Psalms 86
1 “A prayer of David.” Incline, O Lord, thy ear, answer me; for poor and needy am I.
Preghiera di Davide. Inclina l’orecchio tuo, o Eterno, e rispondimi, perché io sono afflitto e misero.
2 Preserve my soul; for I am pious: help thy servant, O thou my God, that trusteth in thee.
Proteggi l’anima mia, perché sono di quelli che t’amano. Tu, mio Dio, salva il tuo servitore che confida in te!
3 Be gracious unto me, O Lord; for unto thee I call all the time.
Abbi pietà di me, o Signore, perché io grido a te tutto il giorno.
4 Cause to rejoice the soul of thy servant; for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift my soul.
Rallegra l’anima del tuo servitore, perché a te, o Signore, io elevo l’anima mia.
5 For thou, O Lord, art good and forgiving, and abundant in kindness unto all that call on thee.
Poiché tu, o Signore, sei buono, pronto a perdonare, e di gran benignità verso tutti quelli che t’invocano.
6 Give ear, O Lord, unto my prayer, and attend to the voice of my supplications.
Porgi l’orecchio, o Eterno, alla mia preghiera, e sii attento alla voce delle mie supplicazioni.
7 On the day of my distress will I call on thee; for thou wilt answer me.
Io t’invoco nel giorno della mia distretta, perché tu mi risponderai.
8 There is none like unto thee among the Gods, O Lord; and there is nothing like thy works.
Non v’è nessuno pari a te fra gli dèi, o Signore, né vi sono alcune opere pari alle tue.
9 All the nations whom thou hast made shall come and bow themselves down before thee, O Lord; and they shall ascribe honor unto thy name.
Tutte le nazioni che tu hai fatte verranno ad adorare nel tuo cospetto, o Signore, e glorificheranno il tuo nome.
10 For great art thou, and doing wondrous things: thou art God by thyself alone.
Poiché tu sei grande e fai maraviglie; tu solo sei Dio.
11 Teach me, O Lord, thy way; I will walk firmly in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
O Eterno, insegnami la tua via; io camminerò nella tua verità; unisci il mio cuore al timor del tuo nome.
12 I will thank thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and I will honor thy name for evermore.
Io ti celebrerò, Signore, Iddio mio, con tutto il mio cuore, e glorificherò il tuo nome in perpetuo.
13 For thy kindness is great toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the grave of the lower world. (Sheol h7585)
Perché grande è la tua benignità verso me, e tu hai riscossa l’anima mia dal fondo del soggiorno de’ morti. (Sheol h7585)
14 O God, the presumptuous are risen up against me, and the assembly of the powerful wicked have sought after my life, and have not set thee before them.
O Dio, gente superba s’è levata contro di me, e una turba di violenti cerca l’anima mia, e non pongono te davanti agli occhi loro.
15 But thou, O Lord, art God, full of mercy, and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in kindness and truth.
Ma tu, o Signore, sei un Dio pietoso e misericordioso, lento all’ira e grande in benignità e in verità.
16 Oh turn unto me, and be gracious unto me: give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thy handmaid.
Volgiti a me, ed abbi pietà di me; da’ la tua forza al tuo servitore, e salva il figliuolo della tua servente.
17 Display on me a sign for good, that those who hate me may see it, and be ashamed; because thou, Lord, hast helped me, and comforted me.
Mostrami un segno del tuo favore, onde quelli che m’odiano lo veggano e sian confusi, perché tu, o Eterno, m’avrai soccorso e consolato.
