Psalms 87

1 “By the sons of Korach; a psalm or song.” It is founded by him on holy mountains.

Psaume et cantique des fils de Koré. Les fondements de Sion sont sur les montagnes saintes.

2 The Lord loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.

Le Seigneur aime ses portes plus que toutes les tentes de Jacob.

3 Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. (Selah)

On a dit de toi des choses glorieuses, ô cité de Dieu!

4 I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon as those that know me; behold, here is Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia: “This man was born there.”

Je rappellerai Raab et Babylone à ceux qui me connaissent. Et voilà que les étrangers et Tyr, et le peuple des Éthiopiens s'y sont réunis.

5 But of Zion will it be said, “This and that man were born in her:” and the Most High himself doth establish her.

Un homme dira: Ma mère est Sion; et cet homme y est né, et le Très-Haut lui-même en a été le fondateur.

6 The Lord will number when he writeth down nations. “This man was born there.” (Selah)

Le Seigneur racontera cela dans l'écrit des peuples et des princes qui sont nés dans Sion.

7 And the singers as well as the players on instruments shall be there: all my springs [of joy] are in thee.

Pour tous, habiter en toi, c'est habiter dans la joie.
