Psalms 84
1 “To the chief musician upon Gittith, by the sons of Korach, a psalm.” How lovely are thy dwelling-places, O Lord of hosts!
För sångmästaren, till Gittít; av Koras söner; en psalm.
2 My soul desired, yea, it also longed for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh shout with joy unto the living God.
Huru ljuvliga äro icke dina boningar, HERRE Sebaot!
3 Even as the sparrow hath found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young: —[have I found] thy altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.
Min själ längtar och trängtar efter HERRENS gårdar, min själ och min kropp jubla mot levande Gud.
4 Happy are they who dwell in thy house: they will be continually praising thee. (Selah)
Ty sparven har funnit ett hus och svalan ett bo åt sig, där hon kan lägga sina ungar: dina altaren, HERRE Sebaot, min konung och min Gud.
5 Happy is the man whose strong confidence is in thee, [all] whose heart reflecteth on the paths [of righteousness].
Saliga äro de som bo i ditt hus; de lova dig beständigt. (Sela)
6 Passing through the valley of weeping, they will change it into a spring: also the early rain covereth it with blessings.
Saliga äro de människor som i dig hava sin starkhet, de vilkas håg står till dina vägar.
7 They go from strength to strength, each of them appeareth before God in Zion.
När de vandra genom Tåredalen, göra de den rik på källor, och höstregnet höljer den med välsignelser.
8 O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. (Selah)
De gå från kraft till kraft; så träda de fram inför Gud på Sion.
9 [Thou, ] our shield, behold, O God, and look upon the face of thy anointed.
HERRE Gud Sebaot, hör min bön, lyssna, du Jakobs Gud. (Sela)
10 For better is a day in thy courts than a thousand [elsewhere]: I would rather choose to wait at the threshold of the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
Gud, vår sköld, ser härtill, och akta på din smordes ansikte.
11 For a sun and shield is the Lord God; grace and glory will the Lord give; he will not withhold any good from those that walk with integrity.
Ty en dag i dina gårdar är bättre än eljest tusen. Jag vill hellre vakta dörren i min Guds hus än dväljas i de ogudaktigas hyddor.
12 O Lord of hosts, happy is the man that trusteth in thee.
Ty HERREN Gud är sol och sköld; HERREN giver nåd och ära; han vägrar icke dem något gott, som vandra i ostrafflighet. HERRE Sebaot, salig är den människa som förtröstar på dig. Eller fastmer: Min själ längtade och trängtade efter HERRENS gårdar; nu jubla min själ och min kropp mot levande Gud. Ja, sparven har funnit ett hus och svalan ett bo åt sig, där hon har lagt sina ungar osv. Se Tåredalen i Ordförkl. Eller: Ty HERREN Gud är värn och sköld osv.
