< Psalms 83 >
1 “A song or psalm of Assaph.” O God, take no rest for thyself: be not silent and keep not still, O God!
Orin. Saamu ti Asafu. Ọlọ́run, má ṣe dákẹ́; má ṣe dákẹ́, Ọlọ́run má ṣe dúró jẹ́ẹ́.
2 For, lo, thy enemies make a tumult, and they that hate thee have lifted up their head.
Wo bí àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ ti ń rọ́kẹ̀kẹ̀ lọ, bi àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ ti ń gbé ohùn wọn sókè.
3 Against thy people they take crafty secret device, and they consult against those whom thou protectest.
Pẹ̀lú àrékérekè ni wọn dìtẹ̀ sí àwọn ènìyàn rẹ; wọn sí dìtẹ̀ mọ́ àwọn tí o fẹ́.
4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; and the name of Israel shall be remembered no more.
Wọn wí pé, “wá, ẹ jẹ́ kí á pa wọ́n run bí orílẹ̀-èdè, kí orúkọ Israẹli ma bá a sí ní ìrántí mọ́.”
5 For they have consulted cordially together; against thee they make a covenant:
Wọ́n gbìmọ̀ pọ̀ pẹ̀lú ọkàn kan; wọ́n ṣe àdéhùn láti ṣọ̀tẹ̀ sí ọ
6 The tents of Edom, and the Ishmaelites: Moab, and the Hagarenes;
Àgọ́ Edomu àti ti àwọn ará Iṣmaeli, ti Moabu àti ti Hagari
7 Gebal, and 'Ammon, and 'Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
Gebali, Ammoni àti Amaleki, Filistia, pẹ̀lú àwọn ènìyàn Tire.
8 Also Asshur is joined with them; they have become an arm unto the children of Lot. (Selah)
Asiria pẹ̀lú ti darapọ̀ mọ́ wọn láti ran àwọn ọmọ Lọti lọ́wọ́. (Sela)
9 Do unto them as [unto] Midian; as to Sissera, as to Jabin, at the brook Kishon:
Ṣe sí wọn bí ìwọ ti ṣe sí Midiani bí o ti ṣe sí Sisera àti Jabini ní odò Kiṣoni,
10 Who were annihilated at 'En-dor; they became as dung for the ground.
ẹni tí ó ṣègbé ní Endori tí wọn sì dàbí ààtàn ní orí ilẹ̀.
11 Render them, their nobles, like 'Oreb, and like Zeeb; yea, like Zebach and like Zalmunna' all their princes;
Ṣe àwọn ọlọ́lá wọn bí Orebu àti Seebu, àwọn ọmọ-aládé wọn bí Seba àti Salmunna,
12 Who said, Let us conquer for ourselves the dwellings of God,
tí ó wí pé, “Ẹ jẹ́ kí a gbà ní ìní àní pápá oko tútù Ọlọ́run.”
13 O my God, render them like the thistle-down, like stubble before the wind.
Ìwọ Ọlọ́run, ṣe wọ́n bí ààjà, bí ìyàngbò níwájú afẹ́fẹ́.
14 As the fire burneth up a forest, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire:
Bí iná ti í jó igbó, àti bí ọ̀wọ́-iná ti ń mú òkè ńlá gbiná,
15 So pursue them with thy storm, and with thy whirlwind do thou terrify them.
bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kí o fi ẹ̀fúùfù líle rẹ lépa wọn dẹ́rùbà wọn lójú pẹ̀lú ìjì rẹ.
16 Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek thy name, O Lord!
Fi ìtìjú kún ojú wọn, kí àwọn ènìyàn bá à lè ṣe àfẹ́rí orúkọ rẹ àti kí o fi ìjì líle rẹ dẹ́rùbà, ìwọ Olúwa.
17 Let them be made ashamed and terrified for ever and aye; yea, let them be put to the blush and perish:
Jẹ́ kí ojú kí ó tì wọ́n, kí wọ́n sì dààmú láéláé kí wọ́n ṣègbé sínú ẹ̀gàn
18 That they may know that thou, whose name is the Eternal, art by thyself alone, the Most High over all the earth.
jẹ́ kí wọn mọ̀ pé ìwọ, tí orúkọ rẹ̀ ń jẹ́ Olúwa: pé ìwọ nìkan ní Ọ̀gá-ògo jùlọ lórí gbogbo ayé.
