Psalms 82

1 “A psalm of Assaph.” God standeth in the congregation of God, in the midst of judges doth he judge.

ആസാഫിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീർത്തനം. ദൈവം മഹാസഭയിൽ ആധ്യക്ഷ്യംവഹിക്കുന്നു; അവിടന്ന് ദേവന്മാർക്കിടയിൽ ന്യായംവിധിക്കുന്നു:

2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and treat with favor the face of the wicked? (Selah)

“എത്രനാൾ നിങ്ങൾ അനീതിക്കായി നിലകൊള്ളുകയും ദുഷ്ടരോട് പക്ഷപാതംകാണിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. (സേലാ)

3 Judge uprightly the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and indigent.

അനാഥർക്കും ദുർബലർക്കുമായി നിലകൊള്ളുക; ദരിദ്രർക്കും പീഡിതർക്കും ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്യുക.

4 Release the poor and needy: deliver them out of the power of the wicked.

അഗതികളെയും ദുർബലരെയും മോചിപ്പിക്കുക; അവരെ ദുഷ്ടരുടെ കൈകളിൽനിന്ന് വിടുവിക്കുക.

5 They know not, nor will they understand; in darkness do they walk on: all the foundations of the earth are moved.

“അവർ ഒന്നും അറിയുന്നില്ല, അവർ ഒന്നും മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നില്ല. അവർ അന്ധകാരത്തിൽ തപ്പിത്തടയുന്നു; ഭൂമിയുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനങ്ങളെല്ലാം ഇളകിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

6 I have indeed said, Ye are gods; and children of the most High are all of you.

“‘നിങ്ങൾ ദേവന്മാർ, എന്നും നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും അത്യുന്നതന്റെ മക്കൾ എന്നും ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു.’

7 But verily like men shall ye die, and like one of the princes shall ye fall.

എന്നാൽ വെറും മനുഷ്യരെപ്പോലെ നിങ്ങൾ മരിക്കും; ഭരണാധിപരിൽ ഒരാളെപ്പോലെ നിങ്ങൾ വീണുപോകും.”

8 Arise, O God, judge the earth; for thou wilt possess all the nations.

ദൈവമേ, എഴുന്നേൽക്കണമേ, ഭൂമിയെ വിധിക്കണമേ, കാരണം സകലരാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളും അങ്ങയുടെ അവകാശമാണല്ലോ.
