Psalms 84
1 “To the chief musician upon Gittith, by the sons of Korach, a psalm.” How lovely are thy dwelling-places, O Lord of hosts!
Načelniku godbe pri Giteji, sinovom Koretovim psalm. Kako ljuba so prebivališča tvoja, o Gospod vojnih krdél!
2 My soul desired, yea, it also longed for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh shout with joy unto the living God.
Duša moja hrepeni in koprni, priti v veže Gospodove; srce moje in meso moje vpijeta v hrepenenji po živem Bogu mogočnem.
3 Even as the sparrow hath found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young: —[have I found] thy altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.
Celo vrabec najde dom in lastovka si gnezdo, da v njem izvali mladiče svoje – o oltarji tvoji, o Gospod vojnih krdél, kralj moj in Bog moj!
4 Happy are they who dwell in thy house: they will be continually praising thee. (Selah)
Blagor jim, ki so prebivali v hiši tvoji, ki te zdaj še hvalijo!
5 Happy is the man whose strong confidence is in thee, [all] whose heart reflecteth on the paths [of righteousness].
Blagor človeku, kateremu je dano v tebi stopati na steze tvoje po srca svojega želji.
6 Passing through the valley of weeping, they will change it into a spring: also the early rain covereth it with blessings.
Kateri gredé po murbini dolini, imajo njega za studenec, katere tudi pokriva dež blagoslova,
7 They go from strength to strength, each of them appeareth before God in Zion.
Kateri hodijo od zbora do zbora, ki se prikaže pred Bogom na Sijonu.
8 O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. (Selah)
Gospod, Bog vojnih krdél, čuj molitev mojo; poslušaj, o Bog Jakobov!
9 [Thou, ] our shield, behold, O God, and look upon the face of thy anointed.
Ščit naš, poglej, o Bog; in glej maziljenca svojega obličje!
10 For better is a day in thy courts than a thousand [elsewhere]: I would rather choose to wait at the threshold of the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
Ker boljši en dan v vežah tvojih, nego tisoč drugjé; raji hočem stopati čez prag v hiši Boga mojega, nego prebivati v krivice šatorih.
11 For a sun and shield is the Lord God; grace and glory will the Lord give; he will not withhold any good from those that walk with integrity.
Ker solnce in ščit je Gospod, Bog; milost in slavo daje Gospod; dobrega ne krati njim, ki hodijo v poštenosti.
12 O Lord of hosts, happy is the man that trusteth in thee.
O Gospod vojnih krdél, blagor človeku, kateri ima zaupanje v tebe!
