Psalms 86
1 “A prayer of David.” Incline, O Lord, thy ear, answer me; for poor and needy am I.
Prière de David. Incline l’oreille, ô Eternel, exauce-moi, car je suis pauvre et malheureux.
2 Preserve my soul; for I am pious: help thy servant, O thou my God, that trusteth in thee.
Protège mon âme, car je suis fidèle; prête secours, toi, mon Dieu, à ton serviteur, qui met sa confiance en toi.
3 Be gracious unto me, O Lord; for unto thee I call all the time.
Prends-moi en pitié, Seigneur, car vers toi je crie toute la journée.
4 Cause to rejoice the soul of thy servant; for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift my soul.
Réjouis l’âme de ton serviteur, car vers toi, Seigneur, j’élève ma pensée.
5 For thou, O Lord, art good and forgiving, and abundant in kindness unto all that call on thee.
C’Est que toi, Seigneur, tu es bon et clément, plein d’amour pour tous ceux qui t’invoquent.
6 Give ear, O Lord, unto my prayer, and attend to the voice of my supplications.
Ecoute, Eternel, ma prière, sois attentif à mes accents suppliants.
7 On the day of my distress will I call on thee; for thou wilt answer me.
Au jour de ma détresse, je t’appelle, car c’est toi qui me réponds.
8 There is none like unto thee among the Gods, O Lord; and there is nothing like thy works.
Personne, parmi les divinités, n’est comme toi, Seigneur; rien n’égale tes œuvres.
9 All the nations whom thou hast made shall come and bow themselves down before thee, O Lord; and they shall ascribe honor unto thy name.
Puissent tous les peuples que tu as créés venir se prosterner devant toi, Seigneur, et honorer ton nom!
10 For great art thou, and doing wondrous things: thou art God by thyself alone.
Car tu es grand, et fécond en miracles; toi seul, tu es Dieu.
11 Teach me, O Lord, thy way; I will walk firmly in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
Instruis-moi dans tes voies, je veux marcher dans ta vérité; dispose mon cœur à révérer ton nom.
12 I will thank thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and I will honor thy name for evermore.
Je veux te louer, Seigneur mon Dieu, de tout cœur, honorer ton nom à tout jamais.
13 For thy kindness is great toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the grave of the lower world. (Sheol h7585)
Car grande est ta bonté pour moi: tu as sauvé mon âme du gouffre profond. (Sheol h7585)
14 O God, the presumptuous are risen up against me, and the assembly of the powerful wicked have sought after my life, and have not set thee before them.
O Dieu, des audacieux s’étaient levés contre moi, une bande de gens violents avaient attenté à ma vie: ils n’avaient nulle pensée pour toi.
15 But thou, O Lord, art God, full of mercy, and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in kindness and truth.
Mais toi, Seigneur, tu es un Dieu clément et miséricordieux, tardif à la colère, plein de bienveillance et d’équité.
16 Oh turn unto me, and be gracious unto me: give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thy handmaid.
Tourne-toi vers moi et sois-moi propice, accorde ton puissant secours à ton serviteur, et prête assistance au fils de ta servante.
17 Display on me a sign for good, that those who hate me may see it, and be ashamed; because thou, Lord, hast helped me, and comforted me.
Fais éclater en ma faveur un signe de bonheur; que mes ennemis soient confondus, en voyant que c’est toi, Eternel, qui me prodigues secours et consolations.
