?
Nĩ nginya rĩ, Wee Jehova? Ũgũtũũra wĩhithĩte nginya tene? Nĩ nginya rĩ mangʼũrĩ maku megũtũũra maakanĩte ta mwaki?
47 Remember [what] I am, what my duration is [here], for what nothingness thou hast created all sons of men!
Ririkana ũrĩa mũtũũrĩre wakwa ũrĩ wa gũthira o narua. Kaĩ akĩrĩ ũndũ wa tũhũ watũmire ũmbe andũ othe!
48 What man is there that can live, and shall not see death? that can deliver his soul from the power of the nether word? (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
Nĩ mũndũ ũrĩkũ ũngĩtũũra muoyo na ndonane na gĩkuũ, kana ehonokie kuuma kũrĩ hinya wa mbĩrĩra? (Sheol h7585)
49 Where are thy former kindnesses, O Lord, which thou hast sworn unto David by thy truth?
Wee Mwathani, wendo waku mũnene ũrĩa wa tene ũkĩrĩ kũ, ũrĩa wehĩtire, ũkĩĩrĩra Daudi na ũndũ wa wĩhokeku waku?
50 Remember, Lord, the disgrace of thy servants; that I bear in my bosom the [burden] of all the many nations;
Mwathani, ririkana ũrĩa ndungata yaku ĩnyũrũrĩtio, na ũrĩa nyũmĩrĩirie irumi iria numĩtwo nĩ ndũrĩrĩ ciothe ngoro-inĩ yakwa,
51 That thy enemies have defied, O Lord; that they have defied the footsteps of thy anointed.
o irumi iria thũ ciaku iinyũrũrĩtie nacio, Wee Jehova, iria itũire inyũrũrĩtie makinya ma ũrĩa wee ũitĩrĩirie maguta nacio.
52 Blessed be the Lord for evermore. Amen, and Amen.
